I used to have something like this steering wheel cover that was helpful. Of course, it turned gross after a few months (same goop that gets on your mouse, keyboard and anywhere else you keep your hands), but it was helpful.

To be honest, I've never really felt like my sweaty hands were much of a safety issue while driving. Although, I did make that argument to my insurance company when asking them to pay for treatment. ;-)

Oh girl. I have every type of shoe ever in the world - including Louboutins - with HH and I get on just fine.

For open toed shoes I love these - I swap them out frequently (like a pair every three wears) and they don't leave a sticky residue and you can cut them to fit your shoe: https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Soles-Softness-Stay-Dry-Insoles/dp/B003E4F4B4?th=1&psc=1

For closed toe flats or shoes that have more room for a thicker insert, I use these charcoal inserts and replace them about once a month. The reviews on these are primarily for really nasty, smelly, wet Tieks (which I also have and do need an insole regardless of your HH situation) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017PIUNU6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Peep toe sling backs are my favorite shoes since they stay on around my heel. I am also a fan of big block heeled platforms with straps that go around my ankle since they also stay on - regardless of the incline.

You got this!! Don't let HH hold you back from amazing shoes!!

B.O.C.! The foot bed is leather-ish enough to absorb without getting slippery, they have some very strappy options for stability, they don't stain, and they don't make wheezing noises. I've been buying them for years and haven't been disappointed yet (but don't expect them to last more than 2 summers before they smell or a strap pulls loose, and that's with regular cleaning). I just refreshed with these

ETA: i also love a pair of black converse. The black doesn't show sweat, you can wash them in the washer, and you can wear real socks with them and still look cute in a casual dress or shorts. I even wear them to work ;)

Yep, all these moisture wicking technology socks don’t do anything for me either...

Never heard of cheese cloth, that’s very interesting. In super hot summer, if I decide to go with flip flops, I usually go for two types of flipflops:

  • bamboo insole, like these
  • brushed leather insoles (not sure if that’s the correct term), like these

Bamboo ones fall apart after 2 months for me, but they are usually cheap so I just get a few for the whole summer. Might be worth a try until you find the cheese cloth again...

Ah, I go to a lifetime fitness, and the nice thing about them is they have small towels that you use for sweat. Everyone uses them, it would be considered weird not too. People put them on the seats or backs of machines while they sit, they also have wipes to wipe down a machine before/after using it but most dont go that far. You could bring your own or search for a gym that does something similar, maybe you have a lifetime near you.

As far as tee recommendations, my favorite are is this shirt in white, black, or navy. Also i used to hit the sauna before working out, i would sweat so much that my entire shirt would get wet and you couldnt tell i had sweat spots because it was all one big sweat spot lol. Dark gym shorts dont show when they are wet, try to avoid cotton, it changes color and texture when wet.

Dont worry about sweating in the gym, people will just think you're working hard!

I'm not sure if this will work for you but I spray my shoes with boot protector. That way they are a little bit more water resistant and hopefully could help fix the issue?

I have bamboo charcoal shoe inserts that I put in whenever I'm not wearing my shoes. It doesn't completely eliminate all odor/moisture, but it's the best thing I've found besides washing them (if possible).

Edit: These are the ones I use. They're supposed to be "rechargeable" by putting them out in the sun for a while, but I've found that I still need to replace them every so often.

I'm a really bad anxious sweater and I'm the worst in social situations. It's been the worst at school - from late high school to my last few years in college. Once I get the littlest bit overheated, I get nervous about sweating, and the viscous cycle begins.

I bought myself one of these handheld mini fans and it's been the best thing ever. People have even asked me to borrow it, and I have no shame in using it. It's actually really handy and I bring it a lot of places (school, work, vacation, camping). It helps get my mind off of the sweating and cools me down. 3 power modes, and it charges with a USB charger.

Honestly one of the biggest things for me is just giving myself extra time to get there. I travel from out of town to my college, so I listen to a podcast and enjoy the AC in my car. If I give myself some extra time to get to school, 15 minutes to chill out, cool down with my fan (lol), and get my mind off of it before class.

It's a huge mind over matter thing for me. If I don't think about it, I don't sweat. When I start to get anxious, sometimes I try to think of my senses - start to ask yourself about things you hear, see, touch, etc. That helps clear my mind a mo

Also, I wear primarily black, white, and patterns. So at least if I sweat, it's not super noticeable. I bring an extra shirt if I need to. Headbands and hats help too - I sweat a lot from my hairline area so a patterned headband helps hide it (not sure if this would work if you're a guy though haha).

I just buy it at a local pharmacy, but it’s available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Perspirex-Underarm-Roll-on-Antiperspirant-25ml/dp/B018IZWPDS

Hope it works!

The most important evolution in my wardrobe is Dri-Fit stuff. Like this.

The material holds up better than cotton polos and as long as the design isn't too sporty, it's appropriate for professional wear and club wear. So I can wear something appropriate that doesn't show any sweat and is ridiculously comfortable.

Maybe a bit unrelated, but when I have been regularly exercising I find that I sweat excessively much less day to day.

The only thing I've tried for my hands is this, and it doesn't work for me. It does help when lifting weights but it's more of a sticky tack than a dry feeling.

Thanks for your reply! Are we talking about this ?

This does not irritate you at all?

Woah you don't want or need something that big. I bought 3 of these lantern batteries and wired them in series with alligator clips. I used it for 10min then switched polarity for another 10 for a week and had super dry hands for a month.

i made a post looking for help about dry mouth related symptoms a while back, my main problems with oxybutynin have been linked to that. i get really bad dry mouth, which causes bad breath, and i would wake up with my mouth tasting horrible. all the research i did basically just suggested specific brands of toothpaste, mouthwash, sprays, etc made for this which i wasn't exactly interested in (didn't seem like enough) but i did find a dental probiotic that i think has improved things. there are a bunch on amazon if you just search for them, but this is the one i got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ONB9JIG?psc=1
idk, it made sense to me to keep your mouth bacteria in check so maybe it's worth a shot for you as well

u/norwigga · 3 pointsr/Hyperhidrosis

Most likely because it’s so dry. Try mints with xylitol or xylitol gum. You can find them in grocery or drug stores, and it makes you salivate. There’s also xylitol spray (biotene) that you can carry with you, it should help quite a bit.

I got some mints off of Amazon that stick to the inside of your gums. They were kind of expensive though, cheap ones do the same thing without the sticking to your mouth part... Here are the ones I got.
