Yeah, him and Gerry Duggan, the last volume of the comics - the one with the Zombie Presidents. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend you do. It's a fantastic series that solidifies Deadpool as a true hero and a real, sympathetic character rather than just some living meme.

Here's a link to the Trade Paperback Edition. It's what made Deadpool my favourite Superhero above Batman.

It's also fucking hilarious.

It really is a modern classic. I remember dragging my parents to the theater to see it when it came out, and I still love it just as much. That love will be passed down to my little one when she's old enough to appreciate it.

Also, this is an awesome album I'm sure you'd appreciate if you don't already have it.

> However, in June, MGM announced that due to the studio’s financial difficulties, it was shelving Cabin indefinitely.

From his biography. After the bankruptcy, it did end up in limbo till it was bought by lions gate.

> At least MGM’s issues came after shooting was done and the film was in good shape. Goddard and Joss were frustrated, but they found a little consolation in the idea that if Cabin never saw the light of day through proper channels, they could always leak it.

So it was in a good enough shape that he felt it was still good enough to release, as in pretty much finished.

> But they discovered that Lionsgate truly cared about Cabin, which in turn helped them believe in it again, and reignited the vision and enthusiasm they’d been drained of.

So yes, it was lions gate who got the movie to the public. I don't see how I'm 1000% wrong.

All quotes are from his biography, where there were extensive interviews from joss himself and most of the people he's worked with.

ETA: Read the biography if you want more info.

I can't deny that it's a pleasure to watch Hugh Laurie act like an asshole. Just as an aside, he has also authored a truly excellent and hilarious spy novel called The Gun Seller that you should check out if you enjoy reading.

One of my favorite animated movies. Folks who enjoy this might also enjoy Thomas Cahill's How the Irish Saved Civilization which explores the impact of Irish monastic traditions on the preservation of knowledge through the dark ages. You also get some cool background on St Patrick and his struggle with the cult of Crom Cruach a prominently featured character in The Secret of Kells.

Mississippi Grind is a fantastic gambling movie! Not a hesit movie but if you like casino/gambling movies you will probably like this one as well... it does get pretty heavy at times.

Also, it's on Amazon Prime streaming as well;

This movie is.....bananas. It starts out safe enough with a lot of really interesting concepts and conspiracies but by the second movie we are talking lizard people. This movie has a lot of opinion presented as fact. If you are a conspiracy enthusiast mainly for the entertainment of it all, then this movie is pretty fun in a tin foil hat kind of way. If you are gullible or looking for real answers GO ELSEWHERE because this movie will send you down a lizard people/psychic vampire/4th dimension alien rabbit hole.

EDIT - If you are into these type of government/illuminati conspiracies, I suggest looking up Michael Ruppert or his book Crossing The Rubicon https://www.amazon.com/Crossing-Rubicon-Decline-American-Empire/dp/0865715408 The man became increasingly unhinged as he aged but he was a good investigative reporter.

The Amory Wars! I'd recommend just skipping Second Stage Turbine Blade and starting with In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3. The SSTB story is kind of all over the place and Claudio was writing it alone, and that comic series suffers from that. IKS is a great jump up in quality, and a fine starting point for the rest of the series. It's a great companion piece to the album too. Follow that up with Good Apollo, which is even better - they just finished publishing that series a few months ago, and it's absolutely bonkers in the best possible way.

I can't think of movies to suggest right now but If you haven't seen it already I highly recommend Amazon's pilot episode of The Man in the High Castle. The only downside is that there won't be any other episodes for a year. I think you'll really enjoy it though.

>Based on Philip K. Dick's award-winning novel, and executive produced by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner), The Man in the High Castle explores what it would be like if the Allied Powers had lost WWII, and Japan and Germany ruled the United States.

I know you are looking for a show but I think you might find value in this:

https://www.amazon.com/Sunstone-1-Tp-Stjepan-Sejic/dp/1632152126

It is a comic but the art is great and the characters feel like real people.

There is actually a much richer story behind Akroyd and how the Blues Brothers got started .

Also if you were a fan of the movie (I can't get enough of it) I recommend checking out the Blues Brothers album Briefcase Full Of Blues. It's awesome!!

WD TV Live is a pretty awesome little machine. Netflix app runs just as good as anything I've seen, wireless capabilities, hulu, youtube, pandora, and can play basically any video format via the usb hub for $90.

If your kid likes the Underdog movie, you may want to check out the original cartoon. Amazon Prime has The Ultimate Collection for $14.99, or $1.99 an episode. It was one of my favorite shows when I was little, & it's DEFINITELY better than the movie.

This might be Tarantino's best movie. If you only watched it once, watch it again. The first time through, it feels very plot driven, but on second watch you can really savor the characters.

Edit: The book it's based on is pretty good too.

u/JesusRollerBlading · 2 pointsr/NetflixBestOf

That's a fact. A greatly put together show, ft. some of my favorite actors, including a totally unrecognizable David Selby, one of many of my favorites from the 1 season tour de force TELL ME YOU LOVE ME.

Check it out on the Zon

You enjoyed the movie? I loved the book and the movie does very little for me. I'm probably alone on that though.

If you liked it check out the book No One Would Listen. It's amazing. https://www.amazon.com/No-One-Would-Listen-Financial/dp/1455819131

I watch a lot of movies. Sometimes I'll watch them on my lunch break at work (especially when my boss leaves early for the day). Today I watched a fairly short documentary called 65 Redroses about a young women named Eva who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and is waiting for a lung transplant. It's an absolutely fantastic documentary and shows just one story of why each and every one of us should be an organ donor. If you subscribe to Netflix, please check out [the movie] (http://nflx.it/1wg3XCc). It's just over an hour long. If you don't, you can find it on amazon

Here's a trailer

Also, please consider registering in your state to be an organ donor. Lastly, there are many families that deal with Cystic Fibrosis, a close friend included. A lot of people have no idea what it is and what it means to live with it. Please also consider going to http://www.cff.org/ to learn more about it and donate if you can. It's a very worthwhile cause.

Some Russian Guy

It, and the following series, is definitely worth reading. The movie is basically based on the first of three stories in the first book, also called Night Watch.

There are four books in total, and it's an absolutely fascinating modern fantasy story. I loved it and I'm not normally a fan of stories with vampires/magicians/werewolves/etc.

Patriot on Amazon Prime

It's quite good with depth & nuance. Your list suggests that you like immersion storytelling.

u/baconsea · 4 pointsr/NetflixBestOf

Patriot on Amazon is a great underrated comedy/satire

I will question that. I have a Roku and wouldn't trade it for anything. Roku also has Amazon Instant. I can stream in 1080p AND as an added bonus (which I would pay another $100 for) I don't have to dick around with iTunes.

edit: Roku XD
