Well you’re still a relatively young person, I’d imagine (don’t quote me on this) that the reason it cause “wrinkles and aging skin” would be due to the fact that it causes dryness within the area the area of application because of the Propylene Glycol in Minoxidil. This usually leads to a person not being able maintain an adequately moisturized face while you have minoxidil on your face. I can imagine that without the proper amount of natural oils (sebum), it could lead to skin aging and wrinkles. Though IF that’s the case (because I am no professional), you may want to use the foam version so you don’t experience the dryness, though you will still have to wait to take off the minoxidil before you moisturize, your skin will not become nearly as dry WHILE you have it on. Over the long term this could make a difference. Hopefully this will help you gauge which direction you what to proceed with. Aside from this, if you can afford the Foam Minoxidil from Kirkland or Rogaine for the duration of your intended use then all that is left is to weigh your pros and cons and decide if it’s worth the potential trade offs.

If you’re very concerned with the health of your skin I’d advise you to look into purchasing a Biotin 1000mcg supplement (Do not take higher than this. This is slightly more than 3 times the Daily Recommended Value of a person with metabolism of 2000 Calories; longterm use of really high contents of biotin could lead to catastrophic nerve issues, the one I provided is usually the lowest you will find but is more than enough). Also look into essential oils preferably with low comedogenic ratings or other moisturizers for your skin. As well as
Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptide Supplements. Though supplements are great, they are exactly as the name implies, they supplement. Having a healthy balanced diet, along with daily aerobic exercise is your best aid in having healthy skin.

Hopefully this helps!

If you have the $ for foam I’d definitely invest. They have a 3 month supply at my local Walmart for $29, but it’s taken me 2 months to finish the first bottle applying it liberally and I’ve had zero issues with flaky skin. As far as the vitamin C serum, I’ve found Amazon is the best way to go— this is the serum I’ve been using because it’s cheap and has great reviews and ingredients: Vitamin C Serum for Face - Anti Aging Facial Serum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S2G786S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_sc2QDb8DCCB72

But there are plenty of different options to choose from, just do a bit of research!

Get this Minox: https://minoxbeard.com/

Put 1.5g of this in the bottle of Minox: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XD03VGE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Apply that to your face for 1-2 months and check back in. I will almost guarantee you will see some results. Be safe and good luck. I have had great results since May 26 with 12.5% and some other stuff in my routine. (PEO)

Oh, yeah if there's reports of it falling out after 6 months it's not even worth it.

Have you thought about growing it super long? I'm sure at that point it would just fill in nicely. Those guys in the beard contests are always using beard oils and other treatments to make it nice and soft.

Also, check out the reviews on this stuff, you might just need some multivitamins: Lumberman Premier Beard

And search Keratin or Hair Straightener Chemical on Amazon.

some people add pure L-Carnitine L-Tartrate powder to their minoxidil and nivea soft, as it's been shown to be beneficial to hair growth when used topically... so, it's assumed this is true for beard growth as well. it's alcohol soluble, so that's a requirement for adding it to something.

https://www.beardwiki.com/minoxidil-faq#l-carnitine-l-tartrate-lclt

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onUaJyTNiCE

I've done this as well, because it was $10 for 100grams and you only need to add about 1/4th of a teaspoon. just remember it has to be pure LCLT powder. no capsules. I'm on my third week of minoxidil and don't have any non-LCLT minoxidil experience to contrast it to, so I can't speak from personal experience on this way.

some people also add peppermint oil to their beard oil, as its been shown to aid in hair growth:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4289931/

just make sure you get Mentha Piperita (peppermint's scientific name) and not spearmint or some shit.
I make my own beard oil with half castor oil, half jojoba oil, and you wanna aim for about 5% peppermint oil.

hope this helps.

I think one of your best bets would be to experiment with other facial cleansers to see if that helps. Here's what I use: Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin

u/Tyko_3 · 1 pointr/Minoxbeards

You convinced me of getting the foam. I purchased this, the price seemed very reasonable considering a single month of the liquid cost me $20 after tax. I hear good things about kirkland, does this seem like a good deal to you?

u/soccerperson · 1 pointr/Minoxbeards

This stuff?

https://www.amazon.com/CeraVe-Moisturizing-Lotion-Hyaluronic-Ceramides/dp/B000YJ2SLG?th=1

I've read it's good to use a moisturizer with vitaminc c and hyaluronic acid. Looks like this lotion has hyaluronic acid. Do you have any experience with using vitamin c? Supposedly it's for anti-aging/wrinkles

u/dm222 · 1 pointr/Minoxbeards

Do you think this would work? (Not sure if the hyperlink will work so my apologies if it doesn’t)

https://www.amazon.com/removal-DEESS-device-Not-stand-alone-installed/dp/B072PVSJZL.

As far as the end results, ive only been using it 3 weeks(once a week for the first 4 weeks, then once a month)
So I'm not done yet but hair is already growing back much slower on chest and the hair on my hands has stopped growing almost completely. I assume it would just look like you're fresh shaven all the time but i need more time to see for myself.

0.5mm Derma Roller.
Oils were bought from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00X9BNOEQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0057X2HC4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you're gonna use peppermint oil with jojoba/castor oil you're gonna want about a 5% dilution. Otherwise the peppermint oil could be irritating to the skin. Never apply peppermint oil directly on your skin.

Peppermint oil was actually found to be more effective at growing hair than minox. The tests were conducted on rodents though, so I don't know if it applies to humans but as you can see I've been having good results from using both.

Nutricost L-Carnitine Tartrate... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XD03VGE?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I mix about 1.8 grams into a full bottle of minox, with a couple drops of peppermint oil as it smells pretty fishy on its own. As for the effectiveness, It’s hard for me to say, I’m taking like 8 supplements plus dermarolling plus beard oil, but in the two weeks I’ve been using lclt nearly all my vellus hairs darkened, there’s hairs next to my eyelids lol

u/ssadman000 · 1 pointr/Minoxbeards

That's exactly what I'm hoping for :D May I ask where you bought it from?

I got the 3-pack from here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JOPYQUM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This reddit post has some of the studies

And yes, I was scared about the fact of it being used to treat an irregular heartbeat. But I believe that is a different form of the drug, taken orally, in high amounts, which you need a prescription for.

If it was unsafe to use it wouldnt be in this product. Which you dont need a prescription for.
