Sure, it's a Hot Rails Squire Deluxe I really like it since it allows me to cover more ground from bluesy stuff to metal, I'd say it falls nicely as a rock guitar.

Haven't done any upgrades, only one of my three electric guitars I haven't felt the need to.

Looking back I might have gone with this one with a matching headstock, also 50 bucks cheaper .. Squier by Fender Standard Stratocaster Beginner Electric Guitar - HSS - Black and Chrome https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B99YPMZ

No, buy the Ultra.

You can use a passive AB/Y switcher as a footswitch and even run into both channels at once (how good this sounds is very amp-dependent, but if not - it still works as a switcher). This one from Fender is excellent and less than $50.

EDIT: Re-typing my reply after I've had a chance to reread yours.

It is like the TOP image on your drawing. Just like this, the linked image is "before" on the left, "after" on the right. The AC power connects to both ends of the Primary wiring. Sorry if that wasn't clear before. DO NOT rewire anything about the PT secondaries that go to the tubes.

But, just the fact that you asked, says you really should do more homework before you continue, I think you're rushing this without having a real understanding of how the amp, and AC appliance in general, work.

At the very least, I would pick up Dave Hunter's book, which explains the amp workings in layman's terms. But there is a LOT of recources out there to get yourself more up to speed.

You may be slightly screwed, but it's still better than $100 from Yamaha.

The Yamaha takes a power supply with a center pin - STYLE C like this on the power plug, unlike the standard COAXIAL PLUG (STYLE B). And it is CENTER POSITIVE.

Markings on the adapter:

YAMAHA UIB345-1530

HU10217-12029
UNIFIVE TECHNOLOGY

SHENZHEN (02)-66797134

I'm thinking of getting 8 of these and a charger. You could also get 16 of these and keep 8 in the charger. The THR is picky about battery power levels and supposedly craps out ungracefully when the voltage gets too low.

I've got this one:

Marshall MS2 Battery-Powered Micro Guitar Amplifier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BVS7WQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RZgWDbDG3GV6G

If you turn everything to max it sound ok for a pocket amp, but anything less is too little. Also, the clean channel might as well not exist.

EQ pedal after the fuzz to tame the highest frequencies.

Also prefer my dirt pedals into the normal channel.

My fuzz face is a dallas arbiter clone with an internal sag trim pot. That makes a big difference. Really want to modify that or trade it out for one with sag knob on the outside. Even better would be if I could use a switch to go back and forth between two sag settings when I switch from single coils to humbuckers.

Really, I end up on my Rat clone 95% of the time anyway. Don't think, just buy, then love me forever.

Look into Hotone amps. I'm constantly surprised by how nice my British Invasion sounds. 5w is plenty of output for coffee shop gigs through a 1x12 and if you need more volume you can always pick up a light weight 2x10 cab.

I can't, however, tell you how it would sound with an acoustic. I had a 1x8 Roland Cube that someone else mentioned that would also fit the bill.

Contact cleaner, $4.77 @ Amazon, but you can buy at probably any store like Lowe's.

CRC 05103 QD Electronic Cleaner -11 Wt Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BXOGNI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_m1G9Bb2YS6DMT

And the place on the pot to spray it (about halfway down on the page)

I think you mean tonebone. But, I used the bigshot to AB my two amps through one cab, works great. It also has a phase lift so you won't get that horrible buzzing.

Very complete answer, thanks man!
I'll order a T-12AX7. Is this one okay or are there subtleties about ''Medium gain'' that I should look into?

u/ferrinbonn · 2 pointsr/GuitarAmps

I got this and it works fine. https://smile.amazon.com/GLS-Audio-Speaker-Cable-12AWG/dp/B004Z2H07K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1519941297&sr=8-2&keywords=guitar+speaker+cable

Don't splurge on some expensive or super thick cable. As soon as the signal hits the jack in the back of your speaker cab, it's going to travel through a very light gauge wired to the actual speaker.

I am interested in the G5. Can you give me any more info about getting a decent 12" cabinet that cheap?

Edit: I'm considering a cabinet like this
