$40 with this deal was well, for me on PC.

How to contact an Amazon rep & have the additional Prime 20% off applied to your purchase.
-

I was able to speak with a rep via Amazon Chat & have the additional Prime 20% applied to my purchase bringing the game before tax down to ~$40. Boxed Copy PC Overwatch Origins Edition.

While I & many others were successful on our first attempt still other people required multiple rep chats some even going as far as calling support.

How to contact an Amazon rep via chat: Visit this link & select these options, at the bottom on the right click "chat".

My chat transcript in image & text:

> Initial Question: The Prime pricing on Overwatch - Origins (http://www.amazon.com/Overwatch-Origins-PC/dp/B017L187YG) is incorrect & my purchase appears to be overcharged. The list price is $48.99, the Prime price should be $39.20, but is instead listed at $47.99.

EDIT: And some other users regarding the Collectors Edition:

Someone in this thread mentioned they paid $75 for the CE after talking with a rep, so yes.

I'll scan through again & see if I can find them.

Here's is one conversation re: the CE, seems some were not as successful with support.

Here's one user who was successful:
> i preordered the CE back in april and when the price dropped yesterday my order was automatically adjusted to 94.99. i had to bug support to get them to apply my 20% prime discount though, bringing it to 75.99 + tax.

And another here:

> I did something similar. My CE shipped before the price drop so I had to bug Amazon customer service today to give me the CE for $95 minus the 20% for Prime discount. The customer service rep did not seem all that thrilled about giving me the $120 CE for $75.

1:20am EST and I just got a confirmation on my first try from a promotions and deals chat rep that Amazon is giving the 20% off of the $48.99 ($39.20) once it ships since that is when they charge you. I didn't ask too many questions and kept it simple but this is what I started with (Initial Question):

> The base price of the pre-order of Overwatch Origins Edition for PC is now $48.99 which should be discounted at 20% for $39.20. Is this correct? If so and I cancelled my previous pre-order through Blizzard, would I be able to purchase the Amazon pre-order for $39.20?

Here's the full convo:

> 10:11 PM PDT Jeff(Amazon): Hello Me, my name is Jeff.

> 10:11 PM PDT Me: Hey Jeff

> 10:11 PM PDT Jeff: I understand that you want to avail the lower price.
No worries, I'm here to help. Let me go ahead and check what I can do to help.

> 10:11 PM PDT Me: Ok thank you!

> 10:12 PM PDT Jeff: Would you mind holding for a minute or two while I check this?

> 10:12 PM PDT Me: No problem, thanks

> 10:14 PM PDT Jeff: Thanks.

> 10:15 PM PDT Jeff: Since you are a Prime member, you can avail that 20% discount.

> 10:15 PM PDT Me: Ok, so is the price with the 20% $39.20 then?

> 10:16 PM PDT Jeff: Correct.

> 10:17 PM PDT Me: Awesome, let me cancel my previous pre-order then. One sec.

> 10:17 PM PDT Jeff: You're welcome.
> I hope my actions prove to be satisfactory with your concern, is there anything else that I can assist you with today?

> 10:18 PM PDT Me: Ok, so when I add it to my cart on amazon, will the difference be refunded when it ships or how does this work?
> Because it's still showing up as $48.99 + tax

> 10:18 PM PDT Jeff: Correct.
> The deduction will be after the order shipped out.

> 10:19 PM PDT Jeff: Since we only charge you once the orders shipped out.

> 10:19 PM PDT Me: Ok, that works. Thank you so much. Oh ok that makes sense!

> 10:19 PM PDT Jeff: You're very much welcome.

> 10:19 PM PDT Jeremy: That's all I needed Jeff, have a good evening. I appreciate it!

> 10:20 PM PDT Jeff: Thank you for contacting Amazon. Have a wonderful day!
> We look forward to seeing you again soon. Take care!

Hope this helps you guys!

Just to add my experience, on my first try, the rep agreed to honor the 20% discount. The caveat is that I had to place my order at $47.99 price, and they would refund the correct discount in the next 1-2 business days (the rep said either the Marketing/Promo team would do it, or the agent herself would do it). I have full confidence they'll honor the agreement.

If it helps other people, I did the following through chat:

Ticket Detail: "I'm looking for help about Prime pricing on Overwatch - Origins (http://www.amazon.com/Overwatch-Origins-PC/dp/B017L187YG). The list price is $48.99, the Prime price should be $39.20, but is instead listed at $47.99."

Transcript:

>> Agent: Hello, my name is Agent. I'm here to help you today.

>> Me: Hi

>> Agent: Hello, I'm so sorry for the incorrect price show and let me check into this and see what I can do to help.

>> Me: Ok, thanks!

>> Agent: You are most welcome. One moment as I check.

>> Thanks for waiting.

>> May I know if you were referring to the 20% discount that will be applied on pre order items?

>> Me: Yes, the 20% discount that Prime members can get by pre-ordering games.

>>Agent: May I know if you already proceed to check out and and see if 20% discount was applied or it does not show up?

>>Me: When I add it to my card and get to the final page where I can place the order, this item appears: "Prime Savings: -$1.00"
with subtotal as: "Total before tax: $47.99"

>>tax $2.88

>>final price is $50.87

>>obviously $1.00 is far less than 20% of $48.99 ;)

>>Agent: I completely understand and let me check into this and see what I can do to help.

>>Me: Ok, thanks, I appreciate it. I'm looking to buy it with my Prime membership that I otherwise enjoy, but sadly it's not working quite right here.

>>Agent: Thanks for waiting.

>>So sorry if incorrect amount was applied and here is what I can do to help.

>>Please place the order and I will forward this issue to our Marketing and Promotions Team to correct the discount needs to apply on the order and they will respond within 1-2 business days and if our Marketing and Promotions Team will not able to assist you no need to worry I am here to back you up and I will refund 20% discount if Marketing team will not able to help.

>>Me: Ok, so to be clear, somebody at Amazon will refund the correct 20% (be it you, or Marketing & Promotions) at some point in the next 1-2 business days after I place my order, correct?

>>Agent: Yes that is right and may I know if this would be fine for you?

Edit: In case anyone happens across this, spoke to a rep the next day and they're refunding the difference (about $10.00). No problems at all getting Amazon to honor the correct pricing.

I have a Steam Controller and an Xbox 360 controller. My girlfriend and I played though Lego Marvel Superheroes, the Lego Harry Potters and some of Jurassic World with two different controllers. So if you want to mix and match, you're totally able to.

If you have any controllers laying around, see if you can find an adapter for them.

While gmessad's recommendation is great, I would say the Steam Controller is a super solid choice too. If you can wait a bit, GameStop and Amazon have deals on them pretty often. If you have basically any existing PC gamepads you'll be fine while you wait.

If you don't mind used (my controller has been indestructible the year and a half I've had it), Amazon has a used one with Prime for $35 https://www.amazon.com/Steam-Controller-SteamOS/dp/B016KBVBCS?th=1

Looks like its part of the Free Weekend they're doing, the same deal has showed up on Gamestop and Amazon at the same time. I would be surprised if it wasn't lowered on Battle.net as well when the Free Weekend starts later this morning

> Paying hundreds of dollars for multiplayer access and mediocre

Over what 4 years? $49.99, here's the type of games.

> The page clearly states that for the parts you buy, you are getting more bang for your buck.

Recommendation: Athlon X4 or Core i3, 1TB HDD, 4-8GB of RAM, R9 270 or 750Ti.

The AMD Radeon in the PS4 Pro (which we're talking about) runs 4.2 TFLOPS beats out the 750Ti's 1.4 TFLOPS or the R9270's 2.37 TFLOPS. And it has an operating system, so you can actually turn it on and you know... PLAY GAMES. I guess you could load linux for free and play Minecraft.

(I approved this one). With the huge number of unauthorized key resellers selling Bioshock Infinite at prices they shouldn't even be able to, I felt that this was an important one for anyone who wanted to get the game at a really great price, from an authorized dealer.

Sadly, Many of us should have taken advantage of the 15% off earlier during Black Friday. But if you were unable to get one, this is about a great deal.

Feel free to go ahead and "a lower price" on Amazon Ps4 Pro , so more of us in the States can get in on it.

If you feel a PS4 Pro is over hyped, AMazon is running a PS4 Slim for 229 down from 249 Holiday Price Point

u/Chemtox · 2 pointsr/GameDeals

A quick analysis of previous deals tells me that it will last... less than a month, most probably.

As for someone knowing exactly how long, well, I would venture that not even Amazon nor Valve know that, judging by the same data sample. Pretty sure they are using advanced American Economics.

FYI Bioshock will be $34.99 today only:

Might be worth a separate post, and price should flip soon.

Cheers,
Tony
