I tried two tempered glass ones. The bad part was horrible sensitivity.

I bought this:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071L37FZP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a dry application. It's $5 for 3, so it's pretty cheap stuff (can be both a good and bad thing). Not sure if the cheapness affects its durability. I've had one of these on for about a month now. It looks beautiful because it fits perfectly in my UAG Monarch case and is "full." The only drawback would be the scratches it slowly accumulates (not sure how it compares to others), but I don't really care too much as long as it protects my screen.

I haven't tried the wet applications, but you say they lose screen clarity? I was planning to get the wet application for the self healing, but if I lose clarity, thanks for letting me know.

I've been very happy with this protector for three reasons: barely can tell it's there, it hasn't had any edges coming off besides two spots on the right side that were there from the beginning (hasn't gotten worse, even with multiple water dunks, but alittle more dusty in those two locations after a month), and that the sensitivity is basically 100%. It feels great to use.

Can't really speak for the Whitestone. I'm just glad my screen is protected, looks, feels, and works great with this dry protector.

Not sure how much better quality a higher priced protector would be. I just really liked the "full coverage" build of this one.

I would definitely wear a protector. My screen got a veryy skinny but relatively long microscratch under the screen, with the tempered glass screen protector on it.

See update here which includes a Ringke case review:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS8/comments/6a6syd/update_four_thin_cases_reviewed_1/

Original post:

Top to bottom:

  • elago (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHFYJM7/)
  • Bear Motion (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XRVK3WS/)
  • Maxboost mSnap (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XS8R8TK/)
  • Spigen Thin Fit (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XP54BCW/)

I've been trying out these four thin cases. In the image you can see my S8 face down in each case, with a Verizon tempered glass screen protector on. You can see the edge of it, a white line which curves downward at each end.

I'm thinking of removing the screen protector, so I took these photos to see which case would provide the most protection when the S8 is face down without a screen protector. The Spigen has a raised lip at the top and bottom of the case that just barely keeps the screen protector off the surface below. The Maxboost lips are about even with the screen protector. The Bear Motion lips barely rise above the S8 screen, and there are no lips on the elago.

The Spigen is the most robust case and is the biggest weighing 18 grams, has a raised lip around the camera for extra protection (you can see it in the bottom picture), has space for a metal plate for a magnetic car mount (if you like that sort of thing), and is made of a grippy matte material. Definitely this feels like the case with the most protection. Very nice.

The Maxboost is slightly smaller than the Spigen and weighs 17 grams. It's matte material is a bit less grippy and the buttons aren't as easy to press because the openings aren't cut away like the Spigen. There is no raised lip for the camera. I like it though because it is slightly smaller than the Spigen.

The Bear Motion is made of a sandy feeling matte material that provides great grip. It is about the same size as the Maxboost but only weighs 13 grams and has cut-away button openings and a very small raised lip for the camera. I like it too!

The elago is extremely thin, weighing only 5 grams. It is barely bigger than the phone itself. It is so thin that mine got a small rip near the power button on the right when I was taking it on and off, and the left side is slightly loose, not as snug as the right. Buttons are easy to press as they actually protrude beyond the sides of the case! It is matte, grippy but not quite as grippy as the others. It also has a small raised lip for the camera. It feels great in the hand but doesn't give confidence as it has no protection to speak of except for scratches and fingerprints.

Although size-wise the Spigen is my least favorite, I may end up using it because it inspires the most confidence, seems like it might do better in a drop situation, while protecting the screen better when the phone is face down due to having the largest top and bottom lips, and also the biggest lip around the camera.
u/SoldierZulu · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Second one is way too thick on the edges. My wife has the first one on her iPhone 6S and it's a great case. Buttons are free floating and nice and clicky. Does scratch/scuff really easy though, just FYI. Might want to replace it every 6 months like she does because it just looks dirty and ruins the clarity after enough regular use. You'll see.

I've ordered 3 Spigen cases so far:

[Spigen Liquid Crystal Galaxy S8 Plus Case] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP4QY2B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_l1Esrmt4SeapO)

[Spigen Thin Fit Galaxy S8 Plus Case with SF Coated Non Slip Matte Surface - Black] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP4LGHJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_yqDyxiHODk9R9)

[Spigen Air Skin Galaxy S8 Plus Case - Black] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP5JSRL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oky.ybYW997M0)

I've only had the chance to try the first two, and the Liquid Crystal case sucks. The buttons aren't separate from the rubberish case and they're mushy. I won't deal with mushy buttons.

Ordered the Thin Fit instead and it's better but the material is a cheap hard plastic that reminds me of lower quality android phones or the older S2/S3 models. There are also breaks in the corners so you can snap it in because the plastic is so hard, and it kinda ruins the rounded, flowing aesthetic. The hard plastic cutouts on the bottom for ports and such cut into my fingers when the phone rests on it and that sucks. The areas for buttons are cut out completely which is really nice, since I like direct access to buttons. Definitely better than the Crystal, still not great at all.

The third gets here tomorrow and I'll review it when it does. It still has cutouts for the buttons which I like but they are smaller, which means more protection which I also like. The material also has no corner breaks and it's very thin while also tinted black and partially transparent, so hopefully some of the shine and aesthetics come through. The best part about it for me that I think I'll like the most is that the entire bottom is cut out, so I can rest my phone more comfortably on my fingers. I know it's almost practically just a skin on the back since it's so thin, but it has adequate corner protection and I take good care of my phones. Main goal is to avoid scratches and the occasional light fall.

If the last one doesn't work out I'll just get a transparent Neo Hybrid (first one you linked, not OP's). I at least know the quality of that case. I just wanted something a bit thinner this time around. Oh well.

I bought a tech21 check case. It has a good grip to me, but it's also a 30-40 dollar case. I have been looking at some of the cases on Amazon trying to decide if I want to throw down some money and try some other cases to see if I'd like them better.

Since there are no tempered glass screen protectors worth looking at right now and they tend to be very expensive for how crap they are. I was looking at getting some Spigen S8 Plus NeoFlex film covers

Since they are Spigen I am hoping a case from Spigen will fit with the film covers and not cause the edges to pucker and unstick.

So I am looking at Spigen Rugged Armor S8 Plus

Along with some other cases from Spigen.

Plus considering the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle PRO

But I have no basis off which to judge if those cases will be grippy enough to match the Tech21 case I have currently. I would like to get the Beetle Pro with the Spigen film covers (don't know if they will work together), because the holster with the pro would be nice to have in some circumstances with the phone. Kind of debating on getting two cases since they'd almost be about the same cost as my Tech21.

If anyone reads this thread and has input on any of those or ones they think might better match the Tech21 Evo Check, please let me know.

u/peanhut · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I tried a wet install from Amazon too (Yootech) and it's decent, but I don't prefer it to screen protectors I had in the past. It has slight orange peel to it, and picks up lines/scratches easily as it seems a bit soft (softer material makes for better edge install).

On other phones I've had good luck with PET type screen protectors, not sure if there's a good one for s8 out since the curved screen has been difficult for many brands to make a quality solution (harder material, tougher to install on edges). The one option out there that wraps around the phone is the Invisible Defender:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y999MWZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_dp_T2_9UHGzb4FTG62R

I prefer the dry install types so I might give this one a try if the price comes down. Dry is always harder to install, I'm guessing more so on this phone, but I've been good at it over years of installing for friends and such.

u/Pinanims · 4 pointsr/GalaxyS8

Alright, everyone keeps telling you to be careful, which I guess you already know, i'm going to give you the benefit of a doubt and say that maybe you cracked it once by accident, it happens, and the second time was because your phone screen was already weak from being replaced... I'll say it's no fault except bad luck. Shit happens.

My recommendation is just bite the bullet on spending a little more than you want to for phone protection, it will save so you much money in the long run. Screens are $200 - $300 dollars to replace, when you can just spend $75 now and protect it. So here's what i think will help.

  • Get a case
  • The one that is most reccomended after me spending DAYS going through threads and looking for solid cases is the Spigen Neo Hybrid ($13.99). Slim case with actual protection.

  • Get a screen protector
  • Also through my research is that the TG (Tempered Glass) protectors are all awful except for the Whitestone Dome ($44.99). Is a hard pill to swallow but it's the only glass that fits well, no reduction in sensitivity, and has full screen adhesive to keep from having those ugly rings around the edge of your screen or having those black bars. I reccommend this because you seem to crack your phone, rather than scratch it, this may save your screen a ton.

  • If you reeeallyy don't want to swallow the $50 then most people just go with a wet applied film to just help from scratches and possibly a minor crack. Most people settle for the IQ Shield LIQuid Skin ($7.85). It's just a skin but it may save you in the end.

  • Get a stand
  • It will keep your phone more secure on your desk rather than having to deal with knocking it off when reaching for your glasses. Any cheap stand can work. I went with the Econstyle Stand ($7.99) because it's easy to move from my side table by my bed, to my desk by my compute. Just some extra security and ca keep your phone from getting any scratches from laying it face first on a hard surface.

  • If you want to get a little luxury you could always get Samsungs Fast Charging Wireless Charger ($39.99) which has a stand included so you just set your phone down and it's charging, but that's just extra luxuries and isn't necessary.

So you could spend a bit for some extra security that will save you time in the long run, or you can keep risking dropping your phone and breaking it. I bit the bullet and got the case, TG and stand and I haven't looked back. I actually dropped my phone first few days after having it, but thanks to my TG the damage was only there and it saved my screen completely.

this one , "Spigen Liquid Crystal"

VERY nice case, perfect mixture between drop safety and thinness

the only issue with it , like always with clear cases , is that its very prone to fingerprints.

by the way, is it just me or doesn't orchid grey look anywhere like on samsungs website ? its more like a dark grey, almost graphite like.

u/BMXKID4 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Look at the theme store find one you like, find some widgets on the app store that fit your needs. Look for icon packs. Here is my case, it is very thin and has a lip on the front to protect the screen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP1WB92/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apap_kkDbSt5RI7XQm. Just explore the settings and apps you have to make this phone right for you is what it takes honestly. Enjoy it though, it is a great phone, loving it.

u/Jayde9997 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

The s8+ feels great in the hand, especially coming from a Note 3. I would say I'm on the smaller side for how big a male hand is, but it's much easier to grip around the phone, even with a case on. I'm currently using this case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XS66SFG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and even with it on, it's still significantly thinner than the Note 3. And I don't have to worry about the metal edges getting damaged. I'm careful where I put the screen though. Also, with the case, it makes finding the finger print easier.

While it is a fair amount taller, I actually prefer it. The screen is gorgeous and makes up for the height. I watched a review recently where they said the regular s8, with it's curved edges, gives little amount of flat screen real estate, compared to the plus. Because of this, you're seeing a lot more glare on the screen. I can see where they are coming from, but to each their own.

u/XelaSiM · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Ive been using the Spigen Rugged Armor Galaxy S8 Plus Case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNW4ZVJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_ARiAMD6HF9ELr and love it. It keeps the phone relatively thin and works well with the look of the phone. It is the perfect balance between protection and size in my opion. It feels great in hand (Ladies!) And adds some much needed grip. Definitely recommend it. The only thing I'd add is a divider between the camera and finger print scanner like some of the Samsung cases.

I really want to the alcantara case as I love that suede feeling but am really hoping it drips in price a little.

u/DSF767 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I am really liking the Caseology Parallax. Its slim has lot of protection, its got some nice design on the side to increase grip and it is a nice looking case.

https://www.amazon.com/Caseology-Parallax-Geometric-Protection-Samsung/dp/B06XJ9BF3F/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1494154580&sr=1-2&keywords=s8+caseology

I also tried the Spigen Neo Hybrid and it was ok but I didnt feel the protection was all that ggreat and was very slippery I like the caseology much better.

Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand W/ AFC Wall Charger (US Version With Warranty), Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BMDQ9U8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_x1KHzbNASYVM8

This is what I use, it's an older model with the stand. Works fine but it likes for the phone to be pretty centered to charge. Also I couldn't get it to work until I used a very short micro usb cable to plug the charger into the wall adapter, your mileage may vary. I think the new version may work easier, bu t I can't speak on that.

u/jrsa2012 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I bough my Caseollogy Parallax cover (amazon link) few weeks ago and so far so good.

The cover provides a nice grip (usefull considering this is a very slippery phone) and survived some drops already.

Besides that, it also has a very good "premium" look, for an affordable price. :D

Nonetheless, I still think you will never be able to fully protect this screen, as some of the tempered glass screen protectors usually have some conflict with the case itself.

If you dont bother with increasing the thickness of your phone for an extra amount of protectiom, otterbox or lifeproof have some nice case examples.

u/drumzombie · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I have the i Blason rugged case.

Very similar to the Otterbox I've used in the past.
Bought it for the port dust covers. I work construction and always am finding debris in the headphone jack.
I love this case, doesn't feel too bulky while still feeling rugged.
Clear frosted back, good camera and sensor cutouts, and a nice grippy feel.
Very tight fit, so wouldn't be ideal if you plan on swapping cases daily.

Only downside is of course not being able to use a screen protector with it. Tried with a liquid applied protector, and the corners bunched up.

u/mattcalt · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Update: I put my case on it (this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XS66SFG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

It worked perfectly. It didn't mess with the protector. The protector doesn't go all the way to the egde, it is maybe a millimeter short. Therefore, there is the smallest gap between the case and the protector. I'm super pleased.

u/jhchuu · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I have the liquid crystal case in black for the s8+. Seems to essentially be the same case as the liquid air minus the print design on the back. I actually prefer the look of the smooth back. Profile of the case is pretty thin and i get pretty good grip. Overall i think it looks good if you are trying to go for a minimalistic look.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XP1WB92/ref=twister_B06XP6BSG7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

u/dclutter1 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

This screen protector is great. Goes on easy and looks and feels great.

u/doggexbay · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I've been using "quicksand" or "sand" style back covers since my N5 days. I've bought them name-brand by Bear Motion and un-branded direct from TVC Mall (though there doesn't seem to be an S8 option available at TVC right this second).

Definitely not the most bomb-proof things in the world and they don't offer much more than scratch protection for the back & sides of the device, but the texture feels great, is slip-resistant and the cases are so minimal as to almost not be there. I happen to think they look pretty slick to boot.

u/TIFUbyResponding · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I actually like the iBlason case slightly better than the Unicorn. Just as rugged, but feels better in hand.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XGYMD9D/

u/Kaos7heory · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I've been using this style of Spigen case for several different phones that I've used (iPhone 6s Plus, Note 7, LG G5, iPhone 7 Plus, and now Galaxy S8+) and have been very pleased with it.

Doesn't add a lot of thickness to the phone overall, and protects the phone adequately provided you're not dragging it behind your car. I've dropped my S8+ once (onto a tiled floor) and the phone survived without a scratch.

For me personally, I also like the pseudocarbon-fiber design on the top and bottom of the case. Reminds me of the days when I had a Droid RAZR HD MAXX (which had an actual carbon-fiber back) and didn't feel like it needed a case.

u/stray_rat · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Samsung Galaxy S8 Clear Protective Cover, Black

To be honest though, I switched from a clear case to a black dbrand skin - looks much better, not so sure about functionality, might go back to a case soon.

u/N97PU · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I use the Spigen Rugged Armor for my S8. I personally like minimalist cases as I don't like the feel of a really bulky phone. This one is great because it absorbs (reasonable) impacts well and has a raised lip at the top and bottom so I feel comfortable setting my phone down on its screen. I tried a bunch of cases for my S6 a couple years ago and always came back to this one. Naturally I bought the S8 version when I got my new phone, and have loved it.

For glass and overall the Whitestone.

For film I have this one and it's great and very case friendly. Armorsuit - Amazon ignore the up and down reviews they've made a few revisions and it's great now

u/ImGeoX · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Spigen has never failed me with my previous phones so I stuck with them on my S8 and I must say this case is even better than their previous ones. it keeps it sleek looking and thin, and has a nice finish that feels absolutely awesome in the hands and also the case edges on the screen extend out a bit so if you lay your phone face down, the flat surface won't touch your screen.

For screen protectors I had the hardest time finding a tempered glass as really none of them stayed on well. I just didn't feel confident in any that I saw so I decided to go back the film screen protectors. Skinomi has always had a good reputation for their screen protectors. This is a wet apply, so its easy to place and it is case friendly. I managed to put it on there perfectly and I'm am really satisfied with the results. The screen still feels smooth when gliding my fingers and now I confident that it won't get scratched or break. It comes with 2 films and they offer lifetime warranty. I would say at least try it because you completely disregard it. I know everyone goes towards the tempered glass, but meh they really aren't that good. Plus with the curved edges, they just don't fit on well. Anyways, this is my opinion and suggestion. Let me know if you decide to go with this setup.

EDIT: note the links I gave you are for the S8. Not Plus. But you can find the plus versions for both.

u/NW-Hen · 6 pointsr/GalaxyS8

The Samsung protective cover. So slim it almost feels like there is no case on it. Also, if you use the FPS the separate cut out makes a huge difference. You can find it in t-mobile stores and of course Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Clear-Protective-Orchid/dp/B06XJ9ZL76?th=1&psc=1

I also have the ringke slim and it's pretty good. Almost as slim as the Samsung case above with better grip.

How do you like it? Does it fit well? Im looking at this one.

Thanks!

You could look into these. I plan on buying them soon cause I'm getting my S8 plus next week and I know I'm going to use this when I get the phone. It wraps around the edges so you don't get any lift effects.

u/Sh4d0wr1der · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I just got mine over the weekend and went caseless for a few days. Zero scratches, but I was very careful with it. I ended up with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and I love it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XNSZJ31/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also purchased the Spigen Neo Flex screen protector but I haven't put it on yet: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XP56SWK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both the front and back of the phone are made of the same Gorilla Glass.

u/McMadface · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I have the black S8+ and usually have it in a black Ringke Slim case. The case has a rubberized texture that feels nice and is grippy. It almost looks like there isn't a case on the phone at all, with the narrow side bezels preserved.

When I travel, I slap on the Spigen Ultra Hybrid S with the kickstand for watching movies on the plane. The glossy black TPU sides and clear polycarbonate back look gorgeous on the phone but it makes the phone look like it has a bezel. It does offer more protection than the slim case, so there's a trade off.

u/lastnerdstanding · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

Purchased this thin case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWSRFYM

I've usually gone with their plastic clear cases but because the phone is fairly large, I went with less bulk.

I'll have to wait to see the LED flip case. Liked it on the Note 7. I hope the notification remains fully customizable unlike the S7 version.

u/zeebs758 · 4 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I use the Spigen Tough Armor case and love it. I've been using it since April of 2017 for the S8+ but they do make it for the S8 as well. Never had any issues with it. I've dropped my phone a lot and its been fine. I use fingerprint scan to unlock my phone and the case helps line up my finger to do it. It doesn't cover up the bottom so it won't help you there.

u/JhgelSkNYF · 5 pointsr/GalaxyS8

that's almost funny.

I've heard so many smartphone-gore stories over the years and i'm definitely not going without protection and full battle-gear

the s8+ will be my first smartphone - I'm getting tempered glass and a Patchworks Flexguard case, wish me luck

you know it's kind of a shame that the manufacturers don't engineer and include this kind of stuff for the prices their asking, instead they want the world to compete and innovate for them. They only have to worry about making the core while selling more insurance and cores because they're more delicate ;)

u/vjj1mguKD · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Screen Protector + Case , Whitestone Dome glass + Spigen Neo Hybrid, result: SUCCESS

They work perfectly together. Would like a bit more of a lip on the top/bottom but hey, that's what you get with a slim case like the Spigen Neo Hybrid. There is zero interference between this case and my Whitestone dome glass application even though it's slightly botched and off-center by .5mm or so. You can't go wrong with this combination. BTW the Patchworks Flexguard does interfere with the Whitestone Dome glass application ever so slightly but that might just be because mine is botched and off-center by .5mm - the case pries at the glass.

u/Foamloller · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I got this one for $16 with a lightning deal.

Works very well as a nightstand. The charge light isn't bright enough and it's easy to center the phone perfect every time (with my round flat charger it would randomly stop charging and couldn't center it without visual inspection)

It's also grippy.

these dongles can convert all of your cables to USB C easily

u/SP1966 · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I picked up the same GLAStr Slim screen protector for my S8, here are my thoughts:

  1. Fingerprints are much more noticeable than they are on the screen with no protector.
  2. It is much more reflective than without the protector which I think contributes to number 1.
  3. Finger feel is far better than the plastic protectors, as expected.

I'm using the Spigen Liquid Crystal case and the fit is excellent! They recommend installing it with the case on and it does work great to help position the protector.

I don't think there is, or likely will be, a perfect screen protector for these curved screens. The smudging is extremely annoying to me, but not as annoying as a scratched screen would be.

I've only had it a couple days and have been waffling between keeping it and trashing it. At this point I'm going to live with it for a week or two and then decide. It's a shame that such a well designed device needs to be hidden away!

I ordered bunch of random cases from Amazon. About to ship 5 back and keeping one . Spigen S8+ Liquid Crystal feels solid and phone looks slim. It comes down to you and how you like the feel in your hand. Still no luck with screen protector they are all garbage.

Spigen Neo Hybrid is what I use and love it.
Better to buy directly from the case maker, plus it's cheaper on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Spigen®-Flexible-Protection-Reinforced-Gunmetal/dp/B06XP6CRP5/

Interesting. Here is a link to the one I ordered but I'm in the US

Bought the Armorsuit MilitaryShield after having a positive experience with the one I put on my wife's S7E. Relatively easy application, no rainbowing or other weirdness. Very happy overall.

u/Leeaxd · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I've been using this one. Not glass but wraps around the edges. Kind-of nice as in my previous experience the edge of a glass protector would catch some lint. Might be of interest to you

I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010B6PSMC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .. $20 stand wireless charger and it fast wireless charges my S8+ in a big UAG plasma case. Love it and it works perfectly.

u/DesechableMX · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I bought this one ( i live in Mexico)

https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B06XNVPGC2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its kind of bulky compared to the slim ones but nothing that make it feel uncomfortable or big (and i also have small hands), the kickstand, at least in mine, is also black.

The only "but" i have with the case is that i dont feel it protects the screen too much but maybe that´s something that has to do with the phone factor itself and would happen with any case. Its my first "edge" phone so im used for the screen to have a "gap" with the case.

In any case, im super picky and think i might break the phone just by looking at it and this case gives me some peace of mind.

u/playbeasy · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I picked up three of these and they're working great for me. They have a light ring around them that is green if fast charging and blue if slow charging. It claims to be auto adjusting based on ambient light but for me it's pretty much always dim which I don't care about.

The important thing is that it's dim enough that it doesn't bother me about a foot from my head while sleeping. I'm very sensitive to light when I sleep. So much so that the light that shines under a hotel door from the hall usually keeps me awake.

I haven't had any issues with alignment either, works first time every time.

I paid $16 each a few days ago but they're on amazon for $11.99 right now. No adapter is included.

  1. I have the Spigen Liquid Crystal Clear. https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Crystal-Protection-Premium-Clarity/dp/B06XP4QY2B/ (make sure you get the S8 Plus version) It's not too thick and lets you show off the looks of the phone really well.

  2. Nova all the way.

I've got this case and find that it works rather well. It fits fine with a screen protector, is very minimalist and doesn't add much bulk to the phone and looks pretty sleek.

u/incarniac · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Having learnt a very expensive lesson of having to have a cracked screen replaced after dropping my S8+ four days after getting it, it is now sporting a Spigen Neo Hybrid Case:

u/mistical · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

It is over with, deals on Woot normally last 24h or less or until gone.

No, that was not the same one. This is the one I received in the mail: $40 https://amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Charger-Warranty/dp/B01BMDQ9U8

And the refurbished version of it is $25: https://amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Enabled-Devices/dp/B01IRSWBIU

Honestly, I'd personally just go for the refurbished version which will be just fine, likely someone returning one that didn't like it. Plus it comes with 90-day return warranty and you're buying it from Amazon too.

u/benk016 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I bought 2 of these for me and my wife. She's got an S7 and I have the S8+. They have worked just as good as the old original samsung wireless charger disk, without the annoying problem of trying to find the right spot on the disk to put the phone to get it to charge, and then hoping it actually charged fully overnight.

It also nice having fast wireless charging. It's not as fast as fast wired charging, but much faster than regular wireless charging.

u/chriskmee · 14 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I am using The Spigen Neo Hybrid

I've been using this make/model for my last 3 or so Samsung phones. Great protection without out too much added bulk.

u/StupidMoron1 · 6 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I like this Spigen one. It's a wet application, so it's a bit harder to apply than the glass ones, but there's no bubbling in the center. If you apply it exactly right, the edges won't get raised up by a case. I've read some people have had success with this Whitestone one, but it is more expensive.

u/Mawaukey · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I have the Spigen Liquid Crystal and am quite happy with it.

u/GiantsJets · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Is that the cheapest wireless charger available? I am now trying to save a bit as I just spent my money on the S8+, for instance, I saw this on Amazon, but not sure how great it can be, and also safe for the device?

u/natepalm · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Gotta say This is pretty awesome. No problems with response or missed swipes and dead easy to put on. Feels great too.

u/jmedina94 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Thanks! This is the one I am looking at? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BMDQ9U8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_pnL0AbPSH2DRK

Doesn't appear to be convertible so it might not work.

u/ronyjk22 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I haven't had any problem with sensitivity at all. Everything works perfectly well. The only thing I have a problem with is that it kinda gives you a rubbery feel. Which I don't have a problem with but I miss feeling the glass.

Get it and never look back. Love the shit out of mine, and the grip it adds is unparalleled. Thin as protective cases come.

The other night my phone slipped out of my hand and I instinctively went to grab it but ended up spiking it to the ground. Hard wood, it bounced and skidded, the works. Had a mini heart attack but my phone was completely unscathed. I'm convinced the case saved it, because it was seriously a brutal drop.

got it on sale for like $3. phone fell face down which is why it cracked

u/xSieghartx · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

If you don't mind non-glass screen protectors, look into wet applied ones like Yootech or the Spigen Neo Flex.

u/puddle_stomper · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Sorry, I forgot there's a clear one. Mine is matte black.

u/currentlydrinking · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I agree, but I'm scared.

I ordered 3 cases on Amazon right when I got home. They were all $10 or $20 cases, that happened to be on sale for around $3 each (found thanks to slickdeals.com)...

Out of the three, this Ringke slim is my favorite: https://smile.amazon.com/Ringke-Precision-Fashionable-Steadfast-Bolstered/dp/B06XWSRFYM?sa-no-redirect=1&th=1

It barely adds any thickness, and keeps the same shape. I still miss seeing the gloss though :(

I use a Spigen Tough Armor that come with a kickstand, it works well for me.

u/xdblockx · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

I have the following two cases, both of which work with my magnetic mount:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XP4QY2B/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XPMMM4N/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both relatively cheap, both also add little bulk to the phone. The second one is more minimal in my opinion, I prefer it.

u/Kaldur_ahm · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I ordered this one

I'll let you know when I get it. It's slightly thicker as it has some impact protection.

u/apheresis · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

Is it this screen protector? I couldn't find the wet install version.

u/Ipad207 · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS8

im not sure this is true apparently the only diffrence between [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Charger-Warranty/dp/B01BMDQ9U8) one and the $90 one is that the older model wont fold in

It was this stupid ass case. So pissed. It even has that bump up top n bottom so nothing hits the screen.

u/MartianRaptor · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I bought it on Amazon, but I checked my order history and it was sold by Amazon.com LLC, not some third party. It's gotta be legit.

I've been using it flawlessly with no issues for like 9 months (since the release of Note 7). I do think it came with a standard charger, but I could be wrong. I do have like 3 extra fast power bricks lying around (I made sure I got something out of all those Note 7 recalls ;D).

Trying to look online for ways to tell if it's fake or not... The sticker on the bottom looks exactly like the real one and I could spot some differences between mine and the fake one. So far, I think it's legit. If you know of any other way to tell for sure whether it's fake or not, LMK.

EDIT: This is what I bought, from Amazon.com LLC
