Sorry to respond so late when this post is two weeks old, but I just found this sub.

The most versatile bag for me is definitely my Osprey Daylite. It's my everyday bag for work since it's small and light and easily holds my Macbook Pro, my headphones, and my 32 oz Nalgene bottle and has enough room for jacket + overnight stuff if necessary.

Yet it's got a great water bladder pocket (outside accessible so it's not in with all your other stuff) and holds the largest Camelbak reservoir. So, with its chest and waist straps it's also my hiking bag (been up 14-ers with the thing).

Because of the chest and waist straps, and the side compression straps that help it cinch down very small and hug your body, it's also my bag for biking (water bladder comes in handy here too) and motorcycling.

Also, I finally got a "real" travel bag (Tortuga Setout Divide) and I found that the Daylite easily packs flat within it, so now it's joining me on my trips as well.

I've added a few accessories to make it work better. 1. a water bladder hose magnet for the strap (not sure what brand, got it at REI, works great), 2. double-sided velcro strips to roll away the waist straps that aren't in-use most of the time. 3. just recently I got a Clipa bag holder so it hangs from my desk at work instead of being on the floor. For a while I was looking for a new small daily bag that would stand upright so I wouldn't have to just lay it on the ground at work, but now with the Clipa I love the Daylite even more.

I am a senior software developer and on call pretty much always (1st line half the day, 2nd line half the day, it's OK, emergencies are very rare, months pass between two). Before this bag, as recently as a year ago, I needed to carry a laptop backpack with my regular 14" inside everywhere. But now, I can just take this baby. Also? Since it's only 9" high I can stand it up under a plane seat, lengthwise, so it is taking practically no space. A laptop backpack will steal invaluable space where your legs would go.

eReader/tablet/monitor: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/not-ereader-first-e-ink-mobile-phone-monitor/x/5633299#/ yeah it has its quirks but it works. Hot damn. I keep an eReader anyways to read, the previous one was an only slightly smaller Aura One and if I could get one that doubles as an emergency monitor, that's a big win in my books.

Waterbottle: https://www.rubbermaid.com/en-US/design-series-bottles yeah, nothing special.

Lächen Mini Irrigator: Google for aliexpress 33018370414, won't link it because of spam filters. Not only it is the smallest portable oral irrigator (waterpik) but it stores the nozzle inside.

Nuts holder: I am reasonably sure it's https://www.uline.ca/Product/Detail/S-18215/Tubes/Clear-Retail-Tubes-1-1-2-x-6 and I just found it https://www.dancopackagingproducts.com/our_products/prod_161.html for smaller quantities. I'll actually get a spare or five :)

Micro-Mini HDMI cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NC2X1DM/ it's hard to find a cable of this kind this tiny.

Stand: https://www.niteize.com/product/QuikStand.asp it does hold the tablet up, barely so, but it does.

DM-1 wallet: https://decadentminimalist.com/ you can't find a smaller, lighterweight card wallet.

Phone to taste. The bag can hold any monster of a phone.

When flying I also add: Glocalme U2 https://www.glocalme.com/CA/en-US/cloudsim/u2 international mifi with pretty decent rates but also the possibility to just slot a local SIM. Did you know giffgaff UK sends a SIM anywhere for free and allows using their packages EU wide with really nice rates? It's literally half the price of a T-Mobile USA International Pass.

Dual USB Output Super Slim Power Bank Ultra Thin, Attom Tech 3000mAh https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07JZCZSH9 it's enough to give a phone or the mifi a little bit of extra time.. It's ridiculous from something this tiny but it actually can (slow) charge both at the same time.

There are some small extras in the last photo:

Olight UC Magnetic USB Charger https://olightworld.com/olight-uc-magnetic-usb-charger to charge the AA battery in the washlet. Again, it's neigh impossible to find a smaller battery charger.

Mu One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N1PK1RP/ impossibly thin 45W USB C charger.

Elecom WRH-583BK2-S travel router. https://www.ebay.com/itm//183769814553 dual RJ45, dual band, micro USB powered.

I have been looking into an insulated cooler for a bit now, I am about to road trip across the country and want something I can stick on the floor behind the drivers seat, as well as something that is easy to bring to a kickball game or out on the boat.

I have been looking at thisao 24 can cooler it has some good reviews, got a recommendation from the Wirecutter, there are a number of options for similar ones

In a different vain I got this backpack cooler for my folks for Christmas, I don't think it has the best insulation but they cruise on there boat and I got it as a way to keep groceries cool so they did not have to head to the boat right away

I have also been looking at ice mule that /u/jiggen mentioned seems like a cool option

Grabbed one of these Optech pouches to try. I think this will be great for solo protection in larger bags, and hanging on a strap. I may still try and grab another small sling style bag. Because r/ManyBaggers :)))

Thanks again for your rec 👌🏻

Looking to buy a relatively lightweight, but well-constructed gym duffel. Around $100.

It'll need to be large enough able to fit a pair of shoes (preferably in its own shoe compartment), some clothes, a few microplates, a chin-up belt, and a neutral handle grip for rowing. But no ideally no larger than necessary.

I'm thinking something in the vein of some of the popular Nike or Adidas duffels, but better quality.

PureSteam Portable Fabric Steamer... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ORC2Z2S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This is the one I have. It’s fantastic. Fits in a small packing cube (get one that’s water tight).

It’s an indulgence but for work travel who cares.

I use it in lieu of an iron whenever I travel and it works incredibly well.

One note ; for international travel you need a dual voltage one that is bigger and more expensive.

Oh man, sorry, I forgot about this post!!! I've been using this insert https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B072V71SY6/ and I just move it from bag to bag. Sorry, I don't know about the sizes of the packs you listed, but the insert is 11x17. Hope that helps!!!

Thank you! The pouch is from Lihit Lab, their Compact Pen Case. You can find it on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BD0GPKE). I have a few different pouches / cases from Lihit Lab, great quality for a reasonable price.

Have you considered something like a Vapur? Easier to fit in a fanny/sling. Either that or go down to a 750ML Nalgene. The 1L ones are so fat and difficult to fit.

I use webbing dominators on my gear to keep straps under control.

They’re so cheap and easy to install that I don’t even really think about strap management when looking at a new piece of kit, knowing it’s something I can easily fix myself.

Since I don't feel like doing work today I've been browsing around on Amazon and found this.

It's kind of an interesting design. Has an open top but insulated sides. It also has some pockets, shelves and dividers though I can't decide if these would be useful or just get in the way. It's also machine washable.

Thule Subterra Powershuttle Mini, Dark Shadow, Small https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H5QPDH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5ESzCbFAPQQ4V

I think it’s the best budget pouch. Comes in three sizes too

I really like the power Packer by Side by Side.

Slightly above your budget but it does fit alot of things.

I just got this one off Amazon. I am using it with my CPL24. Holds a lot and stays pretty slim. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017SKRWL4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_pC7PDbGX7P3HR
