I never had a 10. Last HTC I had was an E8. And my gf used it.

The U11 is OK and I have a better case on it, as the one that it comes with is cool. But scratches very easy. And doesn't protect much.

Caseless? You drop it. It's gonna break.(glass at least) You sit on it. High chance it can bend like the old iPhone 6 plus did.

It's a great phone. But glass front and back. Instead of aluminum.

The 10 I've heard good things about though. It hangs in there. But it's still a yr old. Up to you really.

11 has upgraded speakers and screen, camera, better battery life and quick charging. 10 had audio jack and more durable frame. And is just a little smaller to my understanding. Both are good HTC devices though. The u11 improves on everything the 10 was, but does it differently (design wise)

In order for it to be 'squeezable' the u11 glass sits on the frame (front and rear). Instead of being inside it like the LG G6 and S8 or 10 do. So it was a small sacrifice. Get a decent case that protects it more than the one it comes with. It should be alright.

I personally am using this one. It fits pretty good. But easy to remove. Which concerns me a little. But sqeeze feature still works. So that's good.

Assuming you have a phone with a USB-C port (unlike OP), the answer is... probably.

Make sure you find a quality, thick cable. I bought a well reviewed Spigen one that worked great, but it was only 1m. You'll have to look more carefully for a longer cable, since the increase in length leads to an increase in amperage resistance, which results in slower charging.

That's why phones usually come with shorter cables in the box.

Edit: This one looks like it'd work great, seems to put out the maximum 2.4a that USB A is capable of.

I've been using this screen protector. When I first put it on I had one corner that didn't sit well, but after a few hours and pressing it down the screen is now 100% adhered with no bubbles or lifting.

For case I have this one. It's OK, there isn't anything wrong with it per say. The button action is good. I guess i wish it had a little more texture to the back for balancing on fingers as using the phone in one hand. I was also interested in the octane case.

Had my HTC 10 for about a month.

The 3000mAh battery easily lasts me the whole day. Even in the rare instances when it doesn't, the quick charger gives you 50% in 30mins.

The chamfered edge and rounded back make for a very comfortable handset. The buttons are placed perfectly so you don't have to do any awkward phone-rolls in the hand in order to get to every part of the phone or the screen. Plus, that chamfer (and the rest of the phone) looks absolutely stunning. The 10 is, however, a little slippery, but I have fixed that by buying this dope case.

Thanks to the low-latency touchscreen, a totally streamlined and minimalistic Sense UI, 4GB RAM, and a Snapdragon 820 processor, the 10 is anything but sluggish. And thanks to the 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and quad-HD display, the experience is as immersive as ever!

The tweeter up top and subwoofer down below make for crystal clear, hard-hitting sound that gets very loud without the bass muddying up the sound (since they're physically separated on the phone).

It's a total buy, if you ask me. And you did ask me, so...buy it!!!

EDIT (addition): the 24-bit DAC makes any music you listen to, with headphones on, sound absolutely incredible.

I was totally surprised by the cable having design features slowing quick charging and also the proper cable allows for maximum transfer speeds. I always through it was just a wire making contact but I think there are other wires telling the phone more about the charging block it's connected to. Is voltage regulators. Cables do wear out so that might be a issue too. Dust getting caught in everything.

As far as the charging block it has to be Qualcomm certified,

I have this one for my car and it's amazing never a issue and charges as fast as possible. I'm sure the wall version is just as good. But the manual says to only use the HTC U11 charger destined for it FYI....which I have never used because my phone didn't come with one(out of box for 350 2 years ago)

AUKEY Car Charger with 31.5W Output, Quick Charge 3.0 & 5V/2.4A Ports for Samsung Galaxy Note8 / S9, iPhone X / 8 / Plus and More | Qualcomm Certified https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019OSX8UC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PDd2DbVCS15VZ

I agree this stuff should be bullet proof. All the other brand phones also have these issue with charging cables and blocks FYI. The research I did it was explained that the technologybin these phones are the same across the board and the batteries are the only difference. It's a pure hardware issue. But yeah stick with name brand cables and chargers that are Qualcomm approved.

> You can use any USB A-C connector that supports quick charge. Ignore all the controversy about people saying "USB type C doesn't support quickcharge"

So, I could use this cable with my HTC supplied wall wart, because this is A to C, and the wall wart is a QC one, and I'd get QC 3 speeds?

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying about the A-C that supports QC.

>No, most phones use USB 2 type C. USB 3 only has faster data transfer speeds. However, the port matters. USB 2 delivers only 500mA, USB 3 delivers more.

Again, not QUITE sure I follow. I think what you're saying is that any A-C cable is fine from the wall, but if I want fast transfer speeds from a PC, I need a USB 3 cable. (Sorry, you threw me off when you mentioned current. Surely the current would only matter if this phone used USB 3.0 power delivery? Or is the current somehow related to the data transfer speed?)

What I'm looking at getting is this for use with my HTC wall wart, and a pack of these for in the car/at the office or my desk. Remember, I don't want them to just work, I want them to charge at full QC3 speed when in the car (with the QC car plug I linked) or with the HTC wall wart. I am NOT expecting QC speeds when plugged into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on a PC (although i'm assuming a USB 3.0 port will perform better?)

Here's my understanding....

The long cable will be handy for charging, and won't be used for transferring data, so the fact that it isn't USB 3.0 doesn't matter.

**The pack of cables will be used for charging OR data transfer - so they're USB 3.0.
USB 3.0 compatibility will neither help nor hinder when charging, but will only be a positive when transferring data.

Basically, what I'm getting is that whether a cable is USB 3 or not doesn't matter for charging when the standard being used is Qualcomm's QC, only if USB 3's power delivery system is being utilised. When QC3 is in play, USB 3.0 only matters for data transfer.

I swear by this...I've tried like 10 different cases and this is perfect. Super thin, very protective...sleek too. Feels great in the hands.

I was looking to try to repair my old M8 mostly for fun and to see if I could. It looks like you can buy replacement parts for just a few dollars on Amazon and a few other sites I found through Google that looked legit.

Here is the charging port on Amazon for example.

The issue here is the phones design, even when using the rice, I can almost bet my life on it there was still water inside the phone. Since the phone itself is so sealed, if water were to get in, you'd probably have to open it up more for the rice to be as effective.

Since you say the phone was responding, but the battery will not charge. Maybe you got lucky and only killed the battery.

If you can't fix it any other way or send it in for repairs, you can also try replacing the batter with yourself. Of course you'll need a few tools to open the M8, might be able to use guitar picks but I wouldn't recommend them ecause they are a tad thicker than the tools I'm talking about.

The tool is called HH-5A opening tool. You can also look for phone repair kits, they should come with one similar or the same one.

If you really want to get into Hi-Res and audiophile grade headphones then you should get something like Audio Technica MSR7 , Philips Fidelio L2 or Sony MDR-1R

Edit: In-ear that are good enough for Hi-Res would be: RHA 750i, Sony XBA-H3 or Shure SE425

I got the rugged armor. Pretty happy with it.

Whats the story with the charging brick you are using? Original or 3rd party?

You need a QC 3.0 charger something like this:

And try these cables:

After looking at all of the wallet cases available on Amazon, none of them really looked like they'd be very practical to use. I really wanted a flip style case though, so I went ahead and ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-FlipBook-Black-Manufacturer-Warranty/dp/B00BKOWJCC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367737516&sr=8-1&keywords=poetic+htc+one Still have to carry a wallet but I like the screen protection that flip style cases provide. It hasn't arrived yet, but it has 4.5 stars on Amazon.

I've had a very good experience with the Spigen Slim Armor for my current phone, which did not have a kick stand. I purchased [this one] (http://www.amazon.com/Spigen®-CUSHION-Gunmetal-Cushioned-Protective/dp/B01DAN2ONY) and received it yesterday. Same build quality, and the one I currently use has held perfectly through several low height drops.

Edit: On mobile. Link didn't work initially. http://www.amazon.com/Spigen®-CUSHION-Gunmetal-Cushioned-Protective/dp/B01DAN2ONY

I bought this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01DAN1T4E Fits great and doesn't add much 'bulk' to the phone.
Never bother with a screen protector, don't see the point with the phone having Gorilla Glass.
