But I do recommend the Kong doughnut--type cone Much easier for them to eat and maneuver - plus makes a sweet pillow!

My male is similar to your girl. We had some difficulties with harnesses due to his giant head and small body type. I like this one though. it slips over the head and then you have a clip on either side of the chest/ waist. There's a ring on the chest and on his back for a leash. I prefer the full chest harnesses like this one than the single strap around the chest.

Found this at Tractor Supply and its lasted about 8 months so far starting when our pup was 4 months until today. One of the end knots finally broke loose the other day, but its still holding strong.
That's a reasonable distance as long as your newf doesn't have a history of arthritis or dysplasia. I took mine on a 2 mile loop last month in Florida heat and he was bounding up and down 10ft embankments without any care. Fun historical fact: Lewis and Clark had a Newf
that they took with them to the Pacific and he made it the entire way.
If you're looking for a pack, I recommend the Ruffwear Approach. I got one last year and you can fit an entire 1-gallon jug on each side.

My newfie eats Natural Balance's large breed food. She's not really a big eater - probably something like 4 cups a day (I just refill her bowl when it runs out). She's about a year and a half old, and ninety pounds.
Judging by the picture...you're going to want to order one of these It didnt take mine long to realize if he pawed at the bowl it would spill and create his own personal lake in the kitchen... about 5 times a day. :P

My pupper had to have his entire head shaved when a small cut turned into a vicious infected rash, you would never know looking at him now but he was Friar Tuck for a few months, poor guy!
