Welcome to the club! I just started about a year ago, with Spider-Gwen and Scarlet Witch, but got super into it when the Venom wave came out. Focusing mostly on X-Men, Spiderverse, and core MCU stuff. So in case it was in question, these last couple of weeks have been pretty damn amazing for me, and many others.

As far as display ideas, one of the most affordable and widely used display shelves for figures is IKEA's Detolf display cabinet for $60.

I came pretty close to getting it myself, but the only thing that stopped me was the fact that I'd want to display my figures along a longer lineup rather than the more compact squared space provided by the Detolf. Instead, I went with a traditional Billy/Morliden Bookcase, which goes for $140. But you can get it as just a Billy bookshelf without doors for much cheaper, $70.

I just went with the doors option because I only planned on having figures on the top 3 shelves, and wanted to store random books or boxes of incomplete bafs/other unused figures

The last thing I'm looking into is shelf lighting. I want my figures to really stand out, and light kits go for about $25-$30 online. Considering something like this, though a small handful of reviews don't think this specific set is bright enough.

A final tip before I go; in addition to ebay, sites like Mercari, Letgo, OfferUp, and even Craigslist have occasionally helped me get figures for cheap.

I had bought the Neca stands for my Star Wars Black Series figures, originally, but they work OK with some Marvel Legends, but not all, since the peg holes on the MLs can be very shallow (and basically useless).

I got the Obitsu stands mainly because their round bases match the Neca stands, but also because they have a cleaner look than the Bandai Stage Act 4 stands.

The Obitsu stands do take a bit of work to get the balance right, though, and they tend to wobble a bit, but eventually they settle down. Heavier figure like the Thor have a harder time of getting the balance right.

They are pretty flexible when it comes to their configurations, though. The Star Lord and Captain Marvel figures are using the same stand, and are connected by a clip-on piece. I had run out of the flat base pieces, which is why I have them like that. The balance isn't super stable, and I had to use an extra piece to keep it from tipping over, but it seems to work.

the molitov markers are pretty good for that.

whatever paint you use just make sure it's acrylic.

if the hand is really stuck you just need more heat and to slowly work it out, but don't do too much too fast at once because you don't want to melt or modify the part.

boiling water for 5-10 seconds at a time until you start to feel that it's getting a little rubbery. it takes time and patience. you have to slowly "work it" out. you can also try a hair dryer or a heat gun (be careful with a heat gun, it will def melt plastic fast, so temper it.) . if possible maybe try somehow to concentrate the heat on the wrist joint but not so much the hand. if you can get that joint to expand it might come out easier. if the part gets too rubbery from too much heat and starts to stretch and you try to pull it out just stop and let it cool off.

Get the Amazon 3-pack, that will give you the best versions of Magneto and Quicksilver. If you don't want Scarlet Witch, she's easy to sell.

Hasbro hasn't made Longshot or Pyro yet, so if you really want them in your collection, you're going to have to settle for the ToyBiz versions. The ToyBiz Pyro is alright, but the Longshot has not aged well at all.

For Banshee, the Annihilus wave is your only option, though that figure has not aged well either. Hopefully they remake him in his 90s blue and yellow outfit with a better figure.

It is the same but note that Marvel legends is not true 1/12 scale. It’s slightly larger scale. There are online sellers such as Marauder Gunrunners that make some 1/12 weapons which look great on female ML figures but a little too small for male figures. I would say check your local dollar store for military action figures. There are these GI Joe type figures that are sold all over the place that come with oddly large weapons that scale perfectly with ML. I’ve seen them at target and on amazon.

1. It’s going to be hard to match skin tones. You’ll just have to experiment. Maybe watch some videos on glazing and wet blending. Just a couple techniques that might help get two close colors to transition a bit more seamlessly.
   
   
2. Number of layers depends on how thin the paints are and which colors you’re painting over. When starting, it’s always best to take it slow. If the paint looks good enough to cover in one layer, it’s most likely not thinned enough. Don’t rush it. Let the paint dry thoroughly before applying an additional coat.

   Depends if you want a glossier or dull finish, but something like this should be fine. Read reviews & directions. Shake well. Ventilate. Start spraying away from figure, then sweep over figure. Light coats and let dry THOROUGHLY before thinking about another layer. Mess this part up and it’s hard to go back.

This is the exact one I got. Very strong stick, zero problems. You’ll need to get one with the adaptor and one without. No problem man happy to help!

Figure stands for 6 inch scale figures. I used to get them off ebay until I got some knockoffs. These new models come with a three prong claw which is super nice for bigger figures like Thor or Dr. Octopus.

Before the official hasbro one, people would use the waldows from this Chinese Iron Spider. The actual figure had bad articulation, but the waldos were pretty much perfect. They would drill holes into the back of the Legends version, and port in the waldos from the Chinese one.

The release of the Spider-verse movie at the end of 2018 increased the interest/demand for Spider-Verse toys. The main toys that came out for it were not legends figures, just a cheaper toy which used to retail at $10-$12 for most of them, now the Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales versions of those toys are in the $30-$50 range. Basically anything Spider-Verse now has demand and is going up price wise so it's more then likely they will introduce new figures in the future.
