This MSI GS65 Stealth1 is one of my favorite super slim , light weighted , high performance laptops with 1000 series graphics card..It definitely will do the job at hand you have, has a solid battery life and of course, you will be fascinated by its design and overall aesthetics.

This Acer Predator Triton 500 has a newer RTX 2060 graphics card which operates similarly to the 1070 in the Stealth above. It has all the features of the MSI of course, but is a newer system and I totally love its overall appearance and aesthetics.

There are two other laptops that are more powerful than these and still within your budget ( they have the RTX 2070 MQ graphics card), but i'm not sure if you'll like their designs. They are very slim and light- weighted as well .

  1. SAGER NP8956

2 ASUS ROG Zephyrus S This is the thinnest of all the laptops I have stated. It also performs very well, but I am not sure you will like its unorthodox keyboard design and of course, if you get it, I would recommend you get a mouse as well.

There are several pros and cons with each of those devices. The Razer Blade 15 tends to be the most expensive and suffers from QC issues, but has the best thermals and the best looking design IMO. The Aero 15 has some issues with throttling and QC, but it is the cheapest one with a 4K OLED screen (which could be pretty useful for you). The MSI GS65 tends to be the cheapest, and it has a slightly poorer battery life than the rest of the pack and has some throttling.

So, I think the Aero 15 is probably a good bet here. If you want OLED, this configuration is available. For a regular 4K dispaly, this configuration is available.

She would love this very much. It has an excellent build quality, decent performance, thanks to a nice i5 processor, 8 GB RAM and fast SSD in addition, it has a very good battery life and display quality. She will like very much it's sleek and slim design and how easy it is to carry around.

you should definitely get this ASUS ZenBook UX330UA because it has great processing
speed, great aluminum built quality, good battery life and a nice IPS display for wide viewing angles which will be great for someone using a laptop for college.

Have a look at the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX531GS-AH76 as it is a good gaming laptop that is also suited for students

Screen Size : 15 inches

Processor : Core i7-8750H

Graphics : Nvidia GTX 1070

RAM : 16 GB

Weight : 4.63 lbs

Storage Type : 512 GB SSD

Its GTX 1070 GPU is powerful and will be able to run AAA games on high and will not become obsolete for the next few years. Its GPU and RAM are very powerful and will be able to multitask efficiently, having lots of tabs, documents, large spreadsheets and intense programs running without lagging.

It is very lightweight which means you won't feel like you are walking with a brick and it won't be a hassle to carry around. Its large SSD is fast, meaning the laptop will boot quickly and programs will be launched fast as well

For 600 you will find no better bang for buck than the Acer Aspire E 15

  • 15.6" Full HD IPS
  • 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U version i7-8550U version,
  • GeForce MX150,
  • 8GB RAM Memory,
  • 256GB SSD

This Acer E15 laptop comes with an 8th gen quad core i5 or i7 processor which is great for CAD and cpu intensive works (i7 versions costs around $100 more). With the MX150 graphics card you will have a much better gaming experience than with a GeForce 940MX. FHD IPS display is also good for its price

Super thin, light, and a gaming beast, if you go with the amazon warehouse deal its $1203.80 right now.

Also people have had a lot of luck with undervolting the cpu and getting better boost clocks out of it at much lower temperatures.

Budget: 700-1200 CDN

Country: Canada

Screen size: any

Screen resolution: any

Touch screen: no

Weight: heavy is no issue at all

Main purpose of laptop: stream world of warcraft outside to get vitamin d

If you will be gaming, what are the most demanding games you will play and at what settings? literally just wow

Is battery life an issue? no it will be plugged in.

Other notes: streaming wow outside, just want a laptop that can do that comfortably and without any issues for a few hours a day. The catch is I'm gonna be outside so I thought maybe I'd need better cooling or something.

I'm in your shoes too and I've been doing a lot of research. I'm pretty close to buying this one:
ASUS ZenBook 13 Ultra-Slim Laptop, 13.3” Full HD, 8th gen Intel i5-8250U Processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB || UX330UA-AH55

This is not a touch screen though

Reasons:
2.6lb
13" Screen
12.7 x 8.7 x 0.5 inches (0.5 inch thickness)
Long battery life (Around 9 hours I think)

Other reasons:
8th gen i5-8250 is pretty much mandatory
1080 display on 13"

I wish there was 1TB instead of 256gb ssd though. But,
I think this is the most portable laptop without an HDD.

I'm looking for the best laptop around $500 that offers durability and productivity and the best I've found is this ASUS VivoBook 15 (AMD 3500U, 8GB ram, Vega 8 GPU). Are there any other laptops that I should look at before pulling the trigger?

The other option that I was looking at was this Acer (i5-8265U, 8GB ram, integrated gpu).

u/jkSam · 3 pointsr/LaptopDeals

/u/The---Technician is the expert here, but I found a couple laptops you might be interested in. Here is an Acer 14 inches and here is an Asus one that is very light and portable but it's $700. You can always get an SD card and have it in the laptop at all times for more storage.

Again, these might not be the best at this price point or they might be. /u/The---Technician knows more than I so maybe he can suggest a better one.

u/opckieran · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

I found this for $550. It has a 15.6 inch screen which is probably a bit bulky to rest in your lap, but it should fit your use case and allow you some decent entry-level performance in games. 3.5lbs (according to the listing).

Do you happen to live near a Microcenter? They have the same one, same price but with a bigger SSD (256GB).

Amazon and Microcenter have the Acer Aspire VX 15 for $999 as well. The MC version has a bigger SSD (512GB).

If you are near a MC you should also check out the Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition VN7-793G-717L. Is only $200 more ($1,199); has a i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD and built in tobli eye tracking.

u/KayVonTrarx · 3 pointsr/LaptopDeals

So it seems like the performance/storage specs are similar on the Gigabyte P55Wr7-KL3 than the Eluktronics P650HP6 for the same price except for the current $150 coupon.

Does anyone happen to know how they match up in heat management and build quality? After having overheating issues with my current laptop's GPU and CPU, these factors and customer service matters a lot to me.

If both of their customer service stories are bad then I might as well get the Acer Aspire VX 15 as even with less performance, the cooling and customer service should be good.

I'm deciding between this or the Asus Vivobook ($709). What is the better buy?

u/naits99 · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

I was considering the
Dell G5 Gaming Laptop 15.6" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DJYHJPJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_aPKXCbTD2ZJ69

Or the

ASUS ZenBook 13 Ultra-Slim Laptop https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JB56QJ7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hOKXCb13TPEJ6

Just wondering what your opinion is. Thanks man

ASUS TUF Gaming FX505GT - 15.6" FHD - i5-9300H - NVIDIA GTX 1650-8GB - 512GB SSD - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0811ZSCLQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hl1ZDbJPRD3R4

I think everything is the same from what I can tell. I'm wondering if the ASUS or MSI build, quality or something else may be better.

u/Atomsq · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

You might also want to give a look at this Asus Vivobook, just install another 8 Gb of ram, it's what I'm currently using and it's very portable, and I run old .Net framework applications with Sql Server and/or Oracle instances without any issues, Tableau desktop also runs without issues.

Battery life is also good, the only potential issue is that the charging cable is relatively short, but that's only an issue depending on where you study/work

If you don’t mind, I’m not too familiar with laptops, I just need something for school and gaming from time to time (WoW, single player steam games). I’m looking at this one and
ASUS FX504 Thin & Light TUF Gaming Laptop, 15.6" Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H Processor, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 8GB DDR4, 256GB M.2 SSD, Gigabit WiFi, Windows 10 - FX504GE-ES72 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DY11M1F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zdtlDbX4WK25C . Do you think it’s worth the extra $100?

u/Nimbyyy · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

I am looking at the same two laptops, both use integrated graphics right? https://www.amazon.com/UX330UA-AH54-13-3-inch-Ultra-Slim-Processor-Fingerprint/dp/B01M18UZF5 Just wondering if theres any reason not to go with the dell inspiron. I'd be buying used where the price difference is only $60 Edit: nevermind I was looking at the 7th gen zenbook

u/PM_ME_DJ_KHALED · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

How would this be as an alternative to this model?

Acer Aspire E 15, 15.6" Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U, GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM Memory, 256GB SSD, E5-576G-81GD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FLJ87G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tOVWAbKZHXT3D

I’ve seen the one I linked for $699 but they aren’t offering that price currently

u/____Some_guy____ · 1 pointr/LaptopDeals

Ok, so I looked through recs and was looking for a laptop designed to handle some abuse, so i think I'm going to go with an ASUS TUF. My old laptop has two sticks of 8 GB RAM that I suspect are fine, so I was thinking of going with this: [ASUS TUF config 1] (https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-TUF505DU-KB71-GTX1660Ti-Windows-Notebook/dp/B07S37JY44) and shoving in another stick of RAM

But was also looking at [ASUS TUF config 2] (https://www.amazon.com/R5-3550H-Processor-Graphics-FX505DT-AH51-Keyboard/dp/B07VBK4SYS) and [ASUS TUF config 3] (https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-IPS-Type-R7-3750H-GeForce-TUF505DU-EB74/dp/B07QQB6DC1)

Any thoughts on the value of going with one of the upgraded models? The most intense thing I'd want to do is run AAA games on min settings. Should I just stick with config 2 for the lower price tag?

Edit: Amazon reviews are pointing to less than 2 hour battery life and constant screen black outs so might still be searching...

Budget: 1000-1500

Country: USA

Screen size: 15

Screen resolution: 1080 or greater with high refresh rate

Touch screen: doesnt matter

Weight: light &thin

https://www.amazon.com/Zephyrus-i7-8750H-GeForce-Military-Grade-Chassis/dp/B07G5Z9H8R/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=gx531gs&qid=1574031641&s=electronics&sr=1-1&th=1

Really leaning towards the asus zephyrus s gx531gs but on camelcamelcamel its gone for as low as 1299, should i wait for the price to drop around black Friday or is this likely going to be the lowest it'll go for a while? any other recommendations? i looked at the msi GS65 but alot of the reveiws complained about thermals.
