No, there is no bubble under the glass, no distance between when your finger or stylus pushes down and the screen. With the case i am using the screen protector and case meet almost exactly but don't touch. My guess is that prblems happen if your case pushes up on the protector. I'm sure that would be true of every screen protector. Mine is exactly perfect distance on the sides. However, a tiny amout of dust can gather at the top and bottom of the phone because there is a very tiny gap between my case and the screen protector. Right now no dust has gotten between the screen protector and the phone. Anyway, I just got an email from the company this morning asking if everything was still satisfactory and saying if anything was wrong they would send a new one. I know thos is true because the first one i got for my S7 was a dud and they sent a new one within a couple days and that is going strong for like a year. Hope this helps!
ETA: for reference this is the case im using Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal Galaxy Note 8 Case with Clear Hard Casing and Reinforced Hard Bumper Frame for Galaxy Note 8 (2017) - Deep Sea Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073R7K569?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

If you find one, let me know.

Every holster's clip I've seen has been made of plastic.

https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Galaxy-Wallet-Design-Holder/dp/B073RWKCQ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1518670908&sr=8-2&keywords=spigen+wallet+case+note+8

My personal favorite wallet case. Holds 2 cards, does not come with a holster or phone clip.

I used to run it with the holster from this case:
https://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Samsung-Absorbing-Protective-Kickstand/dp/B074M77J5Q/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1518670963&sr=1-3&keywords=moko+note+8+case

I really like the case on this one (am using it right now), I just wish the kickstand faced the opposite direction and they made the 3.5mm port a little bigger (i carved my second copy out with a knife, really easy fix). I no longer recommend the clip that comes with this case, it's a metal pin through plastic that breaks stupidly easily. I'm only posting it here to alert you to NOT buy a plastic clip like this one, it will NOT hold up to every day use. Despite that, it was my favorite combo. Even though the spigen wasn't specifically made for that holster, it worked far better than the moko case it came with. Go figure.

There are some actual holsters that loop through your belt and are made of leather. Personally, I don't like them as you have to take your belt off if you want to take the holster off, and none of them can double as a kickstand. If you don't need a kickstand, then I would recommend one of those types of holsters. Really any of them should do. I think the spigen case I linked above and a generic belt-loop holster from amazon will work for your needs.

I've actually looked at this case for my Note 8, but after getting it during a sale for my iPhone X, I've steered clear of it. It's got the exact same problem on the X that you've seen other people say about the Note 8. It's loose on the sides. It sucks, because everything else about the case is awesome. The grip, the way the back feels, etc.

If you want a decently slim case for the Note 8 that still offers good protection, good grip, and a lay on the table design, I've been very happy with this SaharaCase. I've used them on multiple phones for years and always liked them.

It's surprisingly good. I'm still experiencing excellent battery life and still getting around 2 days of charge. I have had no issues with lag or slow down. It gets to the point to where I get annoyed with the "You haven't restarted your phone in 7 days" message. I can't remember a phone where I really didn't need to restart it after a couple days to see a noticeable speed boost.

The dual apps are still amazing. I do have some issues with the keyboard at times (using SwiftKey.) I don't know what it is but I tend to hit the period button while going for the space bar. I believe it is the curved screen that makes me hit it a bit early. It's a minor detail but frustrating.

I did have to move to a more enclosed case because the curved glass screens kept cracking in my pocket. I put on a case that makes it a bit heftier (more like a Nexus 6 than a Samsung product) but it's been worth it for the safety. I've dropped the phone a multitude of times and it's been fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075XJYYXN/ this is the case in case you are wondering.

Anyway, still love this phone. I'm hoping it keeps on keeping on through the second year. Most Samsung products take an intense nose dive (in my experience) after 18 months. I think this one might last longer.

  1. 10ml LOCA UV GLUE - Xfactor PREMIUM GRADE LOCA (Liquid Optical Clear Adhesive) - LOW Viscosity !! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IOPYLJE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_nPJvJZ9t8L2NR

I also used a template that was bundled with the Beetle Supcase Tempered glass to make it easy.

When applying the LOCA put in the center of the phone a capatlized "i". Octopus LOCA includes a mL measurement and you should put near 5mL. It will get messy. That's the advantage of the WhiteStone Dome as they give you a lower viscosity with the right measurement needed.

Make sure you put tape in all coverings. People will say painters tape, but I use Shipping tape with good adhesive. My first try, painters tape lifted and I got glue over my speaker. If this happens, make sure you put the phone in the UV light. It's easier to remove dried than piece by piece. But if you put good adhesive tape this will not happen.

Check out this case, it's like the tough armor, but has some features I like better: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074XZ16ZH/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1506724835&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=youmaker%2Bnote%2B8%2Bcase&dpPl=1&dpID=515%2BfLMWG0L&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1

First, it's a three part case with a plastic insert that holds down screen protectors rather than pushing them up like my old tough armor did. Second, it doesn't have that stupid little kickstand that breaks for everything. And third, it has no visible branding when it's on the phone, which is something I absolutely hated on my tough armor. And fourth, it's extremely cheap while being very protective.

On a side note, Youmaker makes a bulky case that comes with a belt clip and is a great second case to have for when you're in places where a thin case just isn't enough.

I don't have any pics and don't really want to take them, but there are plenty of customer images on both cases that should give you a pretty good idea of how they look.

Hope this helps

Its very tough. I am 190lbs and have to fit into my seats which have pretty big side bolsters. The first one broke when kind of slid in the seat causing the bottom of the holdster to get caught on the edge thus pulling it apart. When I showed Encased the screenshot of what happened, they sent a new one. I have had the note 8 since February with no issues. I recommend getting the Tough armor variant since it will work with other types of cases. Actually the Tough armor is one of my favorite cases, I love the kickstand and it complements the case very nicely. Good luck in your search.

I used to work in the case industry, so thought I could help out here.

I just wrote this in another thread, so I'm copying and pasting the relevant portion:

Bumpers only work under ideal scenarios. If you look at it from a surface area perspective, you increase the chances of destroying your phone by 2 times as much as a traditional case by having another side of the phone exposed. For example, when asphalt becomes old, it becomes jagged and rough, and dropping your phone on such a surface will almost certainly destroy it. Bumpers are only "safe" if the design is optimal AND you are in a location with smooth and flat floors with nothing else protruding in the vicinity that can make your phone hit its screen or back (like a chair or a table leg).

Personally, I've had the most success with this case. Clear TPU—especially with little dots inside—is the best at dissipating the force from impact while being relatively thin and unobtrusive.

I installed my first Whitestone a while back, and it barely fit with this case. In the end, it cracked, but I think the case might have put too much pressure on it occasionally here and there. I have a second one I haven't bothered with yet, but you have to make sure these things are perfectly aligned to be compatible with cases or bumpers at all.

Got my Spigen for the 9 to 5 stuff, but this is for the weekends out in the wilds with the lads.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074W39X1H/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_1

Integral screen protector is actually pretty good. Smooth as glass and S Pen works just as before. Some loss of sensitivity towards the very edges, but that's fair sacrifice for ultra drop protection.

Get home safely and pop the naked phone out and enjoy it as Samsung intended.

u/WinifredSandersn1692 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

The thinnest (and my favorite) is the lumion on the bottom left. Feels nice and looks like it will offer good protection without being bulky. This is the link from Amazon. I'll use this one most likely!

u/HoofaKingFarted · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

Spigen Air Skin is the best case for people that love the naked feel but want the slightest protection. Feels great.

u/terekkincaid · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I've used Encased cases (a relatively new brand) and not had any problems with wireless charging: Galaxy Note 8 Belt Clip Case, Encased Slim Fit Holster Shell Combo (w/ Rubberized Grip Finish) Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074TTHD8B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_G0vPzbC3S2KQY

I like holsters, so it's perfect for me. But it's a good slim case and pretty cheap even if you throw the holster away.

u/asdjfweaiv · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I like slim cases. These are the two that I have used and liked:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RW983G

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074H19TPD

I'm currently using the Spigen because I like the little magnetic kickstand, although I generally prefer and use Ringke cases because they have better buttons. I've dropped mine twice (!) onto asphalt so far, not a scratch or ding on the phone either time.

u/just_a_human_online · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

It was this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075PCSB1C/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Currently not available, but it worked pretty well. I didn't use it too much because it didn't work out too well with my phone holder in my car.

u/mini4x · 7 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

I get it, you pay good money for a nice looking device and cover it up so it can't be seen.

I use a Spigen clear, like this, you can still see the phone and had some protection.

https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Hybrid-Designed-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B073RWDNLH

u/ybysaiah1980 · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I always used a tempered glass screen protector on my Note 2 and Note 4 but decided to forego it on the Note 8 because of the silly curved edges. I use the S-Pen almost exclusively and the bare screen was starting to show some "wear" where I dragged to scroll. Not really scratched but more like some coating had worn off. I decided to try a wet-applied stick-on protector - the Spigen NeoFlex Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector specifically. I'm very happy with the appearance and performance so far and probably should have done this a while ago.

u/SpontaneousLightBulb · 9 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

Looks like on the Samsung store on Amazon it's $19.74.

edit: Amazon Warehouse Deals (returned ones) has them at $14.16 and $14.96 too. But yeah looks like those have options to have them sold and shipped by amazon.com as the seller.

u/hegrekarde · 3 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

I used this TGSP with this adhesive & a 36w UV lamp. Cost boils out to about the same as a Whitestone, but now I have plenty of adhesive left for redoing it, or other phones, etc. Just need to buy another $10-15 clear TGSP, & I'm ready to go.

u/gigatigga2 · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I got this one, and like it a lot. For the prices, spigen is really putting out some great stuff. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RW983G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/sf49ers65 · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I'm currently using this case with mine and I like it.

I've also used the official rugged case and it's good as well.

This is the case I ordered for me. I had a holster for my Sony Xperia Z3 and honestly missed using one again. Plus, the idea of digging a 6.3" phone out of my pocket, yeah no thanks. Lol.

u/jonsonsama · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I use this. Not exactly clear but it still shows the color through the case

u/radddchaddd · 3 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

Currently using this Spigen case, which has been great. Dropped my phone already and it didn't have any issues.

u/realrao · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

The pen might be dead. I had intermittent sensitivity issues on the pen that came with my phone as well. If your troubleshooting comes up empty you could buy a replacement S pen on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074GB37V7?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

I bought one a few months ago because of low sensitivity which was, I suspect, caused by a loose connection in the pen. I was a little worried about the authenticity but I can confirm that the one that's "sold by Amazon" is legitimate. I've been using it for a few months and it works better than my old s pen. Comes in the official sealed Samsung packaging too. I got it on sale for $22 but it seems to have gone up to $30, which is still discounted from MSRP. Totally worth it though, if you need a replacement

u/Jonlife · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

Went with this one Spigen Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector NeoFlex / 2 Pack / Case Friendly / Wet Application for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 2017 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073V4FGQK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ndyOzbN282EJC

u/bonisaur · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073V4FGQK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It does not work well with the Ringke cases though. I picked up something from Spigen just in case it works better.

u/2DLogic · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

Slim and aesthetically fitting are probably more important than they should be to me when going for a case.

I just bought both of these. Both are nice, but I think I prefer the hard case even though it is slightly thicker.

I like the cases that have portrait stand. When I sit at a table I can stand it upright and surf while I eat, I can also lay it down landscape for videos but usually I am checking out reddit at lunch
