This is the best option I can think of. I have it and I must say the d-pad on it is quite nice. It only works in handheld mode though.

Edit: Wanted to add that there is a Mario and Pikachu variant of it alongside the Zelda variant.

Edit 2: What Pro Controller do you have? Do you have Nintendo's official wireless Pro Controller or do you have one of the officially licensed Pro Controllers made by companies like HORI, PowerA and PDP?

I really should test this as I have all the components to hand (and will do later if need to, but) this could work?

It would just mean having that dongle attached to the bottom of the switch, but if it was up on a stand and you were using a controller to play and stylus/controller to edit, then that's a possibility.

When a HDMI is plugged into the bottom but not the dock, does it still act like the doc and turn the screen off? If so, you'll be buggered regardless.

Yeah, understandable. There is a Pro Controller that might feel more comfortable:

This is the best (dot matrix!)

Here's the one I got.

I prefer the mesh tip to the plastic tip, or the rubber tips you'll see on most of the capacitive styluses. It's basically a micro-fiber cloth so it slides really well and you clean your screen as you work!

Some have actual fine tips.

The clear disc mimics the surface area of a finger to connect with the screen - but without blocking your view. The metal center conducts a precise signal to the screen.

This one doesn't have a disc.

I posted this below but I figure more people will actually see it if I reply here.

I got this to play The World Ends With You on Switch in handheld mode (which exclusively uses touchscreen controls) and I had absolutely no problems with it. It's relatively cheap and has a lot of positive reviews; I've also personally had a good experience with it so far.

Screen/surface wipes like this.

If you want a controller that feels like the SNES controller but want full functionality, I suggest 8bitdo

So this Adonit Mini 4 will work with the Switch and SMM2?

That's when you get one of these.
