I'm a fellow American convert myself. Its a strange position to be in because, essentially, our allegiance is arbitrary. But after falling in love with Everton during their 4th place finish in 2005, I have spent the past 7 years enthralled by the choice I made. This club really is great from the manager on down. Rarely a favorite, but always a contender, they can provide thrilling upsets (see: any game played in the second half to the past few seasons) as well as incredibly frustrating defeats (see: most games in the first few fixtures in the past couple seasons).
I'm fairly sure you've found these already, but I loved these websites when I first stated learning about the team:
http://www.toffeeweb.com/
http://www.nsno.co.uk/
And here are two books I ordered and have enjoyed:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-100-Greatest-Everton-Moments/dp/140923178X
http://www.amazon.co.uk/When-Football-Was-Everton-Nostalgic/dp/0857330462/ref=pd_sim_b_6
This only covers up to the late 80s but my dad gave it to me when I was a young kid and I must have read it cover to cover a couple of dozen times growing up, really good book. It's called Forever Everton and you can get it off Amazon for less than £3 inc. postage

Note I have a massive amount of nostalgia for this book that might cloud my judgement but I loved reading it.
Just got home for the weekend to visit the family (mostly the dogs). Class and my first time living alone has been going for 3 weeks now, I'm having a good time. Eagerly waiting for the fall. Not just for that though, for Everton as well.
My personal life is still a shambles though and will probably continue to be for a while. Girlfriend 3 of the year went like the first two, not well at all. I should just chill at this point.
He's the best Everton writer by such a distance it's untrue.
Everyone should have a copy of this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Whats-Name-Everton-Mark-OBrien/dp/1903158540
Especially overseas fans looking to understand the life of a Blue.
Enjoyed this one - https://www.amazon.com/Everton-School-Science-James-Corbett-ebook/dp/B004GEAOZC
Was published in 2010 so covers from the beginning up to about three-fourths of Moyes' tenure.
Didn’t know Delph was interested in climate change.
I bought it in 2015. Looks like it's not available now but here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NWSD7KC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Also, Tim's new book is on sale for $17.76 from Amazon.

Keoghan's newest book just came out last month: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Everton-Greatest-Games-Toffees-Matches/dp/1785313142
My minds just been flooded with Ferguson flashbacks now.
It reminded that his book is also out this Thursday (August 14th). "In Search of Duncan Ferguson". Really can't wait to have a read of this, should be some cracking stories in there.
