I do not. I can, however, definitively say that this is the best (non-permanent) mount you can buy out there: iOttie Easy OneTouch 2

It can attach directly to your dashboard, even on uneven and cureved surfaces. I know this first hand; the suction cup is patented and amazing.

If you're looking for something small that easily tucks out of the way, I have the iOttie EasyFlex 2 in my car. When I'm not using it it folds on itself and looks like a small hockey puck.

Seriously, they're amazing and super simple to use.

u/reverendnathan · 9 pointsr/MotoX

I'd only recommend the Hint if you've come to rely on BT ear buds. The X is very functional with "whip-right-out-of-your-pocket" functionality thanks to active display turning on and deep listening ready to go.

The car dock I bought is a U-grip for ten bucks. It's not perfect, but it certainly holds my device in place with absolutely no slippage, and the rotation ball on the dock is adjustable which is nice. Easy to remove.

If I can upsell you on car crap, the Kinivo bluetooth car unit in particular supports AptX as do Moto products! No quality compromise versus AUX IN... ditch the wires in your car! I mounted the controller low and can pause and skip in a very comfortable position where the unit is hidden-- honestly, don't know how I went so long with something so dang convenient.

If you are splurging, the turbo charger is cool. For when you've got no plugs, a powerbank is nice. Other than power and cord management, this phone takes away a lot of necessity for accessories.

I wanted the exact same things as you. I loved the hula bumper except that it was so expensive and I wanted more protection out of a case, so after awhile online looking at cases I got the SUP CASE unicorn beetle series (black/clear version) :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N3VHD6C/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1418917369&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70

Now I can tell you after months of a use that this thing is seriously your best option. Ive dropped my phone 3 times and in pretty bad spots, yet I have no damage whatsoever to my Moto X. Its super slim, light and strong. It keeps the original look and feel of your X but keeps it safe. I would like to add that it keeps the Moto dimple uncovered so that you can use it. Overall I would say this case is one of your best options especially for the price.

u/cbizzle31 · 2 pointsr/MotoX

It might not be what you are looking for but I got this slim hard case the other day and I love it. It has a great texture and also has the dimple plus its super slim although doesn't provide much protection.

Looks a lot like the Cimo case I use: http://amzn.com/B0115B4DHS

Really love the Cimo. Barely adds any bulk, and fits nice and tight on all sides.

I imagine either would be a great buy, especially since they are both under $10 with great reviews.

u/Chibichuba · 2 pointsr/MotoX

The best blend that I've seen between looks and protection is the Poetic Affinity case in clear/frosted rubber. All the polycarbonate is clear so you can see the back perfectly. The rubbery TPU strips along the back and the sides are frosted unlike the picture, but provide good grip and don't obstruct too much of the phone.

I like it much better than the clear Incipio one (discolors very quickly) and the clear VENA case (feels cheap and scratches), which I have both tried for about a month.

u/iMbalanceD1 · 4 pointsr/MotoX

+1 for Hula case. That's what I have on mine and it's great. It's just slightly thicker on the back than I would want but otherwise I like it.

I will also highly recommend the Unicorn Beetle Supcase (http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Unicorn-Motorola-Release-Premium/dp/B00N3VHD6C) as I used it on my moto x 1st gen and it was good. I wish the back were a bit clearer on it tho.

u/bloke226 · 2 pointsr/MotoX

Someone recommended Aduro U-GRIP in another thread and I like it. I wish the Moto X had the ability to use Qi charging like the N5 because the magnetic mounts are very easy to use. The U-GRIP is strong and doesn't move. I live in New England and deal with lot of frost heaves and pot holes and sometimes you can't avoid them all and the phone doesn't budge when I hit one.

u/nickreed · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I currently have mine on Straight Talk. I originally had ST with ATT , but recently switched to T-Mobile (it's easy to switch back and forth if you want, assuming you get the T-Mobile MotoX or the GSM Developer Edition model). One thing I would suggest getting first, if you decide to switch, is a SIM Punch. The reason being, Straight Talk only sells micro SIM cards, but the MotoX takes a nano SIM. The punch makes it easy to convert a micro SIM to a nano SIM. Otherwise, you have to cut it by hand.

After switching your account over, the only thing you have to do is key in Straight Talk's APN carrier settings (they will email you what to key in, or you can google it), and you're set!

MMS works, 4G LTE works (except for with Verizon), and everything else works the same. Only difference is the phone bill!

u/JPTJ15 · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I'm on my third case, including two mentioned in the comments. This is by far the nicest combination of slim ,protections and looks. It feels great n the hand also - just enough grip without being sticky. It is actually easier to use phone one handed now as I don't constantly feel like it's slipping out my hand ( was going naked with leather previously).

u/treyguad · 6 pointsr/MotoX

I have the Diztronic one and it fits like a glove! It's super cheap and a really good quality case. I think anyone whos ever had a Diztronic case in the past can agree they make good, simple, TPU cases.

u/Se7enLC · 1 pointr/MotoX

3.

I just got the Poetic Flip-Book a few weeks ago, and so far I like it. It's not leather, but it's "leather-like", and it's pretty thin. It protects it pretty well, and covers the screen, which is why I got it.

u/mentalitarium · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I second the Poetic Affinity. Best clear case I've found yet.
Buttons are responsive and clicky, it has good grip to it, and it shows off your phones design while adding a little to it with the little embellishments on the case itself. Snaps on/off super easy too.
Only complaints are there's no textured power button and the color of my jeans has started to rub off onto the raised parts of the case. Doesn't look bad at all honestly, just not as nice as it did.
The hard plastic part also scratches fairly easily but it's hardly noticeable. Aside from that it's also very durable so far.
Definitely recommend it.

I've been using the Incipio Protective since getting my Pure in Oct last year. I am pleased with it; it does however add a great deal of bulk to the phone, but I work outdoors a good bit and this has taken quite a few falls without issue. It is not water proof, but its heavily rubberized and with a nice glass screen protector it might work out fine.

https://smile.amazon.com/Incipio-Protective-Dualpro-Case-Style/dp/B0119SNIC8/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1467636469&sr=1-1&keywords=Incipio+Protective%2C+Dualpro+Case+for+Moto+X+Pure+Edition%2FMoto+X+Style+-+Retail+Packaging+-+Black

u/NHCheef · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I personally have yet to drop my 2015 Pure knocks on wood but there have been quite a few horror stories on this sub as well as on XDA with relatively minor drops causing catastrophic screen failure. Many claim short drop heights that render the screen digitizer completely useless and thus the phone useless.

I went a week with no case and although the phone fits the hand great with the curved back the increased size (I came from a 2013 X) had me worried about an accidental drop when transitioning my grip with one hand like when I have to reach for the notification shade, etc.

I ended up buying a [Supcase Unicorn] (http://www.amazon.com/Edition-SUPCASE-Unicorn-Protective-Motorola/dp/B0154AQ3QK) case which I also ran on my 2013 X with great success. I also added a [Pleson screen protector] (http://www.amazon.com/Protector-Motorola-Tempered-Protectors-Pure-Lifetime/dp/B015SMYSZM/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1449505113&sr=1-1&keywords=moto+x+pure+screen+protector+glass). If anything, it gives me some peace of mind that when (never an IF, always a WHEN) a drop occurs the phone has a better chance of surviving than if I ran it completely naked.

You don't want to know how many car mounts I've tried. :D (more than a dozen, I assure you).

Right now I have a hybrid mount, build from a head piece of Arkon and a mount piece of an iOttie.

The Arkon mount is a 4-point (two up, two down) grip mount that does not cover up any ports or any buttons, unlike the iOttie OneTouch mount, which covers up the side buttons.

The base of the iOttie, however, is a much better base with extendible arm giving a couple extra inches of reach. So I combined the best features of both into a single car dock.

u/carajean2725 · 3 pointsr/MotoX

Yeah they are $20 then $10.20 to ship! I almost bought one but instead picked up http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N3VHD6C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Awesome case by the way. Got it for $20 with next day shipping. Not exactly a bumper but the back is clear and very thin.

u/mysticportal · 5 pointsr/MotoX

I'm currently in love with this mount: http://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Holder-iPhone-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00JRGOKQ8

It let's you 360° rotate, swivel, extend the arm thing, and has a little flap thing that you push down to secure the mount to most textures on your car. Also, it has a stickyish bottom padding that can be cleaned with water in case it loses grip.

All you have to do to install the phone is open the gate thing, place your phone, & it snaps automatically for a secured fit.

u/cbsauder · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I've used diztronic tpu cases in the past (on my s3) and it was great. Currently I have a SupCase on my MotoX and i love it.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E8GQEQ6/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_ZtuZtb0FPFAPR808

It's a very solid and tight fitting construction/design. The "bars" on the back allow the phone to lay flat on the table and not rock back and forth due to the curved back, which is something I didn't know I wanted until I had it. I highly recommend it. This case takes a beating too. I was trying to take my phone from my pocket and flung it into a very hard floor and it just bounced.

u/Capt_Curry1 · 3 pointsr/MotoX

That's for the 2013 model bud. The pics and the pricing justify the model. Also under specs it mentions Moto X rather than Moto X 2nd Gen. Read this post for info on Moto X 2014 cases. If you want an Otterbox then check their site.

I myself own a SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Series and its one solid case that offers maximum protection without any cost on size/sturdiness. If you want something similar to the Otterbox Defender try the SUPCASE Unicorn Heavy Duty Series. Either way you can't go wrong and I highly recommend that case. If you have any questions feel free to comment or pm me.

u/doohy · 2 pointsr/MotoX

Maybe get a clear one and then just print out something to put between the phone and the case. This is the clear case I have a love: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B017MYQR44/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/dabug91 · 1 pointr/MotoX

You should be safe cutting it as long as you are careful. Most of the data on the LTE SIM card sits right in the very middle apparently, so if you only barely nip the edges in the process, it should still work. However, you should be able to easily go into a store and be given a new nano-SIM for free. Otherwise, here is a nice tool that will let you cut Mini and Micro SIM cards into Nano-SIM size. It also includes a small bit of sandpaper, and 2 adapters for going back to Micro-SIM or Mini-SIM if you need to.

This Hyperion is great for the $$$. Heck it is great period.

Any opinions on this one? Looks pretty good and has good reviews. Very tacky branding on the back though.

u/ThisAnacondaDoes · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I got this case and this glass screen protector off Amazon.

Love the case. It adds grip, isn't bulky, has the protected corners for drops, and is clear so the back design is still visible. The screen protector works just fine and I got it on with no bubbles or problems!

u/_thayer · 11 pointsr/MotoX

Just know that for every negative post in this sub, there are likely thousands of happy users.

My 32GB MXPE has been great from the day I bought it in December 2015. It's my daily driver and has run everything smooth and without issue. It fell in the toilet last month which caused the screen and other components to fail. After researching the latest offerings for about 3 days, I opted to replace it with the 64GB version from B&H Photo for $270. Couldn't be happier!

Nougat will come soon enough and once the warranty expires I suggest unlocking the bootloader and trying out some stable roms from the community (AICP, CyanogenMod, etc.).

Edit: To answer some of your other questions...

Screen Protector: As others have mentioned the screen has curved edges which means glass protectors almost never adhere properly. For plastic, I prefer matte anti-glare protectors. It gives the screen a grainier appearance which I prefer to high gloss. Depending on where you're located, you can score a 6 pack of glossy or matte protectors from Amazon right now for about $2:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01312JWI4/

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01312A6Q6/

Accessories: If you want a minimal black case, I recommend either of these inexpensive options:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B017RYYDHW/

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B016826YAI/

Finally, you might also want to grab a car charger with quick charge support from AliExpress. I think I paid $10 CAD for mine there.

u/QuakeAZ · 1 pointr/MotoX

I use Illumishield. Very good scratch resistance, I like them better than any others I've tried. https://www.amazon.com/iLLumiShield-Protector-Anti-Bubble-Anti-Fingerprint-Invisible/dp/B00ZS2HKQ2

u/Gchave · 1 pointr/MotoX

I hate to put a case on my new Moto X but having the Wireless Charging would be nice.
I'm thinking of using it with this case...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NVPOSVS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2HOCXU5SC35JO

I hope that it doesn't disturb the microphone on the back in any way. Would you happen to know what that little mic on the bottom is for? is it just noise cancellation for phone calls or used when recording a video or something?

u/Shadow_Prime · 1 pointr/MotoX

This TPU case is pretty good. Doesn't add much bulk to the phone, had a cutout for the nub, and it is not slick. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CXLY9KG/

Although what case is slick? What exactly do you mean by slide?

If you have some really smooth surface that the phone needs to stick to and no case is good enough, maybe use some friction tape on the back? http://www.amazon.com/3M-3407NA-Friction-0-708-Inch-240-Inch/dp/B001AXF416

u/ShadyShyGuy · 1 pointr/MotoX

I wanted to be safe because I can tend to be clumsy, so I got the armor shield screen protector. A little more complex than most screen protectors, but any small scratches you get in it it buffs out by itself, and can be taken off and cleaned and then reapplied, if you keep the kit. Also very good at keeping the screen slick and smooth. Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E5QKHOY?pc_redir=1404707531&robot_redir=1

EDIT: It's also apparently the cheapest it's ever been on Amazon right now.

u/JoeyCoffeeCakes · 1 pointr/MotoX

This is what I would get. It provides good protection, you can still see your custom design, and it's half the cost of an otter box. I love mine, it adds hardly any bulk to the phone.

u/chubby_cheese · 1 pointr/MotoX

I use the ArmorSuit protectors. It's a wet application, but I've gotten fairly good at applying those. I usually get Zaggs, but it sounds like their protectors are a smidge too narrow and doesn't cover the whole screen.

u/mykalepaul · 12 pointsr/MotoX

I love my Supcase Has the dimple. Doesn't add bulk. Has protected my phone from so many dings scuffs and drops.

u/Absinthian · 7 pointsr/MotoX

The case I have is the Moto X Case, SUPCASE [Unicorn Beetle Series]

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00N3VHD6C

Slim, compact, strong, fits well and is clear so you can still see the funky back of my phone

u/pr0grammer · 1 pointr/MotoX

If it has an aux port, I recommend this thing if she listens to music in the car. Very convenient and works great, and much cheaper than a head unit upgrade.

u/eziopcmr · 1 pointr/MotoX

I'm really in need of a good case that protects against drops. Just to make sure, is this the one you're referring to?

u/CZbwoi · 2 pointsr/MotoX

Buy one of these, Supcase.

All of them have a see-through back cover(except the pure black/black one) and they have good grip and fixes all your slipping problems, I just got mine yesterday.

Choose which one you want. Frost Clear/Black goes with anything, as does just regular old Frost Clear, but that one is too plain and...milky white for me. On the other hand you could just do Black/Black for blackness or choose one of those color options.

2 Moto X's I'm currently holding, the black one and one of the blue ones(Navy I think). While the black one has a softer fabric feel and the blue one is more plastic, they both slip sometimes. I'd say go with one of these cases.

u/bicyclemom · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I'd like for it to finally recognize the bluetooth in my car.

Maybe it's because I don't use a built-in bluetooth, but instead I have one of those plug-it-into-the-car's power port ones (Kinivo BTC-450, I hightly recommend it for older cars)..

It pairs/connects fine and puts the car into driving mode once I hit 15 mph, but it still doesn't list my BTC-450 as one of "Devices associated with driving".

u/clumsyotter · 1 pointr/MotoX

Supcase makes a nice one. It's out of stock on Amazon right now though. The back is frosted clear so you can sort of see the color of the back of your phone. http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00N3VHD6C

u/Dwragon · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I'm paranoid about causing any damage to my my pure, which I've already scuffed on the edge before my case came in.
I first went with a TPU case from Amazon for 8 dollars. I Hated the feel of that that case, do not recommend.

Ended up going with an Incipio case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0119SNIC8/ref=mp_s_a_1_sc_1?qid=1449554485&sr=8-1-spell&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=Incision+moto+x+pure

I like the way this cases material feels, but it does make the phone feel noticeably larger. I can still use it one handed, and I feel like I don't have very much larger than average hands. I'm happy with the space and durability it provides though.

u/LeamNoran · 1 pointr/MotoX

This case by Poetic isn't too bad. Has two slots. Works great for card+ID.

u/Differlot · 1 pointr/MotoX

There's the bear motion case with the sand paper texture back

http://www.amazon.com/Case-Moto-2nd-Gen-Generation/dp/B00OCC4DVE

Heard good things and it apparently vastly improves grip.

u/spif · 2 pointsr/MotoX

This is the one I have, works great, charges very quickly: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014GRM294

they also make these:

http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-RAVPower-20100mAh-Portable-External/dp/B0156HCJQO

http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Certified-RAVPower-20100mAh-Technology/dp/B019IFIJW8

Those two have type C connectors, and the last one is also QC 3.0 compatible so if you get a device with that later on it'll be compatible as well. Right now the LG G5 is the only flagship device with QC 3.0, but I imagine the next gen Moto X will have it as well. Depends on how often you refresh your phone I guess, or if you have or plan to get other devices with type C.

u/milan616 · 1 pointr/MotoX

I have a thin case, (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0115B4DHS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00) you can definitely tell there is something there, changes the shape a bit but it's not terrible. Just a bit squared on the back. The mount comes with 2 plates, one long rectangle and a circle one. I use the rectangle for more surface area. Works fine for me.

u/ekaPue · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I have the Diztronic case and it's my favorite phone case at any price, for $10 I love it. I've had OtterBox and Mophie cases, but they didn't feel right and added too much bulk so I left them in a drawer most of the time.

I've had the QC 2.0 version of the Ravpower 20100mAh for the past year. It's been excellent. It got a a lot of use at a convention charging my Moto X as well as friend's Nexus 6P simultaneously. Very fast, and no problems. It's huge though, and somewhat expensive as a result.

If you want to have a good case that is actually going to protect your phone when you drop it on the ground and not let the screen crack, I would get the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Heavy Duty edition (goofyass name). For the X 2014, I recommend at least a bumper. The screen sticks out a bit from the body of the phone and if you drop it on one of the corners, the screen will shatter, even with a screen protector.

I use the Diztronic TPU case. It's slim and covers the corners. It fixes the two biggest problems with the phone for me. An unprotected moto X has vulnerable corners, like I've said before, and it is too slick without a case, making it much easier to drop.

I have been using Diztronic cases for my last 3 phones and I love them. I've had the Moto X Pure case for about 3 months now. They are small and not bulky, lightweight, and flexible but still provide enough protection to elevate the screen when placing the phone screen down and enough corner protection from an average height drop. (I dropped my phone for the first time on concrete and this is the only visible damage on one of the corners.)

I bought this and this for mine a few months ago and I haven't had any issues. The phone's fallen several times on concrete and no damage.
