its the exact same way. you plug in the ps2 dongle into the ps2 to pc adapter (if you have one or buy one it is this: https://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hero-World-Wireless-Dongle-Receiver/dp/B00I4BP61U)
You could get a DolphinBar for $20 and connect it wirelessly with that. That's what I use for my Wiitars.
That didn't seem to work...

2nd suggestion: I would recommend getting a Rock Band 4 guitar for the PS4.
Yep, I actually saw someone post asking the same question I had and I already have the game up and running, I just need a controller. . . I tried playing with my keyboard and that's not happening lol. Maybe if I had a way to disable strumming it would be a little easier but hitting the notes and trying to strum at the same time with a keyboard is difficult.

By low quality, you mean low bitrate?
I would always recommend going for a LAN Adapter for your Wii U, as the Wifi card in it isn't very good.
