I mean, it's within a couple degrees of others tested and that's in the stock configuration. When they added good fans it was right in line, especially with an added top fan (which is supposed to be stock but I guess GN didn't get one just like the pre-orders). It seems like the numbers in their graphs don't really match the super negative tone, or they're mostly just pissed off about the MSRP.

Personally I don't have any thermal issues with mine. My only real complaint is the stock rear fan is totally worthless garbage. It's loud as hell and it can't apparently run lower than like 40% or it just shuts off, so you can't get it to a low quiet RPM with some exhaust flow. NZXT should be ashamed of this fan.

I replaced the rear 120 and added a 140 to the top, with the Arctic value fans (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HCKWF2X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which I'm super impressed by. The AER RGB fans in the front aren't the best but are quiet enough at ~800rpm. I'm able to get a pretty quiet system with good air flow with this configuration, whether idle or at load. CPU and GPU temps stay perfectly in line with expectations, same for MB and SB temps. For reference I'm running an R5 3600 with a Prism cooler and an MSI 2070 Super Tri X whatever.

Yes. So I just discovered the difference between 12v and 5v rgb setups. I bought an 12v RGB AIO which will clearly not work with the Hue+. I like the AIO and don't want to spend an additional $50 for the ARGB version which is 5v so I bought the Cooler Master 12v RGB controller to support the AIO I bought. So my question has now changed.

If I buy the Deep Cool RGB converter to go from 12v to 5v, can I use the NZXT led strips on the converter and just ditch the Hue+ controller?

Below are the parts I currently have (excluding the Hue+)

This is the 12v to 5v converter I was looking at:

https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Gaming-Black-Extender-AC-053-CN1OTN-C1/dp/B06Y5YNGDJ look at the reviews and pictures. I think brackets would ruin the look. Trust me. Watch reviews with this specific cable it’s really good. My friend uses it on his h500i and it’s amazing

I also made a acrylic outer border to hold it in place.

It is powered through micro usb and hdmi for video.

This HDMI cable worked perfectly, didn't have to mod the case to get to the graphics card.

here's the power i used-

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MUJJVOG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

3ft gave me enough slack to work in the H700i.

P.S. Also if you have a NZXT usb header hub installed already, it's perfect for the to keep the power cable in case. One less cable sticking out the back.

That's really comforting to hear. Glad that they seem to be among the better pre-built companies. Also what monitor do you use? I have a really old ASUS 21", and I just ordered this guy:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GD7H18F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Might not be the best of the best but it seems solid. For now I'm trying a Radeon RX 580 card + that to revive my current rig, but I can see using that monitor and my old one on your rig or something similar.

I ordered these from Amazon... https://www.amazon.com/Asiahorse-Customization-Sleeve-Extension-Supply/dp/B07C735N9C

I'm very happy with the results, I can't stop looking at my build haha

This will be your best bet. I have seen cheaper converters, where you can change the gen 2 connection to gen1, but no splitters where you can use both.

There might be 3.1 splitters, then you attach an adapter to the one end of the regular splitter. But at that point you'll be getting pretty close to the price of just getting the pcie card. Also with the pcie card you can actually take advantage of the gen2 speeds, for only about $10 more after getting a bunch of adapters/splitters.

Something like this should work for the USB connection (you can also use a standard micro-USB to USB type-A cable and route it to your rear IO). The SATA/fan connectors are together on the same cable and is something you'll have to get from NZXT directly. Open a ticket on the support site, and might as well just ask for both the cables.

Yes. Mine were also the 30mm screws so both x72 and x52 have the same size. Below is the link where I actually bought extra 30mm to do the push/pull method. They only give you enough to do one or the other. They work great for mine.

It seems they are out of stock everywhere. I've come across multiple Q and As that say any 1080 or 1080Ti with the reference PCB is compatible with this Hybrid Kit, although I'm not sure (listed for 1080Ti): https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Hybrid-Waterblock-Cooler-400-HY-5598-B1/dp/B074CPP2TS?th=1

I have this exact model of a 1080: 08G-P4-6283-KB

My card seems to be a Best Buy exclusive, so there are close to no details on EVGA's site of my exact card, although I am 99% my card has the reference PCB. I just need to find out if this hybrid kit is compatible with my card, or look for one that is, that is also in stock and actively sold.

They're unavailable now, but it's jot like they're brand specific. Any sinks with the same measurements should be fine.

This is the display used:

Eyoyo 5 inch Small Mini Monitor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B8JNKT3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This is the USB to HDMI adapter I used because if connected to the GPU it won’t allow different refresh rates and is locked:

USB to HDMI Adapter, USB 3.0 to... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F37JXSJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The setup was easy, I painted the metal housing of the display white to match my build. I then removed the 2 bottom pcie covers and ran the hdmi and usb power cables to the usb to hdmi connector and the usb power to the always on port on the motherboards io.

I then setup Aida64 SensorPanel to match the resolution of the internal display and went to the Aida64 forums and downloaded a SensorPanel config file. I changed the colors of the sensors and the wallpaper of the background.

Done.

USB: https://www.amazon.com/micro-Female-header-motherboard-cable/dp/B013HTXAOS

Molex to DC 5V: https://www.ebay.com/i/122268391081?chn=ps&dispItem=1

The connection cable that connects the Hue+ to the LED strips would be hard to find, so idk. Also, these are just examples of what you need to buy, I would recommend looking into it further.

u/Talks_To_Cats · 2 pointsr/NZXT

> I have these items, kraken x72,

The Kraken x72 should come with 12 6-32x30mm screws, 12 6-32x5mm screws, and 24 washers. As long as you bought it new you shouldn't need to buy anything else.

If you ever need more hardware, pretty much all standard AIOs and all standard fans will use the same stuff:6-32 30mm screws and no.6 washers.

You can get a PCIe card. I have that case and card and I'm able to use usb-c.

The H510i comes with this connector for the USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C front panel port, correct?

To connect that to your motherboard you need a header that looks like this.

Your motherboard doesn't have that header. According to the MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi manual (PDF warning) you only have two USB 2.0 headers and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers.

USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C headers are actually still very rare on motherboards, so it's kind of annoying that the Hx10i series cases all have one.

To use the front Type-C port on your mobo you'd need one of these:

  • This Lian Li PW-INC1TR USB 3.0 to USB 3.1 Converter plugged into one of your USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers. It's relatively expensive because it's an active converter. There's some digital processing that it needs to do to convert the signal. Note that I'm not 100% sure that it will work plugged into your 3.2 Gen 1 headers, since it's designed to work in 3.0 headers, but it should theoretically work because USB is backwards-compatible.

  • The other option if you don't want to use up one of the available mobo headers is this SilverStone Technology USB 3.1 Gen 2 Internal 20Pin Connector Type-C Port Header to PCIe Gen 3.0 X2. But the trade off for this one is it will take up some PCI lanes. (not a big deal if you're only running one GPU or other PCI devices that need a lot of speed)
