I got this one. First I thought i put it on perfect, it was aligned with no bubbles. But then I realized from certan angles I could see a shimmering puddle of liquid in the middle. This was not a big deal to me because you could mostly not see it at all. Then the screen protector started to slide a little downwards which messed up the alignment but not enough to interfere with anything. Then a couple weeks in a crack appeared at the top.

I'm still using it but I don't think I'd recommend this one. I think the glue they use make it very good for not leaving bubbles but it seems to not dry all the way leaving it prone to movement and then cracking.

Best of luck finding a good one let us know about it when you do.

IQ Shield HD Clear. It's a liquid application screen protector, meaning you spray it down with a solution before applying, and let it dry. It's like those Zagg protectors people used to put on their iPods back in the day. I actually like it a lot more than I thought I would. The cutouts are perfect, and the application took just a few minutes. It's super clear, and doesn't feel rubbery or anything. They also make full body protectors.

Haven't ever had a problem with any cable that has the 56K Ohm Pull up resistor. All those cables seem to work with the turbo charge and QC 3.0 for any phone that supports turbo charge or QC 2.0 or 3.0. I have a variety of cables, any cable that works with one seems to work with the other as well (which for all the cables I have are the higher quality ones which have the 56K Ohm pull up resistor) and the included cable that came with the phone.

The last cables I bought are these. The cables work with the Moto X4 Amazon Prime Exclusive to turbo charge quickly from QC 3.0 chargers and seem to be pretty good quality (I don't have anything to test current or anything like that, but they seem to be built well and charge fast). Plus they were cheap, pretty long, and had good reviews. They won't charge at 5V 3A, but as I understand, by USB-C standards USB-A to USB-C cables aren't supposed to (that's what the 56K Ohm resistor is for I think), so I don't look at that as a negative. They will still charge the phone at 15W using QC 3.0, just at higher voltage and lower amp combinations that equal 15W. I think it's like 9V at 1.67A and 12V at 1.2A. I don't have the charger with me, but I believe the charger that comes with the phone does the same rates, but it may also support 5V at 3A, can't really remember. Long story short though, either way those cables should charge at the same 15W rate.

Sorry for the long reply, I just got going and couldn't stop.

That's pretty good. Really.

Is this with the stock camera app?

When I bought my X4 I had reservations about the camera after reading too many posts in here. Once I got the X4 I installed the GCAM and about 8-10 more cameras (I channeled the nerd in me). I did some tests and.... the stock camera is good enough for casual social media posts, more then good enough.

Now, for professional photography? Not really.

But here the thing (comparison), of someone really wanted something more "professional"

Price of Pixel 3 5.5" 64GB: $799

Price of X4 ($149) + price of "Canon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR Camera Bundle with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens + 2pc SanDisk 32GB Memory Cards + Accessory Kit" ($439) = $588

I bet the Canon takes better pics/video than the Pixel

Add a WiFi sd card for $38.99.

>Also any good screen protectors or cases I should buy?

Spigen Rugged Armor is my recommendation. Good fit, nice feel, pleasantly textured buttons.

I got one of the [Supershield] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07765ZTT7/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) brand for mine. I have a black phone so the black outline doesn't bother me but it has protected my phone before and I've replaced it with the spare. I'd recommend it for function and in my opinion the cutouts match up very nicely.

Edit: I just noticed the picture on amazon shows it has a section missing at the bottom. Mine don't have that and my girlfriend's didn't either. But they could have changed their product I guess. I might buy another since I am out of spares now

From the page:

> I use it in my car with a small clamp (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PICAE4C) on my handbrake, but it is compatible with any GoPro-style mounting device you like.

Though I left out the part that attaches the body to the mount and just glued on a metal pad for the magnet. Works pretty well. Your setup may vary based on your car.

Well for what's worth I ended up going to OEM Motorola. Got it at Amazon and it's the real deal Motorola product. Works well and I am happy with it.

Are you using a Quickcharge charger? If yes, check the connections. Sometimes lint or debris can get in there and you won't get Turbo Charge. Also if possible try a different charger. If the charger or cord is starting to get old they might not work for turbo charging. My original charger had the cord split. Now I use these chargers from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019GQ6S2C
They work great for turbo charging and I can replace the cord if it frays or I need something with a different length.

256GB is currently the best $/GB for MicroSD cards. I put one of these in my 32GB Amazon Prime X4: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-256GB-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0758NHWS8/ Now plenty of storage for music, videos and photos. I just wish the X4 would allow apps to be moved to the card.

Picked up the Spigen Rugged Armor and really like it. Fits snugly, very slim, good bumpers around the camera hump. Only complaint is it's a little slick to the touch, hoping it will rough up over time. Previously tried the Dretal case. Very similar to the Spigen, but definitely felt cheaper with softer rubber, looser fit, and no camera hump bumper.

I went with Anker branded cables (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A6F3WHG) with an Aukey 18w charger with Qualcomm Quickcharge 3 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018RR30TK) and it works perfectly.

Just stick with the name brands for cables, and for chargers look for Qualcomm Quickcharge 3 with 18w and you should be good to go.

I ordered the Supershield one ~6 months ago and the black border on the left and right side both covered just a little bit of the screen. Like 2 rows of pixels on either side so I know it was centered the border is just too thick.

Just recently ordered and put on this one and fits better without covering any of the screen. The clear window for the moto logo is a little weird but other than that I like it.

I didn't know that about Moto X4 only being USB 2.0 capable. That's useful info. Now I know not to bother with 3.0 adapters and the like.

As for my original question, I ran a search engine query and only came up with one person on a lenovo forum who tried and failed to use this product https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071HF3ZYQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Apparently most USB ethernet adapters require (compatibility with) a AX88772 chip set, which the Moto X4 doesn't have.

I bought replacement glass on Amazon here: Eaglestar Black True Glass Lens Cover Rear Camera Glass Replacement for Motorola Moto X4 X 4th XT1900+Repair Tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B2RMPWM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RwB5AbCZJAV35. It took only about five minutes to replace and is just like new!

I have had good luck so far with the AmazonBasics USB Type-C to USB-A Male 3.1 Gen2 Cable - 3 Feet (0.9 Meters). At the same time I updated to the April 1st 2019 security update. Since both of those Auto has been rock solid. Before that I'd get several disconnects to the point of getting a similar USB device error, even on short drives.

I still have to unlock the phone to get Auto started, unlike all the other phones in my household that connect automatically even when locked.

My HU is a Sony XAV-AX100.

The only brand name case available in stores is from Incipio. It's just a simple gel case and not very protective. Best Buy sells a clear version, while Target sells a smoke grey version. Otherwise, you'll only find Chinese brands on Amazon or eBay. This is my favorite, fairly slim, yet protective, and a snug fit:

I took a few photos but also you can have a look at this: Amazon Face - looks pretty similar

u/DrFatz · 1 pointr/MotoX4

Because of the curved display, most clear screen protectors only cover the screen and not the entire front.

This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07765ZTT7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NClCCbYH6H7NQ

I didn't know this was a thing.

I wonder if the plugs can be used when you have one of these TPU cases on the phone...

u/NobodyByChoice · 1 pointr/MotoX4

It's a SuperShieldz. Been on for two months without slippage, bubbles, or anything abnormal like that. The border is weird, but it doesn't obstruct the screen, and since my phone is black, it made no visible difference once I applied it.
