I've recently found & bought a proper USB for myself (this badboy), so busy on filling it with music I'm feeling. Quite a lengthy process as my library has been getting pretty big (I'm the kind of person who stores full releases but only likes 30% of his library). Still wondering if I should get a second one for backup and those odd times the players aren't linked together. Also looking for a way to organise my tracks. Been trying to sort them by energy levels, but it's kinda hard judging tracks on that. Tell me how you sort/organise/label your tracks!

Also, been to Blackout last weekend. Netsky was booked and he actually surprised me! Played a few really strong tracks (heard Together and Be True) as well as some offgenre stuff. This weekend, I'm seeing these lot at Liquicity in Amsterdam.

Also, found this banger while going through my library!

I bought these for let it roll 2018. link to german amazon

They are awesome at adjusting the sound so your ears dont fall off but you still hear the sound as its not changing the sound too much compared to normal oropax.
But I think all ear protection will work. I was looking for some that are especially made for partys or festivals because of the improved sound quality. But (at least on german amazon) there are many other brands.

edit: I also bought these for a friend who was with me at LiR, and he was constantly thanking me for those ear buds =P

Check out the Drum and bass arena cd's.
Especially look for the Drum and Bass Arena Anthology; it's a 3 cd collection of 'the best songs' from 1993-2010.
This should give you some insight on how dnb evolved and which artists/subgenres you like. Enjoy and welcome to the wonderful world of dnb!

I got his book (Nine Lives: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nine-Lives-Goldie/dp/0340824786) for my birthday 2 years ago and couldn't put it down. He's led a pretty interesting life. The bits with Noel Gallagher really made me laugh.

Also "All crews" is another great dnb book, though not quite as well written it's a proper journey through those times!

just get some IEMs and a bluetooth cable and you'll have a much better time. Buy a pair of Tin T2s or Tin P1s and this cable if you want good sound quality at a decent price and don't care too much about some of the cool features you get with airpods and stuff like that.

As far as other songs/artists/albums similar to this? Man, there would be a lot - and way more than I'd be able to recommend.
I will say that the LP as a whole (at least, from a typically-DnB-producer standpoint) was somewhat reminiscent of LTJ Bukem's "Journey Inwards" LP, IMO. (https://www.amazon.com/Journey-Inwards-Ltj-Bukem/dp/B00004SGS5/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1498596143&sr=1-1&keywords=ltj+bukem%2C+journey+inwards)
There's an old compilation I have from years ago called (ironically) "Future Jazz" that I recall being pretty solid. (https://www.amazon.com/Future-Jazz-Various-Artists/dp/B00003OP25) And I'd also recommend checking out pretty much anything from Herbie Hancock while you're at it. He was one of the essential artists for where a lot of atmospheric stuff found it's roots (e.g., the Rhodes piano, synths, drum programming, etc.).
I'm sure there's plenty more (and a lot I may not be remembering since I'm at work at the moment), but at least that might be a decent start.

You. You got it right.

Something I think you will enjoy: DJ DB - The Secret Art Of Science (Full Album)... Get it somehow. You will be happy.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00I3LV11K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_KT5KBbHNHTPBD I had a pair for 3 years, loved them, they finally broke (my fault) and I bought another pair as they're cheaper than they were and the quality is damn good. Really good in ear plugs as well they never fall out even when I'm running etc

Just as good as the original.

Thanks, /u/DarkSideOfTheNuum for reminding me of the Hard Leaders / Genetically Unmodified sampler. Allow me to share some of my favorites on there:

Decoder - Stash: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r35RCmUvVRg

Surreal - No Where: http://www.amazon.com/No-Where/dp/B007UOM3WM (If anyone can find this one on youtube, I'd be very grateful)

I got some of these, bought the large fit after buying the standard ones and realising how tiny the standard fit seems to be (the large earplugs are more or less the same size as standard sony earbuds etc, and the standard are more or less the same size as the small earbuds).

They take away the very high pitched noises like the hissing of drums while keeping the low and mid more or less the same so you'll still be able to fully appreciate the music, have conversations with people etc, just you won't experience the hissing tearing your eardrums apart, especially when you move nearer to the speakers. Also, you won't experience any ringing in your ears the following day which is such a big plus.

Highly recommend picking some up, losing your hearing really sucks!

Sick tune. I always want to hear this one right after it thanks to DJ DB's classic History Part 2 mix CD - one of the best d&b mixes ever.

u/jimofwales · 5 pointsr/DnB

This is one of my all-time favourites, I'm surprised to see it pop up on reddit.

If you like it, check out the cd - Marcus Intalex - Fabric Live 35

All the tunes are in the same vein - Solitary Native is the last track on the album.

u/anifail · 3 pointsr/DnB

use earplugs with a 3kHz resonant filter like these

I don't have that particular set. I have Rooth C&P 25dB, but I don't recommend them because of fit.

u/AlanPearTreeBird · 2 pointsr/DnB

These are really good, I've had two or three pairs over the last seven years or so.

You may like Andy C's Nightlife 5 album. Its 2 mixes with....actually all the songs i posted. That was really the gateway album for me to get into Dnb, you may wanna check it out! (The digital release includes the mix as standalone tracks and then seperate tracks with it, the CD release is just the mix split into parts)
