Great quality / value
Most likely sensor dust. Buy a sensor swipe, clean camera, good as new. Do not clean with anything that is not a sensor swab or similar.

I'd check the used market; you should be able to get the next model up for about the same price.
I shoot with the a6000, got it open box from bestbuy and I've taken about 20,000 pictures with it in a little over a year. The 5100 has the same sensor as the 6000.
The 5100 kit for $450 on ebay, bestbuy, amazon body/lens. Personally when getting used go for bestbuy and maybe amazon.
