I don’t even watch the show but I can confirm, it is one of the most fun board games I’ve ever played. It relies very little on rng so you’d think it would get stale, but it does have rng elements and enough unknown factors that it never seems to. They also have an expansion that adds House Arryn and Targaryen and I haven’t played it but my brother had it and I’ve heard great things. If you have a friend with it, try it out. If not, go to a board game cafe to test it out. If you are willing to spend money already because you’re that confident of the quality here’s a link.

You might have different needs than me. I have like 30 EDH decks. I wanted cheap deck boxes that would should the commander. I wanted them to be replaceable if I wanted and sturdy enough I wouldn't often want to.

This is not for people who want deck boxes as lovingly crafted as their decks or want completely indestructible boxes that are hermetically sealed. This will repel some water, like rain or a quickly cleaned spilled drink, but not protect again submersion.

I settled on BCW 100 count boxes with a hard toploader attached with packaging tape.

50 count of boxes - https://www.amazon.com/Count-Bundle-Corrugated-Cardboard-Storage/dp/B000K3XPTA/

100 count ultrapro toploader - https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Loaders-Sleeve-Promo/dp/B002K2MNGK?th=1&psc=1

If you order each 100 at a go it will cost less than $1 per box. If you buy the stuff for one box, you might pay $2 for the box at an LGS and another dollar for the toploader. it might be worth it to buy a small pack of toploaders because they are randomly useful and I have never regretted having spares.

Add any clear packaging tape and have cheap deck boxes that show off the commander. I used Duck brand max strength ultra clear HD. No clue what my tape is doing with the extra HD pixels, but it is strong and I got it walmart for less than $5 and use it for anything that needs clear tape.

With the dispenser about $6 per roll - https://www.amazon.com/Duck-Clear-Packaging-Refill-441962/dp/B0006HX2MU

Without dispenser about $2 per roll - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GR5XCW

Hmm, not really. Not that meet your specifications anyway. I like to store my decks individually and usually use Dragon Shield's Nesting Deck Boxes of various colors. I keep these in a camera case, specifically This one.

I prefer not to share cards between decks because it limits me from making samey, expensive decks. If it's not worth two copies it only goes in one deck.

Just searching online though I found this. It may work for you, but I haven't tried it myself. Seems like it could hold about 1500-1800 cards single sleeved.

Edit- Some of my friends who've gone off and had kids and thus have better things to spend money on have started using tackle boxes from Home Depot. They seem to fit pretty well, but if I were you I'd pick one out in person, since they certainly weren't designed with your cardboard in mind.

u/Engineerbob · 2 pointsr/EDH

I picked up one of these, and really like it!

I can fit 2 decks in it, one in each tray, then where the "oversized" cards are supposed to go, I put two top loaders which hold each commander. I keep the rest of my decks in fat pack boxes... but I am looking to either get more of the tower boxes, or find another solution for bulk decks.

I keep my dice in a Canon lens bag like this They make great dice bags, and dont cost anything if you buy a fancy lens first!

I usually carry everything in my camera backpack it works great to have a backpack that is already designed to hold heavy junk. (plus, I can bring my camera too)

Don't know about piface, but here's what I do.

  1. Use acetone to remove the face from a foil. Amonkhet foils, for whatever reason, are really really easy to wipe off, so I recommend that.
  2. Print out your proxy on adhesive transparency paper. (I use this.)
  3. Stick the transparent printout to the blank foil.

Easy as pie. Costs less than a dollar per proxy, and they look excellent.
u/Barrett82A1 · 1 pointr/EDH

I have tried the transparencies method and printed the image reversed, then glue the image face down but that leaves tiny glue spots on the image and it is another step. I have been using Clear Sticker Paperand it is much cheaper. Sticker paper leaves no marks on the image, but the ink is exposed. I put the cards in a perfect fit sleeve and it is now protected from smudging. The extra benefit of sticker is you can peel the image if you need to and reuse the card.

Hi there!

So the process is actually pretty simple. Here are some links to get you started:
For decals: https://www.amazon.com/Inkjet-Clear-Ultra-Cling-Sheets/dp/B008QZ3ZF8

For MSE: http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/
The first thing you want to do is to blank some old (worthless) foils with acetone. After that, it's all pretty much on the computer. For this you just want to make sure you have everything sized correctly when you print from MSE to the decal. They are designed for inkjet printing, so check your printer first! Try printing it on regular printing paper first (I know the template should work for MSE, but just to be safe). When switching to decal paper, remember to set your printer's paper settings to glossy/photo paper. Give the art some time to dry and be careful when applying to the card so as to not get air bubbles.
Hope this helped.

Edit: Words

Please heed my input, even though the price may come off as offputting.

After happily completing a commander deck with 97% foil cards, I was prepared to keep it in the same boulder box I had kept the deck in. However, double sleeved and all the thicker due to the foil laminate, my cards refused to fit.

After fretting a bit I turned to a local game store and found this. It's pricey, and overkill for most, but the absolute sturdiness, reliable neodymium magnetic closure, dice storage block and quality anodized finish, this is by far the top class deck box for any cherished commander deck.

It holds my thick deck with ease.

u/Karnblack · 6 pointsr/EDH

I haven't had an issue with these deck boxes either and I've kept some decks in them for almost 10 years. If I end up dropping one and cracking it I'm only out a couple of bucks rather than $10+.

I transport up to 12 decks in the Stanley Organizer (https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Removable-Compartment-Professional-Organizer/dp/B001G1CUK0) like so: Decks for Magic Fest Las Vegas https://imgur.com/a/Q65Iqvz

If I only want to take up to 4 decks those clear plastic deck boxes easily fit into the Ultimate Guard Arkhive: https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Guard-UGD10767-Arkhive-Standard/dp/B079T8J6V1

u/LinkOpensChest_wav · 4 pointsr/EDH

Here's what I do: I put them in these first, and then slide these postcard sleeves over the top. The postcard sleeves fit perfectly over the top of the Ultra Pro oversized commander sleeves. There is a little overhang at the bottom which can be easily trimmed with a hobby knife if it bothers you. So it's sort of a reverse double sleeving, but just as protected nevertheless.

I have seen this suggestion around this subreddit earlier this year and I gave it a shot with great success.

I bought a cheap camera back similar to this one on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Estarer-Camera-Backpack-Digital-Accessories/dp/B07F2T6H4Q/ref=zg_bs_172437_43?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=Q059NJD4KDCKTQ6SP439

Apparently, camera equipment are the same size as 100-cards deck boxes! I can put tokens, dice in zipper pockets and I carry 8 different edh decks in it, which saves me the trouble of carrying many different bags (and forgetting them by accident)

u/GenerousWineMerchant · 1 pointr/EDH

Mostly I just use sleeves and deck boxes with art that I like. Mostly.

I did get [[Ghired, Conclave Exile]] sleeves and deck box because I like the art and have a Ghired deck.

I bought this custom art playmat because I think it looks good. I'm also going to put together an Angel tribal EDH deck some day.

This may seem like a joke, but I seriously love these.

Hmm I was looking at amazon and found this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779Z1VLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3A.VDbTV9J97B

Judging by the reviews, it looks like it can fit 1000 double sleeved cards. Someone mentioned 800 double sleeved card in 4 rows and used the 5th row of misc accessories.

But personally for me in use something similar to these:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FO802R4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_aE.VDb45ZQBGR

I buy them at my LGS that sells them for pretty cheap and put them into my backpack ( 3 at most). Each can hold abt 3 decks each.

It's not the sexiest way to carry around decks, but it sure is cheap and effective...

u/Tropicalkings · 4 pointsr/EDH

As stated in other comments a cheap DSLR backpack will work well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VPE1WK/

Another option is a part organizer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008J2IQ34
Or
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001G1CUK0/

This one can hold up to 12 double sleeved EDH decks.

Always be on the lookout, some of the best deckboxes out there are not made for cards but happen to work better than branded crap. I like to use the boxes my cellphone came in to hold whatever deck I take to FNM.

u/PHOTON_BANDIT · 1 pointr/EDH

we must be talking about different boxes lol

http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tower-Deck-Box-Black/dp/B00DHQSG6O

perhaps i wasnt using the right name lol.

this one has a magnetic latch

u/ShockwaveMTME · 3 pointsr/EDH

May i suggest this?

It allows you to keep 3 double sleeved Decks easily.

This may also suit your needs if you prefer a more fashionable exterior and secured from accidental opening.

u/xAFBx · 1 pointr/EDH

I don't know if this is there I found them but it looks like Amazon has them.

Supplies: Clear Inkjet Printable Film with Adhesive Backing, Inkjet Printer, Software that allows you to specify the size of printed image (for example OpenOffice), Foil Magic Card, Acetone (aka Nail Polish Remover), Cotton Balls/Paper Towels, Newspaper/Packing Paper (or any surface cover that you don't mind getting ink on), Masking Tape/Painter's Tape (or any tape that will peel away from a magic card without tearing the magic card), Scissors.

Roll masking tape into 4 small cylinders with sticky side out. On the back of the foil magic card, tape the back corners to the newspaper using the masking tape cylinders. Wet cotton balls with acetone. Rub the front of the foil magic card using the acetone-wet cotton balls to remove ink from the front of the foil magic card towards the newspaper. Once all ink is removed, you should have a magic card with a blank foil front.

Download digital alter image. Open the digital alter image in your software. Resize image to approximately 63 mm x 88 mm (2.48 inches x 3.46 inches) while preserving aspect ratio. You can probably fit 4 images per page, so also try a few sizes bigger and smaller, in case your printer prints slightly smaller or bigger than you specified. Load clear inkjet printable film in inkjet printer. Print page of images. Let the page dry for at least 10 minutes.

Cut image stickers out using scissors. Peel adhesive backing from image sticker. Align corners of cut-out image sticker over the blank foil magic card, and lower the image sticker down very slowly. You only get 1 chance at adhering the image sticker to the blank foil magic card. Go very slowly. If you adhere it mis-aligned, it is nearly impossible to separate the sticker image from the magic card, you will probably permanently bend the magic card, and the adhesive will smudge and look like a blotch in the artwork.

Due to the thickness of the clear printable film, the printed card will not fit in an inner sleeve, and will sometimes not fit in a normal sleeve unless you cut the edges even more with scissors.

Here is an example digital alter image

I've had this link saved for a while since someone posted a full art foil black lotus. You can make your proxies on this and stick it to acetoned foils and it turns out pretty well. Not super extra thick and not noticeable if you double sleeve the non proxies

If you want boxes for all of them, the most efficient options for 100 sleeved cards are here:

Single boxes
https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/search/?q=Deck+box+100+cards

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/fantasy-flight-supply/products/deck-box-black/

These also include detachable dice compartments if you want to include a couple of D20s and D6s for life and counters.

Or

Dual boxes

Pro Tower Deck Box, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DHQSG6O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_PDqgAbM6J9FN4

These hold 2 decks, and come with an extra slot that holds 10ish sleeved cards, or any die smaller than a standard D20.
