They are amazing! Bought them a couple weeks back on Amazon from a company called Hitlights . Would definitely recommend them!

They come with a 12v wall plug, controller, and remote. I have a cable sleeve going down the corner of the wall behind where I took the picture where the 12v plugs into an extension cord that plugs into the wall. It's not as clean of a cable setup as I'd like but it does a pretty good job.

They have a very nice range of brightness and great color profile but honestly the adhesive on the back (for the wall ones at least) is just alright. You would hope they'd use a stronger adhesive, especially considering how long it is. Parts of it fell several times while hanging so I ended up using some double-sided gorilla tape which did a solid job.

Hope this helps!

That mic is great, but you can get something like an SM57 much cheaper, if she's recording acoustic guitar.

If you want a pretty good vocal mic, that will also be cheapish you can get something like this.

Or just buy an sm58 which is a cheaper version of the other one you just showed, and is good for doing live stuff if you want to do that.

You can also get a 4x4 input thing so that she can multitrack into a daw, or just a smaller one if she's only ever going to record like 2 tracks at once.

I got something like this.

The SM57 and SM58 are pretty much standards in the music world.

That being said, IIRC the SM7b (the mic you're looking at) is what Micheal Jackson recorded a lot of his stuff on ( the bad album at least), so it's def pro level.

I splurged on this stand but I love how easy it is to adjust in a pinch (no more tightening as tight as you can).

For vocals I prefer the round weighted base cuz it’s easier to avoid tripping on. But I got a boom attachment for reach (can’t find the link sorry!)

I haven’t taken the plunge to actually bring a full keyboard onstage, but I have two of these - great for my Bass Station and Octatrack, and unobtrusive on a stage.

I put other gear on this keyboard stand, which is nice because the height and length are both adjustable, and it collapses quite easily.

At home I have a Pyle Z-stand, but I haven’t even thought about putting it in my car since I got it - kinda intimidated by the packing implications tbh :)

This is also how I work. A smidge more detail from my set up -- I have multiple "Cord Control Kits" (fancy name, it's just a plastic tube); cannot find these anymore other than eBay, so also use these sleeves.

I use the sleeves / kits are for my racked gears' power, audio, and MIDI, separately. (Keeping power and audio separately to avoid interference, and MIDI just for appearance.)

For my desk -- computer power cords, video cables, USB, Thunderbolt, &c -- these are routed as much as possible behind the desk and behind my keyboards, occasionally twist-tied or velcro-tied to the desk or keyboard stand legs. When there's a bit of a mess I'm a bit embarrassed to write, then hidden behind a cloth hanging behind the desk (so the cables are between the wall and the cloth).

Just as /u/wrongfulness writes, cables stay in place when I take gear to a gig; this is important to me, although having a double set of cables can get expensive, and then they themselves need to be managed. I have a cable wall (like this material, but not exactly; I can't find exact product image this minute), where I drape all my extra cables, grouped by type and (roughly) by length.

Set up can be a chore, including keeping from inter-weaving cables in the racks. At one point, frustration led to unplugging one end of most cables from the gear, then re-running it more carefully.

I'm afraid I rambled here, sorry, but wish you well with finding your own solution; I feel it is quite useful and satisfying to have solid cable management and ultimately worth the effort.

Edit: to add: my room is in a partial square shape. Desk, with racks to the left and keyboards to the right and behind (with space to get in the middle :) ). This means running MIDI and ADAT from keyboard to racks, for which I have one of these, and do not step on it. They do not work as well as I'd have liked ... I had to tape the bottom slit closed to keep cables from popping out. I dislike this across-the-floor solution, but couldn't see purchasing long enough cables to go around the perimeter. (For taping, because I wanted to not get sticky on the cables, I put painters tape along the slit, with the non-sticky side against the floor runner, sticky side facing up, and then used duct tape to do the main securing to hold the slitted area closed.)

Not sure why I'm writing so much; sorry.

Edit 2: wrong words; ugh.

Bon Courage :)

I've been using this for almost 3 years:

https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B0002GL7ZO

You may want to add protective sleeves to your gear because the padding is a little lackluster (if not absent in certain spots), but the size is just a perfect compromise and the front pocket is quite useful for cables and such.

Also, I covered it with pins. Everyone loves pins, you should too.

If you're interested. I built a clearly inferior to OP's but still solid desk from IKEA parts in this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ikeahacks/comments/4lkpv1/bekant_lack_and_capitas_my_new_desk/

Came in about just around $300ish total iirc, has served me well for a few years now. Also, bonus, it's very easy to disassemble for moving purposes.

Keyboard try is here but honestly I hardly ever use it anymore, also this one looks out of stock but any similar products should work:

The mixcube is great 2nd opinion when working on mixdowns. It's not necessarily the best sounding speaker, but gives a pretty clear picture how things sound in mono (and whether you need to adjust certain track levels based on that). The riser stand is a cheap laptop stand I got off of amazon:

I take it you’re looking for a long term storage solution but with dayvto day accessibility? As in easy in, easy out, and it’ll be out of sight as well.

After you find an appropriately sized case, you’ll want to set up some pick and pluck foam inserts so everything has a spot. No more digging through bins for what you need. Prioritize the stuff you already use constantly, then put the rest into your big Rubbermaid container in the closet. (And mark it “summer clothes” so your wife doesn’t complain about your hoarding)

Then you’ll want a few hundred of these to keep your wires neat and undamaged. Beats rolling them around the wall wart or using rubber bands.

It’s a little less accessible than the cable hangers but it clears the clutter.

Yes, go back to IKEA! Somewhere near the end, around the lamps and ceiling lights, I found these cheap cable snake sleeves:
https://m2.ikea.com/us/en/p/rabalder-cable-organizer-white-20281419/

I also use these for cables under the desk after separating out of the snake and organizing under the desk:
https://www.amazon.com/Command-Clear-Clips-Strips-CL017-13NA/dp/B076ZT3FVN/
These too:
https://www.amazon.com/Command-Damage-Free-Small-without-Packaging/dp/B0751TRS6Y/

And these are great for individual cable control:
https://www.amazon.com/Planet-Waves-Elastic-Cable-10-pack/dp/B001PGXKCS/

I've added to and removed from my setup half a dozen times since I last organized my wires so they're a mess again, so be aware that it's a constant battle.

Edit: these look pretty good too, am going to get some myself if I don't make it to IKEA soon:

That's a beautiful desk. Thanks for the advice! My desk is adjustable in height but I'm not sure if it has the depth necessary to hold multiple tiers of gear like that. I'd have to find a new place for my mixer/analog heat/deluge/rytm if I used the desk for a keyboard, so I'm thinking that I'm going to get a second tier riser for my keyboard stand (like https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B077J8BRWV/ref=psdcmw_491024011_t2_B0002E3DNU). Cheers

It’s a Samson LTS50 laptop stand. My only complaint is it has a tiny lip at the top edge which makes keeps the Push from laying perfectly flat. I’ve considered dremeling it off or something but I’m pretty sure the end result would just be worse than living with it. Otherwise it’s fantastic.

Oh yeah we have GC. i'm in Chicago. Dang, you're the second person to say that. I really like how they look and was under the impression they're the best shit around until you get to the thousands of dollars range. Are they better for home theater than other audio? People I'm speaking to are biased toward that.

So Yamaha HS-8 and Klipsch R-15PM are the same price. Thoughts?

Actually that's something I vexxed about for awhile while planning the final state for the room. I used to have a Quicklok 2-tier stand, but it was all crooked and problematic.

The stand on the right was bought from a local synth shop owner who didn't need it any more. It's a Pro Line and I paid him seventy five bucks for it. It's pretty sturdy and meant for touring, so the footprint is a big larger than I'd prefer.

I just bought the one on the left last week from Amazon. It's the more durable of the 3-tier Quicklock stands available. I'm really happy with it. Very precisely made and sturdy. Here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JIULCGO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

After overthinking it way too much, flip-flopping between aesthetics ("mid-century bent wood!") vs functionality, on a whim I ordered one of these and it's actually been one of the most important pieces of gear I've added to my studio in the last year:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072Y2MRY2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Nothing gets in the way and frequently it serves as an additional surface to put a thing on. I love it.

u/djvirgen · 5 pointsr/MusicBattlestations

I use one of these laptop stands:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HJ1ZB8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_cVFpzbV4PSABQ

It's pretty nice, works well to hold up the MS-20 Mini, or can also hold a Novation Circuit, Elektron Analog Heat or Elektron Digitakt. Ironically, it does not work well for holding my laptop, because my laptop has a curved bottom that causes it to slide over the little lip.

u/aasteveo · 1 pointr/MusicBattlestations

Also, invest in an extension cord and clean up those cables! Or check out this outlet switcher, it's really nice to be able to turn off pieces of gear all in one place.

u/mistershifter · 1 pointr/MusicBattlestations

If you're referring to the traps in the corners, they're actually not very high quality. I got them pretty cheap on Amazon. They're not bad for the price though.

The panels on the ceiling and side walls are from GIK Acoustics.

not really that happy with it tbh for what I paid - i can't get really get it to spread out and look natural, but its better than seeing a bunch of modems and wires I suppose

u/lilblovesyou · 1 pointr/MusicBattlestations

Gotcha, Thanks for that I was looking at this, damn thing is out of stock everywhere.

No the speakers were these. They don't have xlr on these ones. I have them boxed up and ready to go out.

EDIT : Just ordered these let me know what you think.

The TB-03 is on one of these: https://www.amazon.com/PYLE-PRO-PLPTS25-Laptop-Computer-Stand/dp/B004HJ1ZB8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479488013&sr=8-1&keywords=pyle+laptop+stand

The Bass Station is on a combination of a metal folding baking rack that I got at Target years ago and can no longer find, with one of these on top: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Ventilated-Adjustable-Laptop-Stand/dp/B00WRDS8H0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479488062&sr=8-2&keywords=amazon+laptop+stand

Look for folding baking racks at your local store that would have those sort of things. ;)
