I made a separate post about this but it was removed, so I thought I'd comment my post here:

I’ve been unsure of how I felt about the legitimacy of the mandela effect for a while, though I’ve been leaning towards the psychological and memory explanations. However I recently discovered something that seems totally off from what I remember, and I wanted to know if anyone else remembered the same.

I very distinctly remember the President of the US being “Commander-and-Chief”, not “Commander-in-Chief” as everything shows now. My father is an Air Force retiree and when I was younger he really emphasized me learning about the US government, politics, and the military (he believed in being a well-informed citizen). He spent a lot of time discussing the president, and explained to me why he was called “Commander-and-Chief”, which was to emphasize both the importance of his direction and his status as the leader of the people of our country (from what I recall of our discussions). I can even remember a book that showed a diagram of the different branches of government and the words “Commander and Chief” was written in fancy golden letters near the top.

Any time since then, I very much remember seeing “Commander-and-Chief” instead of “Commander-in-Chief”. “In” would have definitely stood out to me, as I always liked the title of “Commander-and-Chief” as it gave the office a certain feeling of reverence. The new term also doesn’t entirely make sense to me, so again, I would’ve had questions if I was reading “Commander-in-Chief”.

When I called and asked my dad a few days ago, sure enough he remembered “and” instead of “in”. I even asked him to spell it over the phone to make sure it wasn’t just audio distortion, but sure enough he remembers “and”. He got very upset when I told him it was “in”, thought I was messing with him, and didn’t want to talk about it anymore before we ended the call.

I also talked to a few coworkers, and most remembered “in” but 3 others (out of the ~8 people I chatted with) also remembered “and”, though no one there was as confident in their memories as my dad and I are.

So anyway, does anyone else share this experience? I want to see if it’s more than just my dad and I.

Post was removed, so I wanted to include some residue to bolster the potential of this post

Just to clarify, I am aware that this term is not exclusive to the US president, just the context in which I learned of it.

Your synchronicity sucks. And if you've NEVER before experienced them, then, you, my friend, are NOT an Avatar. NPC.

Here's one of my best synchronicities:

  1. November 2001: Went to a Borders bookstore and was randomly browsing.
  2. My eye was drawn to a book with a floating spoon entitled "The Conscious Universe". It reminded me of the spoon in The Matrix, my favorite movie at the time, so I bought it.
  3. I went home and about 45 minutes later, I was reading that very book while listening to the Jeff Rense nightly live podcast.
  4. I simultaneously read the words "random number generator" right as the guest said the words, "Random number generator".
  5. I exclaimed "OH MY GOD! WHAT A SYNCHRONICITY!"
  6. I then heard the host say, "OK Doctor Radin." I looked at the book I was holding and the author was "Dr. Dean Radin"!!
  7. The book he was discussing was "The Conscious Universe"!

That's so many levels deep AND the book and the new perspective changed my entire life trajectory immediately and directly iinfluenced the world changer I am today!

It wasn't a new book, either! It was published in 1997.

The years was 2003 and I was 21 yrs old. I believe October. I used to listen to the Jeff Rense podcast on and off, about 2x a week.

I went to the local Borders bookstore I used to frequent (never liked B&N, too corporate) because of its GREAT metaphysical section (something BN to this day is very poorly stocked).

I saw this book with a spoon hovering and I thought to myself, "That gives me the vibe of The Matrix spoon." and the title was neat: "The Conscious Universe."

So, I grabbed it, and it alone, and went home. The time was 6:45 PM MST +/- 5 minutes.

10 minutes later, I got back home and I started reading the book while waiting for the Jeff Rense Show to come on that night. I didn't know who would be on, but it was usually pretty good.

When the program started, however, I was so engrossed in this book about research into how people are consciously affecting computers that I was barely paying attention to the radio show.

BUT THEN! I remember so vividly. I was sitting on my chair reading the words

Random Number Generator

at the exact same time that the guest on the radio said the words

Random Number Generator

and I JUMPED UP INTO THE AIR and shouted, SYNCHRONICITY!!!!

I then realized that the guest on the show was the EXACT SAME as the AUTHOR of the book I had bought 20 minutes before! DOUBLE synchronicity!

In fact, he was at that moment reading the intro to the book, on the air, at the exact same place I was currently at. TRIPLE SYNCHRONICITY!!

Anyway, the research is very very very related to Quantum Sliding and Our reality as a simulation and all sorts of stuff...

Go get it! Dr. Dean Radin's - The Conscious Universe!

You my friend, may be just the right person for the job in tracking down the history of a distribution company that I can find no information on, at least as to how they came into the possession of the films they distributed to Video Stores:

NEW CONCORDE family entertainment

I just this morning finally identified the company logo after finally finding it on YouTube for a trailer of [Alone in the woods] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEWecZRy1T8)

This is a potentially good lead because I had remembered this logo as being associated with some of the few movies I ever ordered for the store in a discount "twin pack" with other movies of which the Sinbad movie was one.

The only movies I for sure remember ordering in packages like that were [Invisible Mom] (https://www.amazon.com/Invisible-Mom-Dee-Wallace-Stone/dp/6305912513/ref=pd_sim_74_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=6305912513&pd_rd_r=K3XSYZFNSQ7KF0YX9VVW&pd_rd_w=L1Sl8&pd_rd_wg=YidKR&psc=1&refRID=K3XSYZFNSQ7KF0YX9VVW) - seen here on Amazon with the logo that I could never make out before today and has other movies with the same logo on the bottom of the screen (but was released in 1996 which is later than where I am looking)...and ["Meet the Applegates"] (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100129/) which we received in a bargain package around 1993 which better fits the timeframe but was released officially by "New World Studios" theatrically.

The other movies with the "New Concorde family entertainment" logo that I have found are:

  • No dessert 'Til you mow the lawn

  • The Crazysitter

  • Alone in the woods

  • The kid with x-ray eyes

  • and of course Invisible Mom

As far as I can tell so far Roger Corman started the "New Concorde" label but I can't find any reference to the "family entertainment" movies related to it at all (just got started a few hours ago).

These are exactly the kind of low budget childrens' movies though that fit the profile of the missing Sinbad movie.

I've already contacted W.C. Martell who was the screenwriter of "Invisible Mom" and he confirmed that he wrote it in June of 1995 and it was released in1996.

The interesting thing about the movies with the Concorde rainbow logo on them so far is that other than finding a picture of the box cover and the YouTube video of "Alone in the woods" that I found there doesn't seem to be any other reference to the company distributing them in print...

The only thing I can think of now is to contact Roger Corman who is 91 years old and probably has bigger things to think about than a missing genie movie - but I'm going to give it a shot if I can't find out more about these other movies being in his distribution chain or not.

Maybe you know something that can help?

Edit: I know that officially the New Concorde label was started in 2000 - but all the movies I listed above came out in the early to mid 90's and the big interest of mine is "what do they all have in common and how were they acquired?" Makes me wonder if a large cache changed hands and rights as part of a deal and the less worthy Titles were shelved rather than be re-marketed/released.

This one could be a book you might have read in school. It's designed for kids and is written like a children's scrapbook full of letters from soldiers and notes about the war.

Here are a couple others that could also fit with what you remember...

Best of luck finding this! It sounds like an interesting book!

Part of my problem with ME's like this is the people's proof is never really proof. It's just 'my memories vs. your memories' and 'look at what [insert website] said or didn't say'. Show me a video of Ricky Ricardo saying the line and I'll eat my words. Not trying to be a dick or anything but nothing you said is truly proof, my man. Memories are the absolute furthest thing from it, no matter how many people might want to agree. Human memory is not infallible.

The company can also take advantage of that line whether it was said or not. Just like Trek can print shirts with "Beam me up Scotty" if they wanted to, even though the line was never said.

Who exactly is going to be able to step in and say "Hey, nobody ever said this on the show so you can't sell something with that printed on it."? That doesn't make any sense. Whatever company that owns I Love Lucy probably also owns the character Ricky Ricardo. They could print him on a lunchbox saying "Hoot hoot ramma lamma ding dong", if they wanted to.

Couldn't comment on the rest of your post.

Putting in bold for visibility:

Also funny is that Amy Grant, who Faith meets at Chic Fil A, has narrated a story called "The Lion and the Lamb".

You may be right but it would be pretty bizarre for this one particular name to be subject to the same specific misspelling on such a mass scale. The first part of the name "Beren" is a more uncommon sound than "stain"; wouldn't you expect a misspelling like "BERNstain" to be more prevalent than "Berenstein". Also, when people find out they've been misspelling a word they generally don't react with the level of shock and discomfort that Berenstain has caused. Couple this with the fact that it's a book series that kids have used in learning how to spell - sounding out every syllable.
Also check out an old amazon review of a book by none other than Stan Berenst?in:

"A marvelous help for anybody who has ever encountered the resistance of a blank page, an empty canvas or an unyielding musical scale."

- Stan Berenstein, co-creator of The Berenstein Bears##

I'm British so I don't have a dog in this fight either way.
Every theory I've seen about what is actually causing the Mandela effect (parallel universes, time editing, simulation etc..) has some problems or is contradicted by some aspect of the ME phenomena. I don't think anybody currently has enough information to reliably say what is going on.
Anyway, I don't want to derail the conversation from your hashing proposal. I think it's a truly inspired idea and I'm downloading Wikipedia as I type...

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/MandelaEffect

You're welcome.

While I'm 99%+ convinced the lyric I hear today is not the same as the lyric I heard back in 1979 (and ever since - this song has never fallen into obscurity) - it seems that it's not just a few stragglers, but The Village People, themselves, their agents, their record label remember "We want you" - they even have an album of that name:

https://www.amazon.com/We-Want-You-Very-Best/dp/B0000087PN/ref=ntt_mus_dp_dpt_15

Possibly the ME just stole the "They" from "Build it and They he will come", and transplanted it into the "In The Navy" lyrics, while some other line from a movie or song is now missing that "he" that's in The Field of Dreams script and the "we" from "In The Navy" is just currently missing in action but will likely turn up when the Queen song becomes Wee-we are The Champions. Or something like that.

Striking new mandela effect with the name "Gottlieb". Some people have had their name changed to "Gottlob".

I found this striking example, a list of people named Gottlieb. Sure enough one of the individuals listed is now known as "Gottlob":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gottlieb_(name)

  • Gottlob Heinrich Curt von Tottleben, German-born Russian general

A search online provides residue of others spelling his name as Gottlieb.

Philosopher "Gottlob Frege" is described as "Gottlieb" in this book description.

    https://www.amazon.ca/Frege-Introduction-Founder-Analytic-Philosophy/dp/0631222316

This name change effect provides some interesting examples of classical music mandela effects. Lesser-known classical composers Christian Gottlob Neefe and Daniel Gottlob Türk also had their names updated from Gottlieb. Turk is a composer of piano pieces that have been performed by many beginner pianists. I found tons of residue including books and recordings spelling Turk's name as "Gottlieb". Gottlob is unrecognizable and foreign spelling to me. There are many examples of his spelling "Gottlieb" Turk showing up on Amazon as well, exactly how I remember his name. Gottlieb Turk is also easy to find on YouTube with many recording his music and spelling his name this way.

Hm. That is weird. Yeah if you ever find it again please post a reply as I'd like to see it.

My only thought about the "orange" color, is that sometimes Jif changes their logo colors for 2 packs or special flavors like "honey" or "roasted" or "low fat"

(BTW, the color scheme in the center picture matches my memory from the 'flip' period that I saw RUBIX in the box - does this match your memory? Also, what is your memory of the colors of the word RUBIX? I am fairly certain of the first letter being a different color than what is popularly available)

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21852683-how-to-solve-a-rubix-cube

As an added bonus I came across this comment on the RuWix website where they stated that it was invented in 1974 (also interesting that they didn't op for Ruwik or Ruwiki..):

"
Shelley Kinsey Adams
My dad died in 1973 but I swear I gave him one of these between 1968 and 1973, can I be that nuts?"

There were a few other interesting things, such as links that had Rubix written in the link, but when you click on them the domain had been changed to a Rubik address. I didn't include these since they're also explained by typos being corrected, however, for those of us that have the memories...

It's "the" in both the movie and book title. I'm sure Anne Rice intended for it to be "the" but since it's pretty much interchangeable with "a" in this context, people aren't really going to challenge it.

u/dirtranger · 0 pointsr/MandelaEffect

It's real because reality is multi-dimensional and you are constantly shifting between infinite parallel variations. Sages throughout the ages and shamans today can see other realms that overlay ours. Positive thinking is built on this construct. It's only new that we have the Internet to compare notes on similar "misrememberings"

I would add I have real MEs and that I also think timelines are splitting in an accelerated manner that we are noticing. I also had an NDE. I also would not discount a demiurge/illusion master, global lab experiment operated by future humans, digital reality, Dark City scenario, or a psy op. I am open to all explanations.

I am a Floridan. I have zero fucking clue tbh about it being flat or not. I remember looking up there and going along the river where it kind of splits the state.

But as for people believing it was flat, we usually will make puzzles and such flatter so it's easier to fit things in for kids.

IE: https://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Floor-Puzzle-feet/dp/B000GKAU1I obviously the states are a bit wonky

It's just easier to remember it as flat rather than this weird line. If you asked me to draw Texas, I'd draw a triangle with a rectangle on top even tho that's not how it actually is. When I draw Florida, I kinda even out the curves.

u/BeckPark · 1 pointr/MandelaEffect

On the misspell. Yes I picked but I could find no way to edit in here. Was really in a state of shock on finding picture instead of portrait.
I was doing a post on a completely different thing...... Fav old movies when I came across it.
SunsetGrr posted a link to the Amazon book
http://www.amazon.com/Portrait-Dorian-Gray-Picture-Readers/dp/1450541712
You will see in the title on the side it has both picture and portrait.
The picture of the book has only portrait. And in the description of it has portrait.
I know UK, Ireland well. Not even today would you call a painting a picture. Try googling it. A painting is always a panting. It might be a panting of a landscape, an interior etc.
A painting of someone is always referred as a portrait. Whether that be a panting or a professional photograph portrait. Thought the latter in more modern times often will be referred to others as a picture.
Just as an example in the Victorian era when Dorian Gray was written a photograph was referred to as a Portriat. Here is one example https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-mortem_photography
Which mentions portraiture of a photograph and a painted portrait.
I also went to art school and do paint portraits. When I tell people I paint they will often ask what I do, portraits, still life's or landscape.

I actually have the book and think it changed the name - like interview with a vampire - I even asked one of the moderators of a local horror club about the vampire thing (for this one I am sure too it changed, because I bought some anthologies that had this book title as recommended other books by the same publishers on some of the back pages).
