I didn't do anything for my retrieval because I was way too gloomy and I thought they would give me free socks (with the cool sticky stuff on the bottom!) but instead, they made me put on these weird stiff paper things for my feet, and it was sad and depressing.

So I am also half-heartedly wondering about cute/lucky socks!

Edit: so these are now a serious contender.

Shit. Getting the results of a failed mtese sucks in so many ways. (We did the tese timed with IVF with donor backup plan too)

First I think I would cancel the transfer (Looking back I wish I had done a freeze-all for physical and emotional reasons anyways). Worst case it only stalls you like 6 weeks til you can do a FET but enough time for both of you to talk and process.

Second, talk. talk. talk. My husband was very ok with going donor and fully expected the tese to fail so mostly it was me talking. I went to the terrible negative loop too. But I forced myself to look at the stories from the other side too, the kids that are so thankful for their donors and their parents. I also found this book helpful. It's talks about the good and bad of donor from the medical side, parents, and the kids.

Everyone is different but for me educating myself on the topic and talking to families that had positive donor experiences really helped.
