Ah yes! That’s Neuroscientist Dr. Michele Ross she is an amazing Human Being who is a former drug researcher for the National Institute on Drug Abuse who later evolved supporting medical marijuana and psychedelics for medicinal use.

Her advocacy is really great and Dr. Ross says she sought out non-neurotoxic, nonaddictive DMT to help her heal from trauma. Her empathy and experience really expresses her ability to see everything for what it is which as a researcher can be difficult for a variety of reasons and her boldness in her degree to express openly is really remarkable, respectful, and expansive. It’s influences like Dr. Ross that make a difference in the system. God Bless this powerful Woman.

In the link Dr. Ross describes her DMT trip in detail and is a great listen, I cannot recall from what source, but I have seen her speak about it before, I thought maybe the documentary ‘DMT: The Spirit Molecule’ but I don’t see her casted on IMDB so I am a little perplexed...🤔 eh memory is mental fuckery anyway.

There is a great book Vitamin Weed by Dr. Michele Ross
In this book Dr. Ross teaches the Use of Cannabis To Prevent and Treat Disease with a groundbreaking 4-step plan to prevent and reverse endocannabinoid deficiency that changes the way we use medical marijuana.

She also offers courses on her website where you can learn about cannabis which is really great especially if you are a patient, caregiver, doctor, cannabis coach, or just curious about it, these courses are very informative and useful. Check her out she is pretty dope.

Have you heard of the amazing Human Being Rick Strassman,PhD?

Back to your experiences have you changed anything about yourself because of these intense moments experienced through DMT?

And what a great name for that podcast “reset.me” totally adding it to my iTunes! thanks for sharing that clip!

"Let me break down to you why not only should you change your perspective on UBI, but why you should know it's inevitable... and I'll use my own words years ago when Joe Rogan first heard about it, and thankfully since then he's shifted his stance... and hopefully you as well."

Tighten your sphincter holes ladies because this is a long one. So... before we begin let's throw out some palabras:

The Strange Reality of Fiat Money

Debt-damned economics: either learn monetary reform, or kiss your assets goodbye

•1 billion living in poverty

•15% live below poverty line in US

• 46.2 million Americans are on food stamps

• There’s no 100% capitalist or socialist country in the world

• Corporate profits are at an all-time high

• Unemployment is at multi-decade low

• Shallowest period of job recovery (jobless recovery)

The statement “r > g” (meaning that the rate of return on capital is generally higher than the rate of economic growth)

50% jobs will be completely automated by 2040, and other estimates saying sooner, by 2030: Transportation, retail sales, first line supervisors, cashiers, secretaries, managers, registered nurses, elementary school teachers, janitors/cleaners. Multibillion dollar companies’ are hiring fewer and fewer people. Combine Apple, Google, Facebook, and Amazon, they are worth 1$ trillion, but only have created 150,000 jobs.... marinate on that for a moment. Now Uber has acquired $18 billion in a short amount of time, however, they only employ a few hundred people. This leads to inequality, and situations like these only exacerbates it. Humanity desperately needs to reassess the future.

Structural inequality, means that it’s ingrained the system the same way money is. The fairy stale we tell ourselves, it’s inevitable and it’s the nature of capitalism. However, countries have already successfully redistributed wealth through policies and innovations like South Korea and Germany. But nobody has an answer to structural inequality. Nobody is having this discussion, but instead it’s a simplistic argument of agreeing or disagreeing with the argument about what they might do or whether it’s morally right. Or you might disagree because it’s atrocious or it’s not going to work, and you just can’t give money for whatever reason. And that is where the inherent challenge lies, so we should be asking the salient question: How much it will cost? How to pay for it? How to finance it? Would people stop working if they just receive an income? And will it solve the problem? Humanity should focus on the goal, not the story or the fairy tale that we tell ourselves, which Joe lost on during his interview with Eddie. He was very attached to and he defended it quite well through his wit and humor, but it’s still a devil’s advocate fallacy, and I'll address that further down.

So we need to think about the goal, otherwise it’s going to end up like the discussion with capitalism and socialism for perpetuity. We don’t have that time. A good starting point is from Article 25 of the International Declaration of Human Rights from the UN, it states: EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO A STANDARD OF LIVING ADEQUATE FOR THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF HIMSELF AND OF HIS FAMILY, INCLUDING FOOD, CLOTHING, HOUSING AND MEDICAL CARE AND NECESSARY SOCIAL SERVICES […]

So does a basic income fulfill this goal or not? Because if it does, it won’t matter the dissenters ideology because it’s actually fulfilling the goal. Now, look at the experiments in 14 countries (out of 200 industrialized countries) 3 were unconditional UBI, and only two had more than a thousand. Let’s be clear here, this still isn’t enough data to argue for or against the issue because we simply don’t know or haven’t done enough experiments. But anyways, let’s start with two big industrialized nations:

CANADA

• 5 years (1974-79)

• ~10,000 People

• $500/Month

─ Hospitalization rates fell by 8.5%

─ Only two groups worked less: Women who took extended maternity leave and (male) youth.

─ High school completion rates increases

INDIA

• 3 years (2011-13)

• 6,000 Peoples

• $4/month (40% subsistence)

─ Improved food sufficiency

─ Improved nutrition

─ Increase in livestock

─ No increase in alcohol consumption

─ Reduced incidence of illness

─ Improved school attendance

─ People were 3 times more likely to start their own business

These results are definitely promising, but still inconclusive because there have been so few experiments. There are other open ended questions that need to be addressed, and that is rent. Suppose each one of us receives $1,000 dollars every month, what happens to rent? If you’re not a homeowner and you have a landlord instead, what’s stopping them (other than policy or mechanisms) to raise the rent exactly $1,000 dollars? But that inherently increases inequality because you’re moving more capital to those who already have capital, based on Thomas Piketty’s research. So actually, UBI would actually increase inequality and increase poverty, and destroy the middle class even faster. And then if you get rid of social programs and arbitrarily tell everyone to do whatever they want with their income so we don’t need this bureaucracy, because you don’t need so much social programs and government involvement. Well, everyone here should be abundantly aware by now (I fucking hope) what happens when you privatize healthcare. Quality goes down, prices go up, and everything goes to hell. So we have to remember that it’s not going to be a panacea, because complex things such as UBI need to be contextualized, and if implemented, they must be a comprehensive package of larger reforms, and the larger implications of what you’re doing. And it must be different in other countries because of different social contexts, social adaptation, and social norms, and not everybody is at the same social level. So it’s never going to be one size fits all. And of course, it always goes back to we don’t have enough experiments to come to anything conclusive. Which is why we need politicians and the people who are in position of mandating legislation to warrant more research and study, just like other controversial (but beneficial)* reforms as the legalization of marijuana and MDMA therapy.

Politicians who want to get on board and help should:

• Conduct their own experiment with at least 10,000 people

• Control Group

• Truly Unconditional

• More than two years

• True basic income

The key points is it has to be unconditional and long term because if they know it’s going to last 2 years, they can plan for the future, because if you only conduct the experiment for 6 months, you’re not going to see the social dynamics that actually unfold in a complex society. And it must be a true basic income, not a fraction of a percent, of like 10-40% of the poverty line, it must be, many economists suggest about half the median income, or somewhere close to that number. And we need detailed feasibility studies, because nobody has done a thorough research looking at all the implications in the economic activity in the largest sense of the broader research. The technology is available to make things easier especially for entrepreneurs to run a basic income experiment, thanks to block chains and crypto-currencies. And in developing countries mobile payments are very successful, like in Kenya.

Ok, two different categories of recs that arent exactly what you asked for but you might want to put on the radar:

  1. Superbly enjoyable stories of bad-assery: I love Alistair MacLean's (historical fiction) books. These two are my favorite. They are the alpha male equivalent of romance beach novels. They are excellent:
    South by Java Head: https://www.amazon.com/South-Java-Head-Alistair-MacLean/dp/0006172482
    The Guns of Navarone: https://www.amazon.com/Guns-Navarone-Alistair-MacLean/dp/0006172474

  2. Marcus Aurelius's Meditations is the single book I would take with me to an island. It reads like a conversation with a friend. Not archaic, not heavy or overwrought, and yet gets to the essence of what it means to be a good man and live a good life. General Mattis used to carry this in combat. I suggest reading it bits at a time, in 20-30 minute sessions. https://www.amazon.com/Meditations-Thrift-Editions-Marcus-Aurelius/dp/048629823X

Some quotes from #2 to give you a sense. Crazy this was just a roman emperor's diary 2000 years ago:

“When you arise in the morning think of what a privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love ...”

“Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.”

“The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.”

“Whenever you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question: What fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?”

“The first rule is to keep an untroubled spirit. The second is to look things in the face and know them for what they are.”
“Nothing happens to anybody which he is not fitted by nature to bear.”

I've heard several Trumpians slip similar terms into conversations. Just yesterday a pro-Trump friend of mine, drew a comparison between family and nation by saying: "It's like mommy's gone and daddy isn't going to put up with the same bullshit as her."

I don't know if this metaphor emerged naturally or as a byproduct of a broadly distributed theme amongst the movement. In either case, it's been fairly well-described by George Lakoff as "strict-father" v. "nurturant parent" models of political thought. From [a 2004 SvN blog post](* https://signalvnoise.com/archives/000718.php):

> What the strict-father model attempts to accomplish is this: it is assumed children have to learn self-discipline and self-reliance and respect for authority. Now another important part of this model, in America but not in other countries, has to do with what happens when such children mature. The slogan, “eighteen and out,” is common. The mature children are supposed to be off on their own as soon as possible. Good parents don’t interfere in their lives. If the nation is the family and the government is the parent, in the strict-family model, the government shouldn’t meddle in their lives.

> When I looked at the liberal model of the family, I found it a very different model. It assumes the main thing a parent has to do is care for and care about his child. It is through being cared for and cared about that children become responsible, self-disciplined and self-reliant. The purpose is to make children become nurturers, too. Obedience for children comes out of love and respect for parents, not out of fear of punishment. Instead of punishment, you have restitution.

If you don't want to buy/read the books, here are some digestible references:

I’ll answer for him. Carson was beyond a household name. Carson was prolific and rightfully so. For most of his career there were only a few channels and he was the only late night show there was. Everyone in the country looked to him and his show for what was going on in entertainment.

Just making it on The Tonight Show as a comedian didn’t guarantee that you would breakthrough to be a household name. What would do that is if Johnny waived you over after your set to sit and talk w/ him. This only happened rarely when Johnny really liked you. Those people INSTANTLY became incredibly well known and their careers skyrocketed.

This is where your comparison falls apart. Obviously Joe Rogan is huge... but not Johnny Carson huge. Everyone in the country knew who Johnny Carson was. Everyone. Not everyone knows who Joe Rogan is. Not even close. Older people especially. They may have heard his name but it doesn’t register anything. Relatively unknown comedians that go on his show get a bump for sure... but not instantly hugely famous. That’s the difference. If Johnny waived you over for a chat... instant household name. When low level comedians like Tim Dillon or Luis J Gomez go on JRE they get a decent bump in popularity. Go ask some random people if they know who Dave Smith, Steve Hofstetter, Jay Oakerson, Kyle Dunnigan etc. is. I’d bet dollars to doughnuts they have no idea.

That make sense?

Edit: You’re clearly a Carson fan. I very much am as well. I highly recommend this box set. Got it a few years back. It’s great.

Smart Swarm: How to Work Efficiently, Communicate Effectively, and Make Better Decisions Using the Secrets of Flocks, Schools, and Colonies by Peter Miller

Very interesting and enlightening read. Bought this at the airport a while ago. A lot of the knowledge presented was new to me so it has been pretty stimulating so far. I studied Industrial Engineering so the systemic nature of swarm intelligence is pretty darn neat. I like the section on honeybees the most so far.

The most authentic version is in original sanskrit. Oppenheimer actually dedicated his time to learning sanskrit to read it in it's original form since it feels more "powerful" in the original language it was written in. (Possibly there was not good translations available in his days?).

As a beginner you really just need to get your dick wet, I would recommend going to your local library but if you want to have a copy at home then what you are really looking for is one with the best translation, here are two:

The Bhagavad Gita (Classic of Indian Spirituality)

This one has a ton of 5-star Amazon reviews and barely any negatives so it should definitely work. I have not read it so I cannot give a personal opinion.

Bhagavad-Gita As It Is

I can speak on this one because I have read it. It actually got a few shitty reviews on amazon due to the translator supposedly interjecting his personal beliefs at a certain part (I think?). However, as a beginner I found it to be written very well and I would definitely give it 5 stars. Maybe I don't know as much about the gita as to argue some of things that the negative reviews were concerned about, but I largely read the gita to get an understanding of it and not to base my life upon it. Every separate text is given in sanskrit, then hindi, then converted word-for-word into english, then translated, then the author gives a good explanation of exactly what the text means in context to the story and how to apply it to your learning of the gita. However as you and I share the common ground of JRE, it's safe to assume you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Sometimes this or this helps...there is beauty in the world.

They say learning and working on your craft breeds mindfulness and keeps you centered. What is your craft? Computer programming is a modern craft that requires no money to start...just open up text editor and the terminal and away you go. Try this or this, lifelong learning can keep your mind clean and clear.

The Bhagavad Gita helps me as well.

Our minds are like a prison...but there are no locked doors. Only you can find your way out. Good luck.

Most likely some version of the "zoo hypothesis (scientific observation) or staged contact." Even if they have no intention of direct communication, it does as you point out seem pretty clear they want to be seen sometimes. It could be to acclimatise people to our presence, or it could be that they have a non intervention policy except to when it comes to disrupting our nuclear weapons and military maneuvers. It could also be that they are assessing our military capabilities at a time when we aren't carrying live ammunition to engage. It's highly unlikely we can damage them, but we could damage each other, and matters could escalate.

Personally, in this incident, I suspect they were most interested in what was under the sea (the tic tac was above breakin waves)- i.e the nuclear subs that were part of the carrier group. The connection between overt UFO displays and nuclear installations and assets is widely known. I'd recommend this filmand Robert Hasting's book you're interested. The best most factual UFO doc out there IMO.

I recommend getting this hemp protein instead. It's Nutiva brand, I've been using it for a month, and it actually tastes pretty good. I mix a bit of raw kale powder, some peanut butter, crushed ice, and dark chocolate almond milk. The mix is fucking legit.
As for an alpha brain alternative, I've been using Neurozyme. Way better in the long run and not lab made. Everything is derived naturally. The neurozyme I can say has given me some underlying benefits in thinking in a more clear manner. I hope this helps some. I love Joe Rogan but his business practices aren't practical for an average income consumer.

Thats what I used to think as well. Just bunch of pseudo science religious words put together. However, the more I go around the sun, and the more deeper I go down the rabbit hole, the more and more that very FIRST album makes more sense. Sure, some may be considered pseudo science to some, but they are definitely not just put together willy nilly.

Have you read the earth chronicles, or The Holographic Universe ? Or listened to some Jordan Maxwell? Maybe some Michael Tsarion?

u/MonoChinEnthusiast · 0 pointsr/JoeRogan

Your best bet is buying this and adding it to a smoothie or something. The other ingredients that you choose can mask the flavor. Also I recommend not focusing as much on taste. Sometimes you have to discipline your taste buds.

This documentary blew my mind.

I'm currently reading Acid Dreams: The Complete Social History of LSD: The CIA, The Sixties and Beyond ... and it's blowing my mind even more. Every paragraph is like http://i.imgur.com/EMrknJP.gif . If you like this documentary, you simply MUST read this book. It's fucking unbelievable. The CIA (and eventually the Army) loved LSD in the 50's and 60's and were doing all kinds of crazy and sketchy shit with it.
