So I have tried 7 different stash jars other than the ones offered by the dispensaries, most available from Amazon and two I got free from either a vape store or direct from the manufacturer. All have some pluses and minus. None are larger than 1/4oz because I don't have more than 1/4 of any one strain at a time or I just split them into two. None of the links are affilate links and I don't make anything from any of these just my honest reviews.

From left to right. Starting with 1/4oz jars.

The Formline wide mouth. It's easy to get stuff in and out and came with a super hand padded travel case. That is about all the nice things I'm going to say about these. If they turn upside down they will leak small bits of shit out of them (like kief and such) and they aren't really smell proof so I imagine air is also getting into them with no problems. I for sure will not buy them again. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078SQZ426/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Next is the 1/4 Masterdam Jar. For this style I really like it. It keeps everything in it, I don't smell my flower once it's in it. It came with one boveda packet which was nice. My flower always looks and smells exactly the same as it did when it went it. The downsides, they are big, they are so wide they take up tons of space in the storage bags. They are also the most expensive of the choices. If you like this style then they are a good choice. And I do like this brand a lot. I have bought a couple of these. I dont like that they don't come any smaller. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U7F1I9U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Next are the Ablaze ones. They came 3 to a pack and are also nice. They are taller but still 1/4oz. This is the design I like the most. The taller ones. They fit the most easily into storage bags and you can fit a lot of them. This brand is fine, they hold smells in and I don't notice particles falling out. They didn't come with boveda packs like some of the others do so you'll have to buy them separate but you'll probably do that anyway so that wasn't a deal breaker for me. The one big drawback that irrates me but it seems to just be a thing on this size and shape is in the bottom of the jar is a ridge that fine particles get stuck into, I constantly find myself with a poker trying to loosen stuff out of it. Again not the end of the world and the others have it too but the wide mouth ones don't. They came with those sticker but I didn't put them on the jars. They also came with a card that said to email them for a free gift, I never did so I don't know what that was. The thing I like the most about these is the price. I would for sure buy these again. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L568VRZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Next up are the HerbGuard 1/4oz version. These are my favorite of all of them. I like the flat top design. They stand just a hair shorter than the Ablaze ones so the chalk pens I write strains on the top doesn't wipe off into the top of my cases where it does on the rounded top ones. Also these came with some handy black envelopes and a plastic scoop. The little envelopes I store seeds in since it keeps light and air out and the scoop is super handy, you know for scooping. These are the ones I come back and buy the most of. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LVTKAFT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Next to that is the most unique of all of them and that's the Stashlogix SmartJar. It's only an 1/8oz sized and that's the only size it comes in. But it has a handy little temp and humidity readout on top and a label you can write on and wipe off on the side. I like that I can look down and know that it's keeping my buds at the right humidty and such all the time. I don't like that from the top down I can't tell what strain it is (if you had more than one) and that it's clear glass. That means it's not blocking UV light that can damage your buds if you don't store it in a dark place. I didn't pay for this one it was sent to me as a gift when my bag broke and they replaced it. I like it but I don't think I would buy another one at the price. Well I know I wouldn't because I haven't https://stashlogix.co/collections/all-storage/products/hygrojar

Next to that on the end is the 1/8oz jar from Green Protect. I actually really like this little one. It's handy when you have only a small amount of something to not have to put it into a huge jar and have all that excess air in it ruining your good stuff. It's easy to have a bunch of them because they are small and not that you should travel with your bud in anything other than the white jars or envelopes that they come in but if you did they are discrete and fit in a pocket. It also came with UV resistant black envelopes and a big black drawstring bag (that I'll never use). I'll for sure buy more of these as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FKCHLC3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And last is the little tall one in the back. It's a TightVac, I have no idea what size, small. Maybe 1/8oz maybe less. I got it free from Planet of the Vapes when I bought something from them. It is all plastic and I never use it. It has a little button on the side that purges the air out of it and seals the lid on so you have to push the button to get it off. It does a great job of sealing in smells and not letting stuff out. The lid I don't ever worry about coming off but I also don't ever use it. It again was free. I don't have a link to where to get one. Google Tightvac. I wouldn't buy another one.

So there you go.

btw the "V2 Splinter" is still in stock. The only difference is the V2 is Blackwood and $45.50 instead of $39. Btw it's totally worth the extra, the Blackwoods are all differnt but some has some amazing patterns... especially while your medicating. But yeah having a nice box mod is great, Splinter for flower, Sai for concentrate, and even carts with one device.

Btw I'd also recommend a charger like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07428G1G2. These are great they can charge fast when you need it and slow when you don't and they can completely drain and file your batteries every now and then, which can help get extra life out of the same batteries.

Excellent! Thank you!

One question for you:

I had purchased a few lure-lock blunt tip dispensing needles, like these: https://www.amazon.com/Blunt-Dispensing-Needle-Olive-Green/dp/B001QRZ31C

I purchased from a different seller last time, and I noticed when I squeezed the TruClear into the pod it looked "foggy" in comparison to a new TruPod. Wasn't sure if this was because of any particulate in the dispensing needle? Have you experienced something like this?

Tried with 2 different tips/pods/TruClears and same result.

I notice a slightly harsher taste difference in the one I filled myself and so far my hypotheses for the foggy/harshness is any of the following:

  • Air bubbles/gaps from self-dispensing the oil into the pod (?)
  • Particulate in the syringe tip (?)
  • Darker/lighter distillates mixing together, a.k.a. the new truclear mixing with whatever the old pod had in it.

What's your method for emptying the syringe into a pod (including heat up method)?

I tried using hot/boiling water and it sorta works but I haven't been able to time it right where the distillate is really liquid, it still comes out super thick even after holding in the hot water for a good 30 seconds.

I'm scared of contaminating the medicine I'll be vaping in my lungs. Or, am I over thinking this and is this a common occurrence when moving the TruClear to the pod?

I'm hoping to reap the benefits of only paying $60 for a refill syringe and dispensing into my own distillate-supporting cartridges, as opposed to the $94 for a pre-filled pod or the $74 MCT oil cut carts.

Big ups to Trulieve for their continued support, and to you /u/FloridaMMJInfo for posting up all this info and sparking these conversations :)

2nd link is just a cap... You can use a push on needle tip works fine. The first link will "lock" the needle onto syringe but not 100% necessary... If you get something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01K1VO3E6/ref=pd_aw_fbt_328_img_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=CTE7TVHA387F1V8PPMNE sorry i don't know how to do link how you did...

You can just push it on the syringe really hard and warm up the syringe with a couple passes from a lighter... It comes out pretty easy once warm.. Warm the carts to so oil flows to bottom easily...

My Vision II spinner has 4 settings 3.3V 3.8V 4.3V 4.8V.

1 truclear syringe. I used GDP

1 unflavored gelatin packet

1/2 teaspoon corn starch

1/2 teaspoon lecithin granules (I had to get these at GNC myself)

1 jello packet, with sugar tho. 3 oz. We used blue.

Some measuring cups (1 large one)I got those molds off amazon these ones! It included the little syringe thingy.

and a good mixing utensil! Preferably silicon. A good saucepan also, I used a rather small one. Don't want anything sticking!

Recipe:

1/3 cup water + 2 tablespoons. Next time I'm going to try fruit juice. Put that into a pan.

Add the lecithin granules 1/2 teaspoon, stir well.

Add the unflavored gelatin. Stir that well.

Wait about 5 minutes for it to get really....gooey?

While doing this you need to get your distillate to be more runny. I chose to put mine inside a plastic bag, which I submerged in water. I pulled the syringe part off a bit so I could see how runny it was.

Move your saucepan to the heat on low. Stir it occasionally until everything is liquid (granules suck) but do not boil.

Once it's liquified, add a generous 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch. Mix that well. IT will take a second until it's completely mixed in.

Add the jello packet and mix in.

Now you add and generously mix your distillate to the jello and keep the heat on it briefly while mixing to ensure it gets throughout.

Put them into the molds and refrigerate 30 minutes.

and finished!we used blue raspberry.

I personally, took the remaining distillate and submerged the whole syringe into my tea. Waste not, want not. Made about 130, around 6 mg of THC each.

Ammunition boxes work awesome! They're airtight and water tight, in a funny way, you store ammo the same way you'd wanna store weed. On top of that, most ammo boxes have a built-in latch so you can place a pad lock on it! I have a plastic one coming in the mail that will work great, but I also have a metal one, both will work great.

We both have a good sense of smell.

Your pigeon-holing comment sums it up tightly.

I mentioned this possibility elsewhere and was quickly "corrected" by a concentrate fan. And I don't blame fellow patients for freaking on the idea that concentrate is next.

But I do not need a tin foil hat to follow the money. Who stands to benefit the most from a flower THC cap? The people who could make more money if there was one...the concentrate producers.

Why?

It's just like the grocery stores--they carry fresh produce at a profit loss to LOOK GOOD to the customers. They make a gazillion percent profit on the inner aisles' value-added products with much longer shelf lives.

And my suspicions get worse--the industry is into divide-and-conquer. Now concentrate fans and flower fans are set up to be at odds with each other. https://www.amazon.com/Divide-Conquer-Customers-Through-Segmentation/dp/0471176338

Oh, and some redditor also recently mentioned "the shakedown" to up industry donations to campaigns etc.

Okay, so the distillate syringes in Florida don't seem to have blunt tips for easy filling. I recommend buying 1/2" to 1" blunt tip needles. Here are the ones I purchased.

You basically put the blunt tip on the syringe, use a blow-dryer to blow hot air onto the syringe, and then when the oil is thin enough (you will see a bubble that is able to move, it doesn't move when you first get it because the oil is so thick) you will put it into an empty cart. This refillable cartridge, aka the SPRK cartridge seems to be people's favorite for refilling here. I have two and they work great. You will want a battery (aka "pen") to put your cartridges onto. They are called "510" threaded batteries. Any headshop will know what you want if you walk in asking for a battery.

I use these. They come with a humidity pack that keeps your herb fresh.

It's a Load-as-You-Go device that works best when you use small amounts of concentrate ~ the size of a bb (4.3mm). Any more than that and you risk overloading the coil and burning the oil and/or making a splattery mess by the time you do manage to vape it all out of there.

Hair dryers work great for heating up the syringes and with a bit of practice, you can use a heat gun to get the oil to the consistency of water in a matter of seconds.

Used 14g blunt tips and they worked great, cheap for 100: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K1VO3E6

I just put my regular dose in the capsule. All the capsules in dispensaries contain distillate mixed with mct oil (which is why they are so full). I usually just squeeze out a small amount (~25 mgs) and put it into a capsule without mct oil though. i feel like if i took a third of a syringe at a time i would be so stoned i wouldnt know i was stoned lol. Anyways these are the empty caps i use-

https://www.amazon.com/Clear-Empty-Gelatin-Capsules-Capsuline/dp/B00PYV9D6M/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=empty+capsules&qid=1563396147&s=gateway&sr=8-11

I usually take right before or after I eat and feel an effect in around 30 -90 mins

you can also just eat distillate. you can literally just put some in your mouth and swallow it, put it in ice cream, on a cracker, etc etc. you can really make any edible you want with it because its already active so you dont have to do anything but mixing it into your food.
