Looks great man. The last shot reminds me of the one drawback to having a red car, no awesome mirror effect when it's been clay'd, polished and waxed :/

Anyways, next polish and wax, after you clay, hit it with the buffer and some of this stuff to get rid of the swirls. The quick detailer spray doesn't do that (unless you have polish off to the side in that 1st pic)

Chemical guys and cobra both make excellent polishing and buffing pads. Use 1 pad per side of the car so you'll use around 4, maybe 5 depending on how much dirt the pad collects.

The different brands use different color pads depending on what you're doing (heavy scratch removal, light swirl removal, applying wax, etc) so note that when buying.

Also, I would say after you finish polishing but before applying wax, hit it with one or two coats of an acrylic polymer sealant. It does the same job as wax but is more durable. This is especially helpful if you don't keep the car in a garage or daily drive it because wax typically will only last a few months before it's gone. Acrylic will last much longer. I'm a huge fan of the Menzerna sealant.

The trick to prolonging the protective finish is to spray and wipe down the car after every wash between polishing and waxing. This will help maintain the protective coat.

Blackfire wet diamond is really good stuff for this.

That quick detailer spray may work for that but I haven't used the meguiars quick detail in forever. I know it worked really well for me as a claybar lubricant.

Edit: and throw that sponge away!! buy a nice microfiber wash mitt and use a bucket (or 2) with a plastic dirt catcher in the bottom. (pro tip: you can buy nice buckets for super cheap at home depot. They're orange and the dirt catchers fit perfectly!) Google search 2 bucket wash method if you're not familiar with the process.

For the head unit I used a Pioneer 4200nex (this head unit is pretty much the same as the 8200nex(which is the top of the line head unit) but without the navigation. There really isn't a need for that feature since this head unit supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play, they both use their own maps)

For the dash kit I used the ADS MUS1 Radio Installation Kit (if you decide to go with this kit, the wire harness is already included inside the box)

Then I used the iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR module so they would all communicate with each other, that also took care of the A/C, steering wheel controls and will also connect to the ODB2.

I did not install this myself, but the installer told me that it wasn't too difficult, and it was his first time installing this kit/radio into a mustang.

I love it!!! It was worth the all the money I spent!

edit: if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask :)

I just bought a '14 GT which is essentially the same internals as the 2011. I went with these Polk DB571's. Took me about an hour and a half to install, but it all went flawlessly and they sound incredibly better than the stock crap that came with it. Sync calls now sound clear and nice whereas before they were muffled and flat. They do not need an amplifier and they are so much better than stock.

Also make sure you buy 2 of these as well so you don't have to do any fancy wiring. Each pack comes with 2. And also a set of these so you don't damage anything taking the doors and trunk shelf apart.

Here is a crazy useful video on how to install them.

Total cost for two sets of speakers and tools to install them, about $130. This is of course assuming you have a ratchet set available.

OP, some accessories I'd recommend:

  1. Tint. That should win the award for duh, sorry.

  2. Dashcam. There are many, check out https://www.reddit.com/r/Dashcam/

  3. Floor mats. Weathertech / http://www.weathertech.com/ is really popular. Most of their styles have a deep-ish footwell which is great if you live in rainy, muddy or snowy areas. I don't and prefer my feet to be 'no slip' when driving; went with Ford's rubberized mats and trunk liner. https://accessories.ford.com/interior/floor-mats/kit-floor-contour-mat-10886.html

  4. This one sounds cheesy but it works. Took my 16 GT on a 6k roadtrip this year. Getting out of the car and had my phone in one hand, something else in the other. Wouldn't you know it my phone fell into the space between the center rest and seat. Not fun getting it out. Pretty much yes. I used this paint
I first just used my jack and did my right tire but if you can put your car on stands, it will save you lots of time! I first did my front right side. Lift the car, took the tire out, cleaned the caliper extra well with a rag and alcohol (to really get rid of any dirt and oils). Then started masking all round with newspaper and masking tape (including the ground.. I used paper and garbage bags). I Used an exacto blade to cut around the areas I didnt want to get paint on (really not as hard as it sounds just be careful). Then I primed it with regular primer spray paint. Waited for it to dry, and went at it with the yellow paint. Here is a link of a few pics i took between layers, imgur.com/a/h8kPg You wanna Do 2 or 3 layers which i highly recommend putting the car on stands. That way you can mask and paint and switch sides as you go instead of just using the jack for one caliper and having to wait 15-30min between layers. Hope that helps. Feel free to PM me if you still have some trouble

Edit: Sorry, the second link isnt showing up but just copy and paste and it should work

Dammit, I wasn't planning on spending much money right now, but you inspired me and I just bit the bullet. I had some amazon reward points, so that's why I went there instead of somewhere else.. Not the full setup, but should make life more interesting ;)

I don't remember where I found it, but there was something I read awhile back that Armor All actually causes your tires to end up in a worse condition putting this stuff on than if you would have done nothing at all. Basically the stuff they put in it is just like the stuff that they use for their interior spray which creates a greenhouse type effect (Lets heat/energy in but not out) and will brittle/dry out anything you use it on very quickly.

It was actually so bad that it started melting my ex's dash. I can't imagine (If this is still the case and I imagine it still is) that it's very good for your tires as that would make them more slick and cause them to deteriorate quicker than normal.

If i could recommend an alternative, Opti-bond Tire Gel and PoorBoys Tire Dressing Gel are great products that will do nothing of the aforementioned. But this is all just opinion/recommendation based on what i've read and witnessed

Leather cleaner: Chemical guys i think this stuff. You dilute it down a whole lot and it lasts FOREVER.

Interior cleaner: Meg's APC. You can dilute it to different concentrations for a variety of surfaces.

Gauges: Same as interior

Carpets: I got a stiff brush from<parts store> and use that with a vacuum.

Exterior wash: I use some old CG citrus wash clear that i have laying around, but you can't go wrong with anything made for a car (NO DAWN SOAP THAT SHIT STRIPS YOUR PAINT)

Exterior wax: CG XXX is cheap and good. I use Zymol Glasur because I had amazon money available and decided to splurge. Don't use a liquid wax. You should use a sealant before you wax, but after you clay. It wil last longer than any wax can. You can also seal your windows and it will cause water to bead off. I dont use my wipers almost at all.

Tires: this, dilute 1:1 and put in a spray bottle. Use with an applicator.

Wheels: Use a FRESH 2 BUCKETS BOTH WITH GRIT GUARDS! I like raceglaze (or similar) brushes for the faces, and some wheel woolies for the barrels. Seal your wheels with sealant when they're clean. Won't last as long as on paint because of the heat though.

Next time you get glass cleaner, get something else. I use some old cg glassworkz since it can be diluted to 25% or so. Lasts forever.

LMK if you have questions.

Oh and I currently have a Whistler CR90. Got it several years ago based on recommendations, and haven't regretted it. I dream of a Valentine 1, but that's a bit rich for my taste. The CR90 can be configured to tone down some (but not all) of the K Band noise. Not sure what's the best out there now, in each price range. I'm also curious. https://www.amazon.com/Whistler-CR90-Performance-Detector-Internal/dp/B00DNJU61S

I put in a LUK in mine as a daily about 4 months ago and it feels quite nice.

It softened the clutch a little bit, but otherwise, it's a pretty great replacement, especially because the kit has all you need and it is at a very reasonable price (in comparison to every other replacement clutch out there).

I bought this one on amazon

Grats man.....welcome to the club! It was my dream car as soon as it was announced back in 2002. I was finally able to make it happen in 2004!

Which did you get? Someone linked to one on Amazon from Ford for $70 that unlocked the door twice when the battery got low... I think. One review said it did that. The seller's description was abysmally curt

This one? http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Ford-7L2Z-14A626-BA-Keyless-Keypad/dp/B00HB9K55S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1407691534&sr=8-2&keywords=ford+mustang+keyless+entry+keypad

Remember 10?-14 radios are for the most part identical. With almost any new vehicle the temp controls are mixed in with the stereo.

Your going to need everything you would normally need for a stereo install. Wire harness, Antenna adaptor, ect.

If you have sync and want to continue to use the wheel controls, ect you will need this.
