I imagine it like this. Except it would print onto post-its instead of shipping labels. Maybe Bluetooth so I can print from my phone as well.

This product costs only $30 and allows you to program these exact features you want. It is completely programmable by time, and can be programmed to dim 10-20% every hour leading into the evening, and then turning on again to a different brightness in the morning. Check it out!

You don't need a PC. The easiest options are a standalone code reader (example), or a bluetooth reader that connects to your phone or tablet (example) paired with an app (e.g. Torque).

Maybe one of these bluetooth remotes would meet your needs?

Media Button

Shower Remote

Might have to figure out the mounting thing, but that seems easily solvable once you have the remote.

They have scales that integrate with cell phone apps to track your progress.

Just buy something like this: Portable Solar Panel with Micro USB Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FZIJFCQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GGWkzb0FFKVHZ

Some models have them available, like this one. You'd have to find one that fits your car.

I've pondered this, but I don't know how it could sense a commercial unless there were some standard code-blip that came at the beginning or end of a commercial break.

This big mute button is the best closest thing I can find for achieving the same goal. The mute button on TV remotes is always tiny and hidden away next to other important buttons you don't want to hit by accident when the sudden-volume-adrenaline hits you. I use the Smash Mute myself and it's the tits.

But I think it would be cool if it softened the butter with a heater. You'd make a fortune selling the butter sticks.
