Before we got engaged, my wife had me read Love and Responsibility, which is more the academic/philosophical/theological underpinnings of the TOB. I highly recommend it, though it's fairly dense.
So we use this one. 20 strips last us 3-4 months so around $8-10 per month. Granted we use that in addition to checking her mucus just as a way to double check ourselves so we don't rely solely on that.
