There are also some great reference books on cocktail making. A good place to start, IMO, is with the recently-released (and amazing) Cocktail Codex, which I recently read through and loved. It's, unfortunately, not available from HPL, but buying it would be less than a class would cost, and will give you way more information.

A lot of cocktail books are either just lists of recipes or are built for people with such a massive store of knowledge already. Either of those areas aren't good for people in your position, but this one does a good job of teaching the fundamentals in a way that's easily applicable both with and without recipes.

Don't feel like you have to learn to make everything all at once. Cocktail Codex is split into six sections (the thrust of the book is that almost every cocktail can be thought of as a variation on one of the old-fashioned, martini, daiquiri, sidecar, whisky highball, and flip). Buy a few bottles that can help you do a few things and start from there. You can always add to your collection and branch out later. Then you can slowly end up filling several of your kitchen cabinets with various amari and a surprising/unnecessary number of bottles of Fernet Branca until your spouse is equal parts happy and slightly annoyed.

Some other great reference books that I'd recommend:

I'm not going to enter into this argument at this stage on either side because I personally think you both make seriously excellent points! I'm just gonna hop in to be a mediator.

A couple points:

  1. Well done to both you and u/LerrisHarrington for keeping it largely civil but let's keep the "people like you" down on both sides. Also, let's not ad hominem attack people here.

  2. Let's, remember that both of you agree that trans people should be treated with respect and that assault or harassment verbal, physical and emotional should be avoided. Your disagreement is about specifics so act like it. Let's not pretend that either of you hates the other or hates cis/trans people.

Ok now I'm going to be extremely nitpicky but I believe some clarity is needed. First, you say:

    > Gender identity is the strongest determining factor in whether you're a man or women. Not whats between your legs, thats your biological sex.

    Then you say:

    > all embryonic humans are female

This needs a bit more clarification for me as it is a tad confusing.

    First lets cover this part:

    > all embryonic humans are female

    Biologically or psychologically?

If you're going with a biological definition then this is simply not true. From the moment an egg and sperm come together, the embryo is biologically male or female. An embryo either has XX or XY chromosomes. It does not decide half way through development. Male embryos are never "female." They don't have a 'vagina' they have undifferentiated sexual organs which are physically androgynous. Source

If you're going with a psychological definition then we'd be talking about gender identity which as you say is:

    > strongest determining factor in whether you're a man or women.

Well, the baby doesn't really have a functional brain at this stage so it certainly can't tell you what it feels. Therefore, it cannot have a gender identity which "refers to an individual's personal sense of identity as masculine or feminine, or some combination thereof." Source. Go to page 8 of the book preview if you don't own the book.

Therefore, by the process of elimination, you can only be talking about biological sex but this is only of secondary importance right?

All in all, in my opinion, the whole:

    > all embryonic humans are female

Is, therefore, meaningless from a biological and psychological point of view.

    You also say:

    > if you were to suffer an accident at work and lost your penis and testicles, would you continue to be a man? And if so is that because of whats between your legs? Or what you've determined yourself to be?

False dichotomy much? I appreciate that you're using an analogy, I'll be the first to admit they're awesome but I think there are definitely more physical ways to define sex even for a person who doesn't believe in the idea of genders and gender identity. For example "men have Y chromosomes"

    > Since all men had vaginas,

A transman may have had a vagina but as we've established not all men have had one.

    You then say:

    > Once you realize that transwomen are women as much as ciswomen are women,

If we're using gender identity as the guide for defining a man/women sure. Personally, I agree with your statement but I don't think you've proven your point beyond reasonable doubt.

    Edit:

    You also say:

    > Sorry for the lateness,

That is so cute and Canadian and I love it! :)

Legality of shipping alcohol aside, if you're shipping beer please be sure to secure it properly! Place it in a durable ziploc freezer bag to prevent leaks if it does become damaged, generously wrap the can/bottle in bubble wrap, and make sure it won't move around inside the shipping box itself.

Highly recommend Fairweather Brewing in the west end. Great people and some of the best beer you'll find in Ontario. They have their "Silky" porter available in bottles which should suit your needs.

I have a GoT beer chalice (similar to this https://www.amazon.com/Ommegang-Brewery-Chalice-Game-Thrones/dp/B0745WFWKL ) if you want it. The brewery that sells this glass is from New York state and also brews the GoT inspired beers found at the LCBO.

We live in Binbrook & get about 35 stations (this includes some religious stations which we promptly delete). CTV is a pain in the ass to get. Most of the time if we align our antenna to get CTV, we'll have it for a day or two and then it drops out. We've all but given up on that station. We get all the US stations perfectly, so anything we'd want to watch on CTV we can usually get from the US.

The best advice I can give is: Install your antenna outdoors, the higher the better. This makes all the difference in the world.

We're using two stacked antennas, the 8 bay is pointed towards the US & a smaller one pointed towards Toronto. We have a preamp up on the antenna which really seemed to help.

We're also using the Tablo OTA DVR so we can record our shows and pause live TV, the cool thing about this setup means we have only one device plugged into the Antenna and we can watch on several devices. We have the 4 Tuner version, so can watch or record 4 things at a time.

Anker is a good brand, but I don't think you can find it locally.

People tend to love these: https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-20000mAh-Portable-Charger-PowerCore/dp/B00X5RV14Y
They're big though.

Is this for Pokemon GO? :)

Alternative mic suggestion: Tascam DR-05 and a cheap lavalier mic like this

It's a lot more portable and versatile than the Snowball, but it will require you to sync up audio and video after the fact.

edit: honestly, even just the lav mic would help a lot

I purchased one of these and am quite happy with it - good for noise, storage, came in a small box. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0016BUR7I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Definitely is sketchy. When I use to workout there I got myself one of the Round Padlock that’s used for storage lockers. Lol. Not sure if Crunch or GoodLife is any better in Jackson?

You could pop one of these guys in your car and see if it spits out any codes that you can lookup yourself

https://www.amazon.ca/Veepeak-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Scanner-Android/dp/B011NSX27A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525651700&sr=8-3&keywords=code%2Breader&th=1

but it's not a full proper diagnostic like a professional would provide, of course. Nifty tool for $20 still.

Try this book. Worked wonders for my dogs, and made it easy for the family to be around and really enjoy the dogs.

And it is very simple.

HP Stream 14" HD Laptop (Celeron N3060 Processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB Storage) with Windows 10 Home - Aqua Blue https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01LWNZS4Z?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I bought this one. Not too expensive and it gets the job done. It definitely runs slower but overall I'm pleased with it.

Order a different one from Amazon. I just ordered this one for my sister and came in 2 days. Looks pretty solid in person. There is also another version of same case in a different colour.

I'd start looking for a new place, an infestation like that needs the whole building sprayed several times. In the meantime, if I were you I'd pick up this:

http://www.amazon.com/Roach-Motel-61009-total-small/dp/B005S4MCAY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409332828&sr=8-1&keywords=roach+motel

Also, you can do the mixture outlined here:

But in reality, if the roaches are everywhere around you this will just lead you to managing the problem within your own apartment. Hopefully this will give you some comfort while you look....

I had one of these too:
https://www.amazon.ca/Mattress-Dual-Layered-CertiPUR-US-Certified-Warranty/dp/B00474X5DO

Bit on the firm side but a pretty decent mattress for the price (although I got it on sale for $450 or so)

I like Graeme McKay's book, you might be from Hamilton if. I don't care much for his posts or articles but his comics make me chuckle

Vantrue N2 Pro with GPS mount up front and Vantrue N1 out back, with the hardwire kit

the timestamps get out of sync as they have different startup times but having a full 1080p out back is much better than most front+rear options that only do 720p or 480p out back

I've never seen or heard of this author before.. So I did a quick Google search, and it seems like his books have received alot of RAVE reviews from other buyers. Here's a couple of links..
