I also had heat intolerance as a very early symptom. I loved summer as a kid, and 5 years ago, I thought I was dying. It felt like I was carrying weights on my arms and legs. I thought I was having a stroke, because I wasn't making any sense when I was speaking.
Now that I know this about myself, I am super careful on the subway, and being outside in general. I use these headbands, and honestly, they are awesome. I highly recommend them to anyone who has heat intolerance.

I was reading Multiple Sclerosis For Dummies last week and ran into a passage where the authors said something along the lines of: "You can have MS and still be healthy." In context of the chapter on keeping up with your health outside of the MS, it made perfect sense ... but it still struck me as odd, because MS is a disease. Keeping yourself otherwise healthy when you have MS means, at best, that you are healthy except for the fact that you have MS.

It comes down to the context, I suppose. Healthy and ill are very context-heavy words in normal usage. It sounds like your team member wanted to know if you were okay - another very context heavy word. :)

Cant help with bedding but I use this religiously. Yes, I know it is "for dogs" but it is really affordable and gets really cool, even in summer, from just the air in the room. Never needs to be put in the fridge or anything. I keep it by my side of the bed and just put it under me when I wake up too hot. The medium size folded in half is the perfect size to just fit on top of my pillow.

Got my mom one for her hot flashes and she loves it too!

I obviously don't know you or your SO, but I wanted to let you know that even with minimal disability from my MS, I still find the talk toilets and grab bars absolutely useful. I was actually shocked at how useful they were, because I'm not in any terrible state where you'd think I'd actually need them. Specifically the taller toilet, and the double bar that can be pushed up and out of the way, are super useful.

Here is a Lion's Mane research article describing the main active ingredients and their effects. Here is a background article about the need for extraction to improve bioavailability.

The brand you linked to is fine in itself but it is not an alcohol or dual extract (essential, because terpenes are alcohol-solubles) and it is optimised for beta-glucan, which is not relevant in this case.

The supplement should ideally list terpenes and be alcohol or at least dual extracted if you are after the Lion's Mane NGF-boosting / myelin protecting effects. This seems to be the best option, but it is not available currently.

That's really thoughtful of you. I'm sure whatever you end up getting he will really appreciate.

The first thing that came to mind is a really nice journal/organizer, but I'm not sure if that's just something I would appreciate, or if normal people would also like something like that.

... I also googled presents to get doctors, and chuckled with this idea.

I have this one: I'm 5'9 and it has LOTS of room to adjust the handles upwards for taller people. Comfy seat. Not a lot of storage room comes built in so I'm going to have to get something additional, but it's pretty sweet. Also lightweight for its sturdiness, and I can fold and put in the trunk of my husband's car without stressing myself out. Mine now has flames and iridescent cat sticxkers on it :)

Forgot to mention, these are the pills I take. They're a big dose, but super tiny and easy to swallow. I don't know if you can get them where you live but it's worth a shot if you can. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A0F2B2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Well, here's what I and my wife have going:
For comfort- a $50 lazy boy recliner, Craigs list usually has tons of them. Then get an Able Life Able Tray. Then a gaming laptop (I have an MSI GT70 Dominator, it's pretty awesome). Add a G13 gaming keyboard pad and a good gaming mouse and rest them on the chairs arms (less stress on your arms compared to reaching up to use the laptops keys). I've modified the tray's table area with a torque hinge so the laptop keyboard can be tilted downward to a comfortable angle. And lastly, esp. for summer, I have a fan clipped to the handle of the tray pointed at moi.

I completely understand. When we shut ours off, sometimes I feel like I can’t breathe. Maybe gift him a comfy hoodie or blanket? I like these. They’re affordable, soft, fashionable, AND come in tons of colors. They’re also lightweight enough for you to use if you get too cold. My husband and I love them.

I love these microfiber cooling towels! All you need is some cold water and you get fantastic and versatile cooling. Easy to pack and carry too.

I’m not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I found having my bed higher made getting out of it easier. I don’t know if your particular bed frame would support it, but bed risers are an inexpensive option that can give a little height to make getting out of bed/couches/chairs a bit easier.

I have MS and extreme heat sensitivity. I live in the desert and I really did not want to wear what looks like a bomb vest on the rare occasions I leave the house in the summer so I bought a dog cooling vest instead. I wear it backwards over my clothes so that the cooling part is on my back and I carry a cooling towel as well. The dog vest kinda looks like bondage gear and I'm ok with that. It obviously does not work as well as a full vest but it helps me tremendously. The cooling pouch is large enough for the small freezer pack that comes with it - plus plenty of space left for extra freezer packs or to store frozen margaritas pouches for friends.

I don't know what her symptoms are but I'm a practical gift person, so perhaps these aren't good yet but maybe for future years: Digital thermometer, because when an MS'er is feeling bad, they can temp check for infection. Infections cause a temporary worsening of symptoms that can make you fear you're in relapse when you've just got a simple bladder infection! Also, I just bought these [Shoe Traction Cleats for Ice and Snow] (https://www.amazon.com/Limm-Traction-Cleats-Extra-Large/dp/B01KIPYNLI/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511851765&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=SNOTEK+Pro+Winter+Ice+Grips+for+Shoes+and+Boots) for myself for winter ice and snow (I can't feel my feet anymore and I live in the great white north so these help me from slipping and fit over regular shoes and boots). They are awesome, and can be pulled off whenever you want. Also I bought myself a sturdy, black folding cane that looks classy/sleek/sexy so I can put it in my purse when not needed and not look like I'm carrying around a candy cane. Walking poles are good too, if you want something more subtle that can also be used for imbalance problems. I recently learned that a wobbly MS'er can still hike if they use these ;)

Thank you. Yes I did. It was a soft rubber tip, and would break off. You can go to Walgreens, Target, Walmart, or wherever and buy new ones. They're super cheap.

I thoroughly recommend this book, as it helped me to understand and accept all areas of my diagnosis. The Multiple Sclerosis Manifesto, by Julia Stachowiak

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1932603441/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/181-4688963-2717761

It is written in a method that is easily understood by all, and as such it is also a good read for anyone who might be involved with the affected individual.

Shared Solutions (Copaxone's Manufacturer's Organiztion) gave me some free Gel freezer packs. Kind of like these
