Normally, I'd recommend building your own, you could start off with something like this. You could then upgrade, expand, and reconfigure as you want.

However, if you're not very handy, don't want all the mess and fuss, and just want something you can pull out of the closet every so often, the something like this is probably what you're looking for.

Beware though, an 8-way stick is not very good on 4-way stick games (Donkey Kong and Pac-man).

Thanks for your input. I did some searching around on Amazon the past few weeks and, though pretty pricey, I hear a ton of good things about these. I'm having a little bit of sticker shock because I would need to buy two of these (two players, obviously) but it keeps coming up in recommendations for people who want a really good arcade stick. I'm just a little uneasy about spending what is essentially 300 dollars on controllers.

This is the mount I used . I mounted the "wall" bracket to the shelf where people keep the CRT/LCD. By giving it some distance, I was able to adjust the tilt of the monitor and the position (I moved it higher when I gave up on the idea of playing with bar stools)

EDIT: here is what the back of the dell monitor should look like when you take off desktop stand.

I've heard that if you link to too many free items on Amazon using your affiliate ID, they take away your commission.

So, here's a link to a free Kindle edition of Charles Dickens' classic "A Tale Of Two Cities", using OP's Affiliate ID.

If you think OP should stop taking other people's hard work and trying to make a buck off it, then I invite you to claim your free eBook, using that link. No Amazon commission, no reason to spam.

Don’t have a cab... but this is how I do my computer.

Power Strip

It has always on ports and a port that controls power for the others. When the computer shuts down the other ones turn off after a min or so. The always on port is my usb power hub and the computer goes into the control port.

I was gonna do this on a cab. The switch turns off the computer and the switch takes care of the rest.

This is all functional practice for the full size cabinet I’ll build when I have the time. Till then fun is still being had.

I have a wireless usb adapter on mine to give it that internet connection, like this one. Makes it very handy to copy files from my laptop to the arcade pc and download updates easily.

Thanks.

Re: dead pixels, I tried it for 2 levels and moved on :) It requires a mouse, and my micro keyboard touchpad works okay, but not enjoyably. I'd be better with a trackball installed.

I just watched this youtube [video] (https://youtu.be/Ck9dfeoKwhs?t=1097) and it doesn't look all that complicated since there is no need to do it perfectly, you can just cut them on the go using something like this also you gonna need a rubber mallet and double check you order the molding with the proper width.

Left them as is. They're just sitting behind the marquee, on some little wooden brackets, and velcroed down so they don't slide around. They're covered by some cheap plastic speaker grills, so you can't tell what they really look like on the inside.

These are what i used, I drilled some 3" holes, speakers sitting behind them, and covered them up with the grills. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DU0E14C/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1521684432&sr=8-2-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=speaker+grill&psc=1
