Now if you crave more of the Man without Fear, I can provide a bit more on the subject (which is my area of expertise).

Daredevil has two definitive origin retellings, The Man Without Fear (which is what DDs1 is based on) by Frank Miller & John Romita, Jr., and Daredevil: Yellow by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale (the same creative team behind Batman: The Long Halloween).
TMWF: http://www.amazon.com/Daredevil-Without-Fear-Frank-Miller/dp/0785134794/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1452067420&sr=1-1&keywords=the+man+without+fear
DDY: http://www.amazon.com/DAREDEVIL-YELLOW-Jeph-Loeb/dp/0785109692/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1452067605&sr=1-1&keywords=daredevil+yellow

Now both of those stories are excellent, but for Daredevil: Yellow I'd actually recommend reading Kevin Smith & Joe Quesada's controversial Guardian Devil before you start it. If you do read it, please, PLEASE read it the whole way through, as most just stop before the end which is criminal. I guarantee that if you finish, you will have a whole new respect for a certain foe of Spider-Man. (Also definitely buy the trade, the individual covers give away things that happened in the previous issue so if you buy in bulk like I do you will be spoiled)

Now I'd also recommend reading Brian Michael Bendis & Alex Maleev's run, as well as Ed Brubaker & Michael Lark's run which comes right after it, as both are some of the best comics of the Modern Age.
DDbBMB&AMv1: http://www.amazon.com/Daredevil-Michael-Bendis-Ultimate-Collection/dp/0785143882/ref=pd_sim_14_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=51Ssk-ZLobL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR103%2C160_&refRID=1AAEZR1ZFM4AKWTPR57W
DDbEB&MLv1: http://www.amazon.com/Daredevil-Brubaker-Michael-Ultimate-Collection/dp/0785163344/ref=pd_sim_14_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=51gw0%2BVbCkL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR104%2C160_&refRID=0AEEM22Y7D77C00BFNX8

Now for the big stuff, The Bullseye/Elektra Saga by Frank Miller & Klaus Janson which I recommended above, and of course, Daredevil: Born Again by Frank Miller & David Mazzucchelli, which is considered one of the greatest comic books ever written, and I would agree. If you only read one thing, read that. It (along with The Man Without Fear) is being released with all of Frank Miller's other works on the character as a companion piece to the omnibus I recommended above, so you may want to look into that.

I hope that is enough Daredevil to tide you over until March.

Super interested in this run! For me an avid adult fan who read most of my Marvel comics in the 90s, but also has a 14yo old son who also loves Marvel and has recently come out.

This looks fantastic! Is this the condensed run?

There is a 28-year-old graphic novel ("Emperor Doom") where Doctor Doom kidnaps Kilgrave, places him in an "amplifier", and is (eventually) able to take over the whole world using his powers.

(It should be noted that the few Marvel heroes that either have the willpower to resist him (Namor) or don't require breathing (Vision, MachineMan) are eventually controlled by an altered version of Kilgrave's powers using a contact device.)

So, by the end of his (first) run as a villain, it was observed that his ability could be EXTREMELY powerful if used in the right way.

BTW, the graphic novel is only okay. Doctor Doom comes across as amazing (as usual) but the discussion of "free will" and "benevolent dictator" is a bit too heavy handed (and rushed, for the story length). Also, the hero of the story is WonderMan, and he's never been a great character.

> Where can I read it?

There are a lot of options:

  • If you're interested in digital comics, the most cost-effective legal option would probably be Marvel Unlimited. It's basically Marvel Comics' Netflix, you can read their whole backlog (anything older than six months) for $10 a month or $70 a year.

  • If you're interested in reading physical comics, your local library may have the TBPs (trade paperbacks; collected editions containing six or so issues). You could also buy the TBPs, but that gets pricey quick.

  • There's also the option of the high seas, but I don't know if we're allowed to discuss that on this sub. You're welcome to pm me if you have questions about it, and there's also lots of info over on r/piracy.

    > what is the accurate issue number or things like that? I’m new to comic

Comics are sorted into volumes; each new volume is normally a relaunch, so they start with a new issue #1. For New Avengers, start at Vol. 1, #1.

The gloves are from Amazon and the tattoo was from etsy. I wasn't too thrilled with the gloves. It looked better in the darker rooms. The tattoo was excellent though. Went on easily and looked pretty real.

OP if you’re interested in learning about Moon Knight and why the character has such a strong cult following, I’d personally recommend checking out Moon Knight Vol. 1: The Bottom as a good place to start

For Iron Fist, I recommend reading the Immortal Iron Fist series, which I'm fairly sure the show is going to draw heavily from:

http://www.amazon.com/Immortal-Iron-Fist-Complete-Collection/dp/0785185429

u/Vaxis7 · 2 pointsr/Defenders

You can pre-order Iron Fist now on Amazon. It's a UK release, but region-free:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Marvels-Iron-Season-Blu-ray-Region/dp/B07BKFX59G

Or, Zavvi offers a better looking steelbook, using the Quesada art:

u/Abyss_85 · 0 pointsr/Defenders

It's already out. There even is a steelbook version, but that's out of stock at least at amazon.

You can also buy Daredevil season 1 and season 2.

No there's plenty of stories that fall into alternate history while not into fantasy, one of the greatest is

Daredevil is not exclusive to Netflix, not at all. You can purchase Blu rays through Buena Vista. You can also purchase episodes on Apple and Amazon. I'm probably missing others, but I have had a long day.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/marvels-daredevil-season-1/id1080800338

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D1YRIIS

The distribution rights for Orange is the New Black and HOC were sold by their respective production companies to various distributors after Netflix declined to option the rights to other territories. This was before Netflix bought global licenses for its later shows, Netflix was just starting out. I cant remember which season it was, I believe it was after season 3 of HOC Netflix paid up the ass for the additional territories after it decided to go global a few years back.

https://www.vox.com/2015/6/11/8766869/netflix-shows

Now there is the big breaking news of Daredevil being cancelled. If they totally own the shows and the viewership is great like some here say, why would they cancel it now? A company would have Disney by the balls in this case. Doesn't make business sense. None of this really matters anyways. Netflix has long term streaming distribution of the past seasons. Makes no sense to reboot the show on another service. It would be a marketing nightmare.

I only just realised, the Police plot

Madina: "The CIA committed torture!"

CIA/DHS/Police: "do you have evidence?"
