No problem

It's a very good account. If I remember correctly he spent most of his time in NI (with the SBS and 14 Intelligence) and didn't get to the Falklands, but still recalls what his friends told him about the conflict. He talks in great detail about the selection and training SBS men go through also.

I'm pretty sure this is the cover of a LRRP book I read a long time ago. Some amazing stories in there.

Found it!

The image is reversed though.

Hey, I actually helped at a hunt with Marks brother, Thad. Super great family and there's a book about him that his brother wrote.

The Only Thing Worth Dying For is a book that tells the story of this ODA and their involvement with Hamid Karzai and I highly recommend giving it a read. One of my favorite books that I have ever read

Give "Inside Delta Force" a read! A fairly significant portion of the book covers selection. Mainly consists of pointing to a map, "Where are you? Where are you supposed to go? Get after it, Have a good'n."

Pretty fascinating stuff, and it's a very quick read. I finished it in an afternoon, couldn't put it down.

You might want to read This

Book as well though you had better be ready for a dark read, it is honestly the most depressing war fiction book I have read but it was a really great read.

There's a great book that covers the development of the Osprey, and how much of a fight it was to keep the project alive. Very good read that discuses a lot of the failures and successes of it.

For a cheaper but likewise more modern version of the concept, there were devices in the book Freedom^TM called "Angel's Teeth" which were essentially slightly larger flechette's with embedded sensors and small servo driven control surfaces to lock on to man-sized heat signatures and home in on them. They could be launched a dozen at a time in an artillary round.

Good read, I recommend it. Start with the book before it, of course.

That looks interesting, I'd love to find a copy.

I have also read a couple of accounts written by AC-130A crew members from the Vietnam War which were really interesting too: Spectre Gunner: The AC-130 Gunship by David M. Burns and Callsign Spectre by Jeff Noecker.

Both give some interesting insights into their operations.

His book, Battleground Pacific is probably my favorite book I've read. Highly recommended if you haven't read it. I read that directly after finishing Sledge's book and I think that made it even better.

I'm sure most of y'all know already, but if you don't...Howard Wasdin's book is pretty solid. All about his experience in Somalia.

If anyone's interested in reading about the LRRPs, Robert Ankony's book LURPS is a great read.

I'm not going to name names, but my mates dad is in the album you linked, along with his brother.

EDIT: It's Tony Ey, he has a couple of books and they are great reads about his tours in Vietnam with CDT3 and RAN Clearance Divers.

I highly HIGHLY recommend the book "Hitler and Stalin: Parallel Lives" by Alan Bullock if you're interested in Stalin's life. The book is essentially a double biography of both Hitler and Stalin from life until death, and goes into great length about the period during the opening days of Barbarossa and their relationship leading up to it.

I believe this is mostly a misconception. Despite how the government tries, North Koreans are more aware than you might think. There’s a fantastic book about life in NK that I highly recommend:
