We bought one from Amazon that has worked well for us. He's fully grown, so I'm not sure how it would translate for a pupper. It has multiple adjustable straps which help it fitting properly. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00164SZMO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_2jTUAb7QTEAAK). We also ordered a handsfree leash with multiple hand holds that I found helpful in teaching him not to pull, and it's great for hikes. To add onto the advice you've already got with info from my breeder:

  • When they're shedding their puppy coat (which at 12 weeks, yours will have started to do) brush daily with 2 different types of brush (first one like this then a pin brush like this, making sure that the pin brush is only pins with no bobbly bits on the end). If you don't brush enough as a puppy it can stop their adult coat growing in well, and only going in weekly will leave you with a lot of knots, tangles, and possible matting. Once their adult coat has grown in, our breeder told us that we could go down to brushing 2/3x a week.
  • Avoid using perfumed products often (e.g. leave in conditioner, brushing spray, or too much product when washing every 2-4 months) because, while they smell great to us, other dogs may not like them. It's also unnecessary because keeshonds aren't a very smelly breed, and grooming while wet can pull out fur that isn't ready to come out yet. Dry them with a hair dryer on a cool setting (have lots of treats on hand because the noise is not something they like at first) and go in with the pin brush on the bits you've just dried.
  • This is the most helpful source I've found online for grooming. It has a lot of info and pictures of the brushes you should be using, and step by step instructions for bathing! It also has info about nail clipping/trimming

Also, I just want to say that is the fluffiest keeshond puppy I've ever seen. He's adorable!

My Kees used to do this exact thing - when I wasn't home she never barked or fussed but if I was home and she couldn't be near me (i.e. I'm in the bathroom) she acted like she was dying.

I never crated her when I was home except for overnight - I used an extra tall ex pen (the sides were over 4 feet tall) for when I couldn't watch her closely and mostly just let her follow me around the apartment. Even when I went to the bathroom or took a shower she just wanted to hang out next to me - she would just stand outside the shower and rest her head on the side of the tub watching me like a creep.

I used a manners minder to train some of this away - mostly for when my wife and I wanted a bit of time alone. Basically I filled it up with treats and went into my bedroom and shut the door. As I was closing the door (before she could start barking) I released a treat. Then I kept releasing treats as long as she was quiet. I did this for 5 mins, then 10, then longer. Always extending the time between treats and only releasing a treat if she was quiet.
It took several sessions but now she does a lot better being alone in the living room when I'm elsewhere in the apartment.

When I used to show my Keeshonden, I used Chris Christensen White on White (it's useful for all colors, in spite of the name). Although you didn't ask, I also find a good finishing spray is awesome. Again, from my show days, I liked Crown Royale and that concentrate bottle will last years.

It's very hard doing it without water. With water it washes right out after 10-20 seconds from a high pressure showerhead. Works wonders. And yeah, what everyone else said about dog food. Try some fish-based, grain free dog food. We have a friend's German Shepard who is swapping to this in order to make his stool look less like soft serve:

We're actually moving to LA with our keeshond soon too! We bought him a "swamp vest" last summer so we'll probably be using that a lot when we're in california. =]
