I wanted to let you guys know a little bit about what's been done and what's kind of in the works over at the JBRCE. u/-searchinGirl has been doing some editing as well as what this post announces.

One thing that someone expressed was that citations in certain sections aren't well rounded enough and don't incorporate some of the newer books and materials. I feel the best way to do this quickly is to crowdsource the work.

We need to get citations and material from two of the newer books, specifically Kolar's and Woodward's. What I propose is that we do like a book club here and we can kill two birds with one stone.

We'll start with Kolar and as we read each week, we'll discuss the book as well as hopefully harvest citations for the JBRCE.

The previous mod wanted to do a book club and it went about 3 weeks and stopped. I'm not going to let that happen this time. We'll see this one through to the end.

If you don't own James Kolar's book and you want to be a part of this book club, go ahead and buy it now so you'll be ready. It appears his website is out of them right now, but Amazon has them in stock for around $14 and up.

We'll get together and devise a schedule and some other organization and we'll figure out how best to go about it.

After we do that one, we'll do Paula Woodward's book. I know that lots of people dislike Paula Woodward. I understand that. Still, it is a book that is about this case by a well known figure in the orbit of this case. It's noteworthy even if you disagree with Paula or her book.

I think this is a good opportunity for everyone to have a good discussion. It's one book from each 'side'. I would be interested in any ideas or suggestions anyone might have regarding this project.

Yeah I thought that was a great quote!!

That's why the RN was so clever as well as calling all the friends over. The whole house was contaminated.

The name of the book is, "I Will Find You."

Idk about you but Homicide Hunter is one of my favorite shows. :)

> It doesn't matter whether Mary Lacy believed him or not.

Team Ramsey hired him.

I recently read the JBR chapter in his book

https://www.amazon.com/Cases-That-Haunt-Us/dp/0671017063

The Cases that Haunt Us.

I like John Douglas a lot, but this was written in about 2000 or so, and he makes some "deductions" based on his experience that turn out to be erroneous in retrospect.

As I recall, one was "strangulation before head injury", and I am pretty sure forensic scientists have determined it was head injury, then strangulation as coupe de gras. He made some assumptions based on his presumed sequence that I do not think fit.

>Edit: It was mentioned they put up a reward,

I think the reward kind of faded away many years ago?

Note: I suspect Ms. Vanessa Clark Love may be Lin Wood in disguise! She is VERY clever!

That is what authors do, promote their book. This isn't just about the murder of his daughter but his journey to find his faith and survive his grief. It's a wonderful book actually.

Your continuing posts that increasingly reveal your abysmal grasp of DNA I am finding increasingly tedious. So much so I've given up replying - almost. I was so intrigued by the 'Gordon Coombes and the 4 markers' comment that I had to go google it. And look what I came up with - your source - SuperDave! Highly acknowledged guru from Websleuths on all topics JonBenet related. Also author of self published highly acclaimed book 'An Angel Betrayed' https://www.amazon.com/Angel-Betrayed-Corruption-Destroyed-Investigation/dp/1618977083

Here it is - the quote from the man himself, where does he come up with such pronouncements? - "Thanks to Gordon Coombes, we know that they were only using a four-marker standard to "match" the touch DNA to the underwear DNA. WHICH, it's helpful to point out, only had the 9-1/2 markers, and they had to amplify it to get THAT many." http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?142791-Possible-NEW-Suspects-In-JonBenet-Ramsey-Case/page35

Oh SuperDave!! I can't believe it!! We meet again

Ok, I think ignoring the handwriting is a good idea as absolutely no expert has ever said it was Patsy anyways.

The content is the ramblings of a madman. It's toss. It is a bunch of useless words strung together. It has the literary and investigative value of talking to a drunk who lives under a bridge and has a strange handle on reality.

There is nothing within the note that points to Patsy, John or Burke as the author. The number $118,000 is about as relevant as the term attaché. People love to speculate that Patsy was a Francophile who was quoting John's bonus. The word attaché is used by people in the UK all the time for briefcase. It is a French word but it is a cross over word.

Does this prove the killer was British. In fact ( I get this is over the top) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Leather-Executive-Attache-Briefcase-Business/dp/B074VBGJ4C/ref=sr_1_104?s=luggage&ie=UTF8&qid=1519070300&sr=1-104
You can even buy an attaché case in UK pounds.

What I am trying to say is the content and handwriting have been looked at. So far,out of all the only investigators that have looked at the note, only Koby and the Gang have become convinced of Patsy's involvement.

The lady didn't speak French, the husband handed previous letters with proof of handwriting to the BPD on day one, nobody and I do mean nobody, has ever found another letter, document or paper where Patsy wrote or used the word attaché. Yet all the arm chair detectives seem to think it is conclusive proof.

You want conclusive proof. The FBI figured out which pen, which exact pen wrote the letter. Find a fingerprint on the pen or on the letter. Find a tear stain on the letter with mom's DNA.

In conclusion......it is my personal point of view that there is absolutely no evidence these people wrote the letter nor had the criminal mastermind skills to figure out how to wipe off fingerprints from paper on the fly.

>I'm not sure why it's such a problem for me or anyone to have an opinion like this.

It's not a problem but also realize that you're holding a position, it's not an opinion like "strawberry ice cream is the best ice cream flavor". I disagree that it's pointless to "argue" about things that are "only theories". This isn't a philosophy class, it's a murder case with real-life evidence. Even if all we can do is speculate with limited evidence, one still has to use verifiable information and evidence and reason to uphold one's position.

>Know anymore good books dealing with this?

Schiller's book, Steve Thomas's book, Kolar's book are essential reads.

The latter two worked officially on the case and had access to the full spectrum of evidence, unlike Douglas who was hired privately by the Ramseys and was given cherry-picked evidence by their attorneys.

One solid documentary that takes an even-handed -- yet realistic -- look at the spiraling Ramsey case saga appeared on Reelz network a few years ago. It's called, Overkill: The Unsolved Murder of JonBenet. The Executive Producer is Lawrence Schiller (Perfect Murder, Perfect Town).

u/Chikira7878 · 6 pointsr/JonBenetRamsey

The 4.5 on a 5 scale does not exist in handwriting or document analysis. Hunter made that up, and then when questioned about it tried to change the subject.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0004/17/bp.00.html

It is false that no handwriting experts identified Patsy as the ransom note author. For example:

Chet Ubowski, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation expert stated of the ransom note, "This handwriting showed indications that the writer was Patsy Ramsey." He is said to have found 24 of 26 letters in the ransom note which matched exemplars from Patsy Ramsey.

Cina Wong, a certified document examiner who currently testifies as an expert witness in cases of document fraud stated, "I found it highly probable that Patsy was the person who wrote the note. I found over 243 similarities between her handwriting and the ransom note."

Larry Zieglar, forensic document examiner, said after extensive analysis, "It was determined and still is determined by myself that Patsy Ramsey is the writer of the ransom note."

IDIs want people to believe Atlanta judge, Carnes, is the last word on the case, but there are so many errors in her decision, it is laughable. The information in it is very unreliable. Unfortunately, Carnes only had a brief submitted to her by the Ramsey defense team, as Chris Wolf's lawyer, Darnay Hoffman, who suffered from bouts of severe depression (he eventually committed suicide), did not submit anything to Carnes. The Ramsey side had asked for Summary Judgement, and so Carnes closed the case. Carnes did not see all the case files, nor did Carnes have any opposing views submitted but relied solely on information provided by the Ramseys. Furthermore, a ruling in a civil case has absolutely no bearing on a criminal case.

Lin Wood, the Ramsey attorney, used Gideon Epstein's rivalry with a different professional entity to try to discredit the work of Cina Wong. Why? Because her side by side analysis of Patsy's exemplars was so damning. Even with an attempt to disguise by using her left hand, Patsy's handwriting still had enough similarities. It has been confirmed Patsy was ambidextrous.

Please take a look at this video to see the comparisons for yourself:

https://www.investigationdiscovery.com/tv-shows/jonbenet-an-american-murder-mystery/videos/an-expert-compares-patsy-ramseys-handwriting-to-the-jonbenet-ransom-note

There is more information regarding this on the internet, including Patsy's unique figure-8 letter 'q'.

Please see this excellent analysis by Krakkadoom here on Reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/JonBenetRamsey/comments/5jrgrl/10_days_of_jonben%C3%A9tday_6_the_ransom_note_by/

Another interesting view of the ransom note comes from looking at the linguistics used by the author. A full chapter devoted to both handwriting and linguistic analysis of the ransom note is in the Kindle book "Listen Carefully: Truth and Evidence in the JonBenet Ramsey Case."

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCKGIHV

The ransom note is the one piece of evidence that is indisputably tied to JonBenet's death, yet the Ramseys ignore it. Ever since it became known that out of 73 suspects, only Patsy Ramsey's handwriting could not be eliminated, the Ramseys refuse to talk about the ransom note. Ask yourself, why?

>This would explain the books found in the Ramsey's home about kids behavioral problems

The Hurried Child--Growing Up Too Fast, by David Elkind

https://www.amazon.com/Hurried-Child-Growing-Fast-Third/dp/0738204412

Dr. David Elkind eloquently called our attention to the dangers of exposing our children to overwhelming pressures, pressures that can lead to a wide range of childhood and teenage crises. Internationally recognized as the voice of reason and compassion, Dr. Elkind showed that in blurring the boundaries of what is age appropriate, by expecting-or imposing-too much too soon, we force our kids to grow up far too fast.

Children at Risk, Dobson/Bauer

In this hard-hitting and empowering book, James Dobson and Gary Bauer expose the cultural forces endangering today's children and show what you can do to defend your family, your faith and your traditional values.

Why Johnny Can't Tell Right From Wrong, Kilpatrick

https://www.amazon.com/Johnny-Cant-Tell-Right-Wrong/dp/0671870734

America today suffers from unprecedented rates of teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, suicide, and violence. Most of the programs intended to deal with these problems have failed because, according to William Kilpatrick, schools and parents have abandoned the moral teaching they once provided.
