I would say an x100s is about as user-friendly as a mid-level DSLR. There is no full auto mode like you'll find in an entry-level DSLR (like the Canon Rebel series). You would certainly be able to get decent pictures without advanced photographic knowledge, although you wouldn't be using the camera to its high potential; if you don't want to think too much about the process of taking the picture, you could get a good P&S like the Canon PowerShot and save some money. The x100s would be a great camera to learn on, though, in my opinion.

Don't buy a Yeti!! Blue mics are generally overpriced and offer the same quality that a cheaper alternative will get you. Get an AT2020 XLR and a phantom powered mixer. It'll be much much better than a Yeti and you can fine tune your audio settings with the mixer. If you don't want to deal with a mixer there is a USB version of the AT2020 that should save you $30.

There's also this bundle for $180 that comes with a Windtech Windscreen (Which is awesome, I use it on my AT2035) a pair of headphones and the AT2020 USB+.

oh, so marketing, you say. i feel this price would only be justified depending on what brand hubs/rims/tires are on this thing. from that pic they look generic...

after looking at specs - yes, they are indeed generic. you'll note they name the brand of the tires, which aren't that special, but not the brand of the hubs and rims, which are a big deal to many people. so i conclude they are generic off brand. spend your money better elsewhere. i recommend buying this frame and building on it. spend way less and get even more bang for your buck

A cheaper alternative that has worked REALLY well for me (especially if you're not a professional but still want great quality) is the Samson C01U. And it's USB!

See if you can put your hands on this Berghaus Freeflow (Amazon UK) - it's the same size and I think it has very similar features to the Osprey, but the huge gap between the rucksack and your back is absolutely revolutionary and has increased comfort of my hiking tenfold!

I absolutely love my Sigma 10-20mm.

You don't get the f2.8 speed, but otherwise it's a fantastic ultra-wide for the price.

I built a similar system last time I upgraded my PC (though with a GTX 660i and the previous generation Intel Core i5). I was lucky because I already had a nice case. Those things can be costly.

You may still be able to find a cheaper case. Consider a microATX case as they can be cheaper than the miniITX ones and still fit the smaller motherboard.

I personally got Sony MDR-1706's not too long ago and absolutely love them. They've been making them for decades and they haven't changed at all. Check them out, certainly a lower price point than the Audio-Technica's and they are fantastic monitors: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000AJIF4E

If you do think about getting them, find some replacement earpads (the ones made out of velour). The stock ones are the same fake leather stuff that comes on most headphones and it makes a world of difference. The earpads I bought from Amazon aren't available in the UK for some reason, but I'm sure you can find them somewhere. With them (and even without them) the headphones are incredibly comfortable. I'll wear them for hours at a time with no problems.

Samson C01U. I just found out Amazon has a package where it comes with headphones and a pop filter and some other stuff for 10 bucks more than the cost of the mic itself. Link

That along with this mic stand should get you going.

Edit: Btw, the pop filter I bought was almost 18 dollars, so the package was definitely worth it.

Back a couple years ago I might've had to if they had put an SSD in. But SSDs have come a long way and are considerably cheaper than they were previously. Take a look at this, the Amazon price history of the 120gb SSD currently in my rig I made back in 2012. It's interesting stuff and hopefully as the technology gets even cheaper we can start seeing it as the standard.

My two cents if you're saving up for quality:

For $100-200 you can buy a proper coffee maker, such as a Bonavita BVA1800TH which should run you roughly $125-150 and will actually get the water hot enough and spread it with a shower head to make properly extracted coffee, and it comes with a thermal carafe.

If you aren't going to drink all of the coffee that you're putting into it right away, avoid the carafe heater and get something thermal. It's best to stay away from glass carafes and carafe heaters.

If you don't care about any of that, this looks like a good deal.

I dont have these ones exactly I have these ones. Four years ago I fractured my femur and since then I have had chronic knee pain that has prevented me from doing a ton of running/hiking. Getting these has been amazing because after you adjust the way you run to propper form landing on the balls of your feet the rest of me gets tired before I feel it in my feet. Also If you can I recommend finding a store around that you can find your exact size because they are in EU sizes and they are supposed to fit very precisely.

I purchased the Jawbone Big Jambox last fall.

I researched the Bose, listened to them side by side and thought the Jambox sounded better. They recently did a software update to get 2 more hours out of the battery.

Personally I don't like being tied to any one company. I like choice. One of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004LO098O/ref=pd_aw_sbs_1?pi=SL500_SS115&simLd=1 and a callcentrics account or any similar company will do the same thing.

FWIW, the only difference between this and the cheaper model is that this one can plug into a mixing board.
