15. Cooper Discoverer STT Pro All- Season Radial Tire-LT225/75R16 112Q

    Features:
  • ARMOR-TEK3 CARCASS PROTECTION - Cooper's proprietary and proven full 3-ply carcass construction in the tread and sidewall provides 50% more protection against impact damage than standard 2-ply tires: The third ply is oriented at an optimal angle to the first two ply's to maximize carcass protection in extreme off-road conditions
  • 3-2 INNER TREAD RIBS - The inner tread ribs of the Discoverer STT PRO are positioned in an alternating 3-2 pattern: This unique hybrid design provides a number of significant performance benefits like: reduced road noise, increased stability and handling, superior soft surface (trail) and mud traction, balanced wear, and reduced tendency for vehicle drift commonly experienced on fitments with aggressive off-road tires
  • LARGE DEPTH SIDE BITERS - The Discoverer STT PRO features large, specially-designed cleats of rubber (side biters) on the shoulder area of the sidewall, to enhance traction and grip in muddy or soft terrains and in rock crawling situations where maximum grip is essential: The orientation and design of these cleats promotes traction on inclines, reducing the chances of tire side-slip
  • FLEX GROOVE - The "flex groove" is a small, circumferential groove in the buttress region that generates a designed flex point in the tire: This ability to flex in a predetermined location provides a smoother ride by helping to dampen the impact generated by inconsistencies in pavement, potholes and gravel: In tough off-road situations where tires are sometimes aired down, this groove allows the tread and side biter to better conform and work together when traversing irregular, tough obstacles
  • ALTERNATING MUD SCOOP & ASYMMETRICAL SCALLOP - The asymmetrical scallops on alternating lugs direct mud into the mud scoops to allow the Discoverer STT PRO to pull through muddy terrains with ease: These “scoops” act as shovels to consistently dig in as the tire rotates: Scoop by scoop the Discoverer STT PRO digs in and will confidently pull your vehicle through the toughest situations

It's been my experience that the off-roading opportunities close to town are hit or miss. You probably don't want to go tearing down powerline trails without 4wd or some rescue plans. There's a deer lease out HWY 10 that's sometimes open, but it may be frowned upon. There's no purple paint or signs that I've seen, but it's usually gated.

If you go keep following 10 all the way out to HWY 9, though, you can be reasonably sure you can handle most of the forest roads out in the Ouachitas, as long as you use your head and stick to the main roads. South on 9 from the intersection will take you to the turn-off for a designated "off-road" auto-tour. There are miles of tame forest service roads out there, and the Flatside Wilderness is truly spectacular. Here's a little inspiration from my recent adventures!

Head north and it's a similar story in the Ozark National Forest. Most of the Forest Service roads will be fine. Get yourself an Arkansas Gazeteer for those areas where cell service might be spotty. It does a pretty good job labeling roads, too (forest, unimproved, etc.). It's your adventure. You can make it as wild as you want, but there are lots of dirt and gravel back-roads all over the state. I imagine you could get from Lake Village to Bentonville with very limited asphalt, if you set your mind to it. If you're going alone, or even without another vehicle in your party, it's probably a good idea to tell somebody where you're heading and when you expect to be back. Be safe!

Here's a list I've started compiling for when I get some extra money. You may have seen quite a bit of it, but in case it helps:

Wheels:
For some reason the site said this wouldn't fit but it looks like the same dimensions as the one below it
But the first ones here are the ones i want

https://www.roadreadywheels.com/products/2007-2011-16x6-5-chevrolet-hhr-steel-wheel-rim?gclid=Cj0KEQjw8-LnBRCyxtfMl-Cbu48BEiQA6eUMGg4BPXpGrXRT8YUYRu14lA49XXZ4EaF6p8BvaciStdgaAlCY8P8HAQ

Alternatively i know these would fit:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-16-x6-5-5-Lug-Chevrolet-HHR-05-11-Malibu-04-08-Black-Steel-Wheel-Rim-/202089835816?oid=191774275540

Daystar 1.5 Lift:
https://www.quadratec.com/products/76058_9168.htm

Instructions for lift:
https://wayalife.com/showthread.php/33412-Jeep-Renegade-Daystar-1-5-quot-Lift-Kit-Installation-Write-Up

spacers: i think i need 'em for the tires i want

it's weird that the link says 25mm but the site says they are 17mm http://www.renegadeready.com/25mm-Wheel-Spacer-Kit--BLACK--All-4-Wheels_p_76.html

I think these tires but on a thread the guy said he gets slight rubbing at 3/4 with pretty much the same set up:

So these have 5 percent shorter wall, hoping that would help alleviate that:

Co-sign. Got [these] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W8DBZQU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_T-3pybYAMY8RT) as a birthday gift after buying my Renegade; life changing. Not only are they dimensionally fitted for the Renegade but they snap into place. About $90 so I'm unsure if that fits your definition of cheap. Just an idea. There are other brands out there that would be cheaper than Mopar, probably just wouldn't fit the Renegade perfectly like these. If that's too much, just be sure to ask for something rubberized. So easy to clean.

u/tburns517 · 1 pointr/JeepRenegade

Yeah I still need to do the interior. When we had one decent week (was in the 60s) before the cold came back, I did a quick sweep and wipe down, but it definitely wasn’t good enough.

I did change out all of the front bulbs (headlights, DRLs, fogs) as well as the side marker covers and bulbs. The front are LED-like halogen bulbs, and the side markers are LEDs. I made a post about the front lights last year. The side markers I bought off of Amazon.

I would recommend going for actual LEDs if you can afford it. The halogens look close to LEDs, are cheaper, and I haven’t had any issues, but the light output isn’t all that great and I can tell there is a slight yellow hue to them despite the blue coating. No complaints with the side markers. They look awesome.

I haven't forgotten you. I'll be sending over some pics today, but in the meantime A photo album of the project can be found here, sorry for the pics being out of order, but all of your measurements and locations should be included in those pics. Also, here are some things that you'll need -- what you will be making is actually able to hold considerable weight so I feel that it winds up being even better than the cover that we can't find:

  • (1) sheet of plywood -- thickness is up to you, but I would recommend
1/2" -- you will want the following measurements -- so it will just barely sit on the small ledge that is there and also give you room after you add the heavy-duty felt:

    Length = 38.50"
    Width (Depth) = 19"

  • (1) wood 2x4 --- you'll only need about 4" and will be cutting this in half.

  • (2) 2.5" or 3" wood screws -- you'll want to get good quality for these because they will be taking most of the abuse.

  • (~8) 1/2" or 1" wood screws.

  • (2) 1" or 2" max, toggle bolts to mount the clothes pole sockets to the side of the cargo area. These will be holding the weight and there also isn't much clearance in that part of the cargo area because of the wheel well.

  • (~8) yards of heavy-duty felt --- this can be found in the craft section of WalMart if you do not have a JoAnne's or other fabric store in your area. You'll want to make sure that this is the tough kind of felt, not the kind that most crafts are done with where its stretchy and you can almost pull it apart with your fingers. I was able to find mine on clearance at my local walmart for about $1.50 a yard.

  • Black spray paint -- to match the inside plastic of the cargo area -- regular black matte finish works fine -- you will need to do touch-ups periodically.

  • (1) can of 3M Super 77 spray adhesive (Link - Not an affiliate link I promise) -- this is available at WalMart and other stores as well.

  • (1) set of clothes pole sockets (Link - Not an affiliate link I promise) -- these are available at WalMart and other stores as well.

  • (1) wood dowel rod or clothes closet pole (really going to be dependent on what you can get a deal on, you'll only need about 8") that is the same diameter as the clothes pole sockets that you select.

I had that IPOW in my work truck, it lasted about 3 weeks. Not a bad concept, but it was lacking in construction.

I got one of these and have been very happy. Just a good holder, no charging, but I like the reach of it and it really feels sturdy. Galaxy Note 5 if that helps on what size phone you might use.

u/TheSmokey1 · 1 pointr/JeepRenegade

I've used this with really great success: iOttie Easy One Touch 3 (V2.0) Car Mount Universal Phone Holder for iPhone X 8/8 Plus 7 7 Plus 6s Plus 6s 6 SE Samsung Galaxy S9 S9 Plus S8 Plus S8 Edge S7 S6 Note 8 5 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BZC262Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_4KdLBbXW7QBVK

The suction pad is really sticky. It's not a normal suction pad. The sticky part helps it to really cling to whatever it's attached to. I use it on the dash vents on top, though I think I have it attached to one of those large round disks that I stuck first to give the mount something to grab to.

Not all that 'smoked' but look so much better then those bright orange abominations that are stock. I honestly think it's my favorite thing I've done.

Crossbars are: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0100WNVLM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_iG6JAbY647309

Ski / snowboard rack: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K5HSNL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_rH6JAbMN60AW2

I went with the Subaru part number on the Thule rack, just because I knew it was the size I wanted. You can definitely find cheaper / similar racks.

The crossbars are pretty generic too. You can probably find these for even half of this price. I thought $100 shipped was pretty good at the time!

Neither are actually Renegade specific.

Edit: Reason I went with the Subaru Thule part number. Everything has to match!

To all who are interested I finally found a set of led drls that don’t stay on when the car is off and no lite on the dash they are super white and way brighter than the JDM lights here is the link

I did the roof rack and cargo basket install myself, maybe took 2-3 hours the first time with help. Instructions make it very easy. The parts are below, you can check my post history to see a few other posts where I showed it off.

I originally put it at the front of the rails, but moved it to the back to see if it helped my MPG. That being said, I've lost 1-2MPG for obvious cargo basket reasons, but I still love the thing. The wind noise isn't that bad but it's slightly noticable. I've seen some cooler looking, more "low profile" baskets that look nice, but I'm fine with the Yakima.

Mines (2018) didn’t come with any mats. They couldn’t even order any for me — they said that Jeep didn’t make them for the 2018 model yet (I was buying a 2018 model in late April so that didn’t make sense to me).
Anyways, bought them online on amazon. Was hesitant but luckily they fit like a glove and got them for about $90

It's this one

TYGER Heavy Duty Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Rack | L47" x W37" x H6" | Roof Top Luggage Carrier | With Wind Fairing https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FNDCSTO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_KDP7ybPW49KGK

It appears to be 100% identical to the rhino, but over $100 cheaper. Only difference is it says tyger instead of rhino. I didn't know the x style came in any other size. Really doesn't matter. I. The three months I've had it, I put nothing in it except my my crushed dreams of good gas milage. Looks cool though 😂

u/heathvs · 2 pointsr/JeepRenegade

I bought these 49.75" bars for my '15 TH and they fit pretty perfectly (width-wise) with maybe an inch extra on either side.

u/RubAnADUB · 1 pointr/JeepRenegade

Here are the ones I bought. work / fit / look great in my 2019 Jeep Renegade.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XHCQ8KY/

Also 38$ vs. 70$ is a better deal.

u/MyD0gNeedsaJ0b · 2 pointsr/JeepRenegade

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005NLQAHS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484015185&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=obd+ii+bluetooth&dpPl=1&dpID=416SaTHOpkL&ref=plSrch

Get one of these. Download an OBD app. The apps I've used will bring up specific codes and read out faults.

I will add that this may not be rock solid advice as I've heard of some newer vehicles freaking out and requiring their software to be reinstalled. If it Renegade, I wouldn't hesitate to give it a shot in your circumstances.

You may be thinking "This isn't good advice because I want to know now" and don't want to wait for shipping. I still recommend ordering one even if you explore other avenues. I bought this exact unit and it has paid for itself multiple times just in fuel savings of driving to a AutoZone/dealership.

Wish you luck and hope the best for you and your Renegade!

u/BurntPaper · 1 pointr/JeepRenegade

It's the Yakima Loadwarrior on top of the Reese crossbars (The crossbars are from Walmart). It's been a pretty solid setup, but I do wish the weight rating were a bit higher. I went a bit over the limit with 15 gallons of gas in jerry cans.

u/JVDS · 1 pointr/JeepRenegade

This is the one I run on mine. It fits well and looks nice. But the knobs whistle quite a bit. This can be solved with a bit of hot glue.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002M3KSK0/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/Xerous · 2 pointsr/JeepRenegade

I went with a very similar setup and just installed the cargo basket today! I got some decent but cheaper knockoffs of a very similar crossbar (a bit lower profile) on ebay. I had to hit em with some plastidip to black em out. ebay link

and the same rack but just another brand and a bit cheaper: amazon link

I agree the combo of low profile bars and that style basket is a great look on a Rene.

u/OnTheClock_Slackin · 2 pointsr/JeepRenegade

Don;t ignore an engine light, even if it goes away. You can stop by a locak auto parts store (auto zone, reilleys, etc) and they will scan for free in most states. It could be as simple as a loose gas cap or it could be a bigger problem, but if the light is coming on at all there is definitely something wrong. Maybe just a flukey sensor, but if the sensor is flukey then it's not really giving you truthful information about what it should be monitoring. You could also buy an ODB2 bluetiooth scanner tool on amazon for like $18, plug it in, connect to your phone and you can pull the codes yourself to see whats wrong.
