No problem! Yeah, the biggest hurdle I had to overcome with Inform 7 was the assumption that a natural language programming language would be more able to pick up on my intent, but it's just like learning any other language. I like Inform because it's so readable and easy to manage.

If you have more questions about this particular piece of code, you can respond to me or to infinull. Keep in mind that the only user to be notified of your response is the one who posted what you respond to. If you have something else that you get stuck on, it would be a good idea to create a new post. If you don't get a reply, tag me in a comment on the post (with u/Kayoscape) and I'll do my best to help!

As for the Intfiction forum, are you behind a VPN? That's happened to me before on other sites.

Something that really helped me out (and still does from time to time) is Ron Newcomb's Inform 7 for Programmers. And if you're prepared to dive in headfirst, I wholeheartedly recommend reading through Creating Interactive Fiction with Inform 7 by Aaron Reed. Also, don't be afraid to browse the manuals built into Inform 7's IDE and also available here.

Good luck with your project!
