I don't have anything like that to recommend but if you are interested in more reading (especially non-fiction) take a look at the ones below.

Red Wheelbarrow Journal

I also really enjoyed the following:

The Innovators: How a Group of Hackers, Geniuses, and Geeks Created the Digital Revolution

We Are Anonymous: Inside the Hacker World of LulzSec, Anonymous, and the Global Cyber Insurgency

Hacker, Hoaxer, Whistleblower, Spy: The Many Faces of Anonymous

Kingpin: How One Hacker Took Over the Billion-Dollar Cybercrime Underground

From there, I went on to various sysadmin books (non-fiction) and a few journal articles.

I live in a very small town lmao, I've only ever seen the cheapo flat cardboard chess sets that come in boxes or decorative chess sets that are borderline tacky. Took a little searching but I'm pretty sure I found the same exact set here on Amazon.

I found that pricing on some Mr Robot related items has increased substantially since season 2 started. I managed to get one of the masks at San Diego Comic Con which I was putting together a surprise for my son's birthday next month.

I purchased my patch on eBay and had it sewn on a jacket that I purchased from this site. (pricing has increased $10 since July) I then added a hat from Amazon and a couple of different color scarves I purchased from eBay.

Improvements in 1337 Hax0r skilz are not guaranteed.

Yeah but I've been doing it way before the show.

Here's a more elegant solution btw.

I personally have never heard that phrase as a suggestion for lucid dreaming, but its been several years since I read one of the definitive books on the process.

--

Yes, lucid dreaming is aided by "short sentence recited repeatedly". I know a common one is to simply ask "Is this a dream?" or "wake up inside the dream".

If you want to try it, ask those questions at various points in your day and keep it as a running thought - so when you do dream, you might be able to catch the oddness of whats going on and 'wake up, inside of your dream."

An episode set in the backdrop of a NYC Blackout would be really cool. Like a parody of the real NYC blackout of 1977. Maybe it's the dark army's real motive for working with Elliot on "Stage 2". Elliot even says something in beginning of s2e9 like "we never questioned the dark army's motives"). It is totally plausible, even likely, that the Dark Army is sponsored by the State (China), maybe they want to have the first strike in a true Cyber War with the US. First they break down society by aiding the crash of the financial system and encouraging dissent. Next cut the power, civilization starts to unfold, next bring the telecom systems down, invade, WWIII! Ok I'll put my tin foil hat back on.

edit - this is also a part of the plot of a book I read recently called Cyber Storm

OK following the link in the thread to A master of "illusion" http://www.thomasmoorecreative.com. The address there is Thomas Moore Creative The Old Post Office Leicester, Lce LE3 9FD United Kingdom.

If you do a search for that address you can poke around on what I think is a fake set of 4 companies Thomas Moore and Sandra Moore have run. http://www.endole.co.uk/profile/11913137/thomas-moore

His minibook from the site has an rambling essay of "coding" up light patterns for magic acts.

Depending on the subject. Like there's a lot of foundational subjects in CS and programming that are still relevant since decades ago. Like this book https://www.amazon.com/Structure-Interpretation-Computer-Programs-Engineering/dp/0262510871

which was on teachyourselfcs.com

I did find it odd that Elliott purchased a laptop rather than desktop, especially a GAMING one at that. Perhaps story wise it was to save time on a build? I'm wondering if it will return as a part of his "hack station". Doubt it.
