Actually the UO Smart Beam Laser (https://www.amazon.com/UO-Smart-Beam-Laser-resolution/dp/B014QZ4FLO) which uses Lasers to illuminate LCOS will also be focus free (have “infinite focus”). I can’t really recommend the UO product because they do a poor job of color balancing (generally red deficient), but their resolution is much higher and they are about 1.5X brighter. I have not measured the color on the Sony projectors, but the color was off (too red) on the Celluon Pico Pro which use a Sony optical engine. I saw UO at CES and they will be coming out with new products this year (hopefully they will fix the color).

Note that most projectors that call themselves “laser,” particularly the ones with over 1000 lumens, use a blue laser to illuminate a phosphor wheel with green (and often red and blue phosphors) on it and are NOT focus free. For marketing reasons t they emphasize the word “laser” but are technically “hybrid laser/phosphor” projectors.

For a few applications, like yours, focus free is necessary. Most of the time you set up a project and the screen and there is no need to change the focus. So in today’s market you can get an much brighter and higher resolution LED based projector with better color for less than half the cost of a laser projector; so unless being focus free is absolutely necessary, the vast majority of people will op for the LED projector.

While I'm busy expending my fifteen minutes of fame here in /r/mvis, this is the book that the author referred to: Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future. Elon is a pretty amazing guy, and I think Ashlee did a pretty good job of capturing what makes Elon tick. Highly recommended.

I'm with you about the Moto Projector being improved upon, but go read the reviews for the Moto Z Projector Mod on Amazon. People love it!

MVIS/STM are in a great position to battle DLP tech.

Suggestion for you:

Get something like this

https://www.amazon.com/SmartQ-C307-Portable-MicroSDHC-MicroSDXC/dp/B06ZYXR7DL?ref_=ast_slp_dp

And a good 128 gb microSD card, maybe

 https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MicroSDXC-Adapter-MB-ME128GA-AM/dp/B06XWZWYVP/ref=sxin_2_ac_m_pm?ac_md=2-0-VW5kZXIgJDI1-ac_d_pm&keywords=128gb+micro+sd+card&pd_rd_i=B06XWZWYVP&pd_rd_r=99a5a5f8-06d5-4d0b-8ffe-ad5d29b185db&pd_rd_w=MNlW5&pd_rd_wg=TUWSs&pf_rd_p=7ffdbddd-e073-4cb0-834c-3e54bd44941a&pf_rd_r=ESGHTZT94MW63CHFCRXA&psc=1&qid=1568204234&s=gateway&sprefix=128

Initialize the card in the bit.

Put your vacation pictures on the card every year (or whatever frequency you vacation) and put the card in the bit.

If you don't use it a LOT more, I'd be very surprised.

This made all the difference for me, and utilizes (untethered to your phone and/or camera) the very best of what the 'Bit offers.

Regards,

-Voice

This one looks new to me... and plainly it is impressive (with 200 lumens). Obviously it's a heater judging by all the vents - both top and bottom. They champion how it laser based and focus free. They have put a lot of effort into the info. And they must be doing ads for it since it showed up as an ad while I was web browsing. Obviously NOT embeddable.

Hello,
About accessories, I try 2 hub USB Type-C for charging and use usb remote in same time.:
Aukey hub : https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Delivery-Throughput-MacBook-Chromebook/dp/B072Q1SKZR/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498911025&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=AUKEY+Hub+USB+C+4+Port+USB+3.0
It's doesn't work. No charge and no USB port work.
QacQoc : https://www.amazon.fr/puissance-p%C3%A9riph%C3%A9riques-MacBook-ChromeBook-PixeliMac/dp/B01LXNKE25/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1498910974&sr=8-5&keywords=hub+usb+type+c
Best quality : Charge seem work but not USB Port. If I put remote (logitech mouse or air mouse) and connect to pico after. The mouse work but pico doesn't charge :'(
Anybody try another hub type-C ? It's work for you ?
Thx

Where are you getting the price? I don't see it.

I'm a huge fan of all the IronMan movies, but $399 for a crappy low-res projector? Put it to use (aimed at a wall) and you're stuck looking at the back of its head -- including Celluon logo and a bunch of switches I've never seen on the "real" IronMan.

With MVIS tech, they'll be able to take something like this...

https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Legends-Iron-Electronic-Helmet/dp/B01B4NLOW4/

... and build-in a functional HUD, just like the "real" IronMan. Now that would sell like hotcakes, even at $600.

When you look at what this box is capable of, does it not make sense that interactive projection would be a logical next generation addition?

"Adopt ALDP laser light source of Xming".
ALDP = (Advanced Laser Phosphor Display)

I found this on Amazon:

XMing S1 Laser DLP Projector Video Motorized Focus 3D 2+16G Memory Portable Business Projector.

“Pioneer seems to have figured out a way to manufacture a LBS-based HUD without Microvision’s participation. “

Is Pioneer currently manufacturing an LBS HUD? I see only the DLP HUD

https://www.amazon.co.jp/パイオニア-Pioneer-ND-HUD10-カロッツェリア-HUDユニット/dp/B00FKSJYGS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509918714&sr=8-1&keywords=Pioneer+hud

EDIT: Here’s a thought. It seems Pioneer currently only produces a DLP HUD. could this be why MicroVision considers them a competitor?
