Hey all! It's kinda crazy... but the book is live and available on Amazon. You can get it here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1546625984

To be honest, I'm still working out how to do promotions. But the book will be worth it and I hope you'll pick yourself up a copy. I may do a separate post, but let's see if this helps.

Sure! i believe i got this in the dark brown colour. Black looks a bit stuffy but he also told me people in ortho are more 'traditional', so i figured dark brown is still safe enough. I like this bag because it has many compartments for pens and stuff.

You'd be surprised how much you pick up in general conversation. During my fiance's anesthesiology rotation, I could even tell you the proper dosages of Fentanyl and Midazolam to knock out someone my size. He's doing a nuclear medicine rotation in his radiology residency now and there's a lot I can tell you about half-lifes.

Do you have any old anatomy textbooks from high school or college? Even just knowing where things are in the body will help. I also just found this on Amazon, and there are a couple of other books in the same vein as well.

The first holiday my wife was in school, I got her this book on choosing a medical specialty. The year she graduated, I got her a collection of papers that were specific to the specialty she matched into (her idea, not mine haha). When she started rotations, I got her an iPad--they weren't necessary for her rotations, but she got a lot out of it.
