32 year old male here from Southern California. I know what you mean, it's hard to make friends because it seems like everyone is doing their own thing. I've tried craigslist and meetup.com, but it's like a giant mix of sex/hook-ups, weed, creepy stuff, mom stuff, people that live just too far for me, people who enjoy hiking but only do it 5+ miles and during the weekday, you get the idea.

I have many interests like home theater projectors, anything related to PCs, bicycles, fitness (need to get started again, haha), I love any music that can make me dance or chill out. R&B, Rap, House, Rock, Pop, Vaporwave and more. I also love reading about /r/frugal, /r/minimalism and /r/gardening (growing plants/veggies, rototilling, planting sod/grass, etc). :)

Anyways, would love to be friends. We can talk about anything besides politics. Reply or send a PM!

Nice! Working home has a ton of perks, freedoms, and flexibility. I know I'm stoked about it.

As far as a cubing gift, here's my recommendation.

CreativeLine SpeedRipper Cube: Perfect for International Speed Cube Competitions - Buttery Smooth Turning - Solid & Durable, Best 3x3 Puzzle Magic Toy - Turns Quicker Than Original https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071GV3ZJS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5i1uDbGKSTB77.

Sorry for the obnoxious url, it's the best I can do from mobile at the moment. It's a legit speed cube that is within a fair price range that should last a decent amount of time. Dont tell him, just have it sent. :-)

Hmm... What's the last book you read? Who's your favourite author? Feel free to PM me whenever ready, else leave a comment under here.

As for me, I'm currently reading Ethics, by Spinoza and A New History of Western Philosophy, by Kenny. Never been a gamer, but I did spend my masters in Boston, so sort of know the city. It's nice to meet you and I look forward to hearing back soon.

They’re wide brimmed hats. The original one, which I own, is made of 6oz cotton duck - the same as an old fashioned tent. It’s waterproof, sun protective, they tie on, they’re guaranteed for life never to wear out (past life, actually, they encourage you to put it in your will!), and most of all, they’re very classy. The designer says that if you wear one you’re automatically classy, and other wearers will recognise you as a person of good taste. Oh and it floats, and it has a pouch to put an emergency £20 note!

I was given one for my eighteenth birthday, and immediately afterwards I wore it for four months while travelling across Europe on foot. It did not summer sun in England, November thunderstorms in Italy, October in the Swiss mountains and more!

I can’t upload a photo of mine but here’s a link with a photo of me wearing it when travelling: :

Well by definition, unique means one of a kind. Even if you say, something that not a lot of people do, I still wouldn't say I have a hobby like that. I would say that a lot of people do most of the things that I do for entertainment. If nothing else, I guess you could say I like to buy interesting toys on Amazon when I see them such as this, but I know that quite a few other people get them so I can't say it's unique at all.

I bought this book which can help when not knowing what to say or ask: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0375720812
You can find one or two copies on popular filesharing sites.

I think some people see a conversation very objective based, and thus only answer a question posed, rather than to relate back something to continue the conversation. I think that's just what happens on the internet due to there being a lot of autism (maybe).
