I've got 4 cases I rotate on my Nexus 6P, the first case I got turns out to be the best , feels good, looks good, nice grip,

RINGKE FUSION Smoke Black

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B006LPWJQG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1463039118&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=6p+ringke+smoke&dpPl=1&dpID=51mrrdb1v%2BL&ref=plSrch

Must have case for all Nexus 6P , you won't regret it,

Next up is the Cover Up Woodback Explorer, Gold Lightning Bolt..... As soon as I saw the black wood finish with the gold Lightning Bolt I wanted it, very easy to fit, light weight and nice grip on the edges, looks real classy

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01AAFF54U/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1463039302&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=Nexus+6p+cover+up+wood&dpPl=1&dpID=51Aa3Th3s1L&ref=plSrch

Third is the Frost Black Supcase Unicorn Beetle.....probably the most heavy duty of the 4 I have, feels real heavy , chunky, dense, tough , looks OK , not as slick as the Ringke, and the main negative for me is how hard it is to take on and off, but for some that'll be a plus as you get a tight fit, becomes one with the phone , sure to protect your Nexus 6P.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B015X90UJS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1463039481&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=Nexus+6p+supcase&dpPl=1&dpID=51Ga2SN6oBL&ref=plSrch

Finally a case I want to love but the texture just doesn't quite give me as much grip as I wanted, it looks good, so easy to fit , the Spigen Rugged Armour......it's OK, nowhere near as much protection as the Supcase, least grip of the 4 I have, but it's a good no thrills solid case without being great.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B016CBFBVI/ref=pd_aw_sbs_1?pi=SL500_SS115

So there it is , seriously if you don't have the Ringke Fusion you must get it immediately, winner all the way at a great price, the Cover Up Wood back is a comfortable 2nd , really looks amazing but is over twice the price of the other 3 in my top four, the Supcase is the brute of the 4 and finally the fairly drab Spigen Rugged Armour.

Screen protector, yes, I use just the regular ones from best buy, but I would prefer tempered glass. Much more protective. Brother dropped his phone hard and the glass protected the screen from shattering.

I don't own a google store case, but the live cases are pretty popular if you want one custom to you. I really like the design of the Adopted Nexus 6P case on the google store too.

I use the Spigen Rugged Armor, which IMO is the best looking case you can get. If I had any other option for a case though, I'd probably get any really clear thin one and get a Dbrand skin

There isn't any bundles with the 6P that I'm aware of, but regarding your last two questions a simple search on Amazon or Ebay should help you. Just make sure when you're buying USB A to USB C cables, adapters, car chargers, etc. that they're up to USB Spec. Here is a google spreadsheet where you can see nearly all cables and adapters that have been reviewed by Benson. Avoid the ones that aren't approved like the plague and try to buy the ones that are approved for minimum risk of burning down your house/frying your phone.

Other than that I feel you'll find the transition from an Apple device to a Nexus fairly easy, as Nexus provides you with a stock and easy to use Android compared to most other Android flagships.

u/IgnoreMyName · 46 pointsr/Nexus6P

100th time I'm recommending this now, Spigen Rugged Armor. Unless you want a briefcase for a case, this is the best case out there imo.

I ordered mine the same day I ordered my phone and couldn't be happier with it, cousin has it too. Looks great, comfortable to hold, power and volume buttons effortless to press, proper cutouts for everything, and phone has been fine dropping it from 5' multiple times (of course, not something you should get in the habit of).

Also recommend this screen protector to go with it as it fits well with the case. Honestly though, as great as the screen protector is, I would opt to go for a glare free screen protector next time. Still, this protector does it's job.

u/tc2k · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

You should, it's a great phone and I'm planning to keep it until the successor to the initial Pixel phones. Camera is great all around, HDR makes low light scenes great. The display is AMAZING, I use the multi-window option to do two tasks at once since the display is big enough. Updates will still be flowing in a couple more years and maybe a few more for security updates.

If you also decide to get a case without adding too much extra surface area, this Spigen thin-fit case IS AMAZING! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01761J26I/

u/WACOMalt · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I recommend the Spigen TPU case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016CBFBVI Its far thinner than the pictures make it look and its a perfect cut/fit 0 complaints.

If you want something hard: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01761J26I was a good one, also by spigen, but I wasnt a fan of the volume/power areas. Plenty of space and they work fine, but the plastic between them is higher than I'd expect and felt odd.

Do NOT get the Dgtle or Redshield cases. I ordered both and to my surprise they were the exact same case. Same mold and everything. The volume/power keys were terrible, and one of them was shipped to me with scratches on it. There's a plethora of random companies selling the same re-branded junk so keep your eyes open.

As for the glass I went with xtremeguard. They always have sales going on (like 50% to 90% off, check the top of the site to see the current one, but there's usually better ones going on if you follow them) which is good since they are normally very overpriced. But I got two of their spartan shield tempered glass protectors for $7. The cutouts include the proximity sensor and the edges are nice. The install went easy which I've never had happen. Currently their sale is at 75% which is pretty good.

I recently got both a battery pack and a car charger.

Anker Powercore+ 20100 mAh : This pack is huge in terms of capacity. The quality is great, and from what I can see the warranty/return policy is really good. I even got a follow-up email about a week after I received it to make sure the product was working properly. Supports rapid charging through the USB-C port.

Aukey Car Charger : I read that the Vinsic charger could cause problem with certain cars by draining battery from the phone back into the car when you turned off the car. I went with this charger instead. It supports rapid charging with USB C, has two extra ports for other devices, looks great and is well built. Would definitely recommend it.

I also bought 2 cables (C to C) to use with the pack and charger. I went with the Choetech USB-C Cables. No complaints there.

Hope this helped!

I love the phone's bare look but I love it too much to end up having it slip out of my pocket and into the street or tile floor.

Spigen makes some fantastic, good looking, slim cases for the 6P. A couple people have said that my phone looks better with the Rugged Armor case as supposed to without it. I feel no compromise in using a case.

Here's a link to the one I am talking about:

http://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Rugged-Resilient-Ultimate-protection/dp/B016CBFBVI/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1453056592&sr=1-1&keywords=spigen+6p+rugged

u/courageousrobot · 8 pointsr/Nexus6P

Don't be lazy, link it! Here, I'll do it for you.

In fact, I'll just link to one of the best tempered glass protectors (as agreed on in that thread and from personal use).

Also, I know you said w/o a case, but here's a really awesome slim case that adds barely nothing to the footprint and feels great in hand.

u/fromantis · 7 pointsr/Nexus6P

Personally, I enable sRGB mode in the developer settings for less overly saturated colors.

I also recommend getting CameraNX. It makes the already great stock camera app even better with zero shutter lag HDR+. And seriously, the camera is great. Take lots of photos.

You probably want a case too. I've had this one for almost two years. My only complaint is the clear back has yellowed over time.

Above all, enjoy your new phone. I've had mine since December 2015 and never had a single problem with it. It's been stock since then, and I did a factory reset for the first time last weekend just because I figured it was probably a good time, not because of any issues. Hopefully you have the same luck.

Also, as you've probably already noticed, there are a lot of salty, shitty people on this sub. Don't take it personally. They just love to complain.

u/IDK2012 · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I'm using the Spigen Rugged Armor (http://amzn.com/B016CBFBVI) and it really is a nice case. I haven't put it to the test yet but after putting the 6P into it I do know I felt a lot more comfortable with where I lay the device and so on. That said the rhino shield bundle setup Evolutive Labs is coming out with looks like a for sure winner. I even placed an order for their full bundle but it's going to be January sometime before it's even suppose to be out. So till then I'll gladly sport Spigen's case. I might even pick up their screen protector. They have a tempered glass one out now (http://amzn.com/B016CBF5VO)

u/Ausvego · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I bought both of these cases myself, actually. I didn't like the Rugged Armor case, the hole on the back is very small, with steep edges, which makes the angle your finger has to be at to unlock the phone rather unnatural, and hard to reach. I really liked the SUPCASE, the hole on the back is really big, so very easy to unlock, and it's good protection for the phone, as well as the clear back looking nice. It does add a bit of bulk to the phone, so I have opted for another one, a different Spigen case, which is on my phone now. It's a lot better than the rugged armor one in terms of the fingerprint scanner, but still not as easy access as the Supcase. It is very low-profile, though, which isn't a huge amount of protection, but if you're like me, and rarely drop your phone, it's good, and looks nice. If I'm traveling, or in a situation where my phone might be used a little more roughly, I would definitely prefer the Supcase over anything else.

u/cobijah · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

I recently got the Diztronic Voyeur case that recently got back in stock on Amazon with a new revision. I like the case because it's partially clear in the back where the Nexus logo is but this part isn't TPU so it won't turn yellow. I also think it's a good thickness as well (thick enough to provide some fall protection but thin enough to be pocketable and light). Buttons are still clicky with the case on but still require intentional clicking so it's pretty good about not turning on in your pocket. Overall, great case for the price.

EDIT: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0198W4B3M

u/ChochiWpg · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I'm using this one and really like it. Clear so it doesn't cover up the natural beauty of the device. It's not bulky, buttons are very clicky and easy to use and comes with a screen protector as well. I really enjoy it.

u/rawringbear · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

Awesome! You'll love it.
Would recommend a case. I really like this one from spigen: Nexus 6P Case, Spigen [Rugged Armor] Resilient [Black] Rugged Armor Ultimate protection and rugged design with matte finish for Nexus 6P (2015) - Black (SGP11797) ... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016CBFBVI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oSAvxbVXHMAAB
It's slim and very durable.

I'd also recommend some extra cables. The yoozon are excellent and come in 3 pack of usb-c to USB
Type C Cable, Yoozon® 6.6ft/2m 56k ohm pull-up resistor USB Type C to Type A (USB-C to USB-A) Cable for LG G5, Nexus 6P,Nexus 5X and Other Type-C Supported Devices https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017G8IRQM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_VUAvxb0S60JQ5

Finally. Personally I'd also recommend a tempered glass screen protector.

There are some other cool accessories to look at for VR and stuff, but that depends on your hobbies.

Happy droiding!

  1. Bought it a few days ago, received today.

  2. I bought it from Amazon here

  3. I used the tools that came with it, plus an exacto knife, playing cards, and a hairdryer.

  4. The only minor issue is that I bent the plastic piece at the bottom pulling it off while the glue was still pretty tight. I wish I had taken a little more time and been more careful. It would have been easier if I had a chisel exacto knife instead of a standard - with a standard exacto knife, I had to push down at an angle to get the blade flat to the edge, and it took a while to figure out just how far to push down. Also, I kept accidentally turning on the phone, which didn't seem to cause a problem, but freaked me out.

  5. So far, battery life looks to be about 4 hours of SOT from 1, which seems good. In hindsight, the battery manufacturer recommended leaving the phone off and charging for 12 hours, so maybe I should have done that.

  6. NA.

  7. Other tips - Take your time and it's not that bad. Watch a video until you have a fairly good idea where the display cable is under the battery, so you can stay away from it while getting the battery out.

  8. Not sure if it has a temperature monitor, but probably not.

  9. The replacement cable matches the narrow photo in the OP link, although I thought looked just like the one in my phone. It fit fine but not perfectly, so there was a little tiny bit of slack when I put the phone together.

  • Orzly are based in the UK and sell on Amazon (next day delivery with prime). I have one of these on my fathers Nexus 9 and would definitely recommend them, good fit and the oleophobic coating resists fingerprints well - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016ONT0RK

  • Intelliarmour are getting a lot of good feedback. They they don't have any stockists in the UK so you have to wait/pay for delivery but that being said - they're currently doing a 2 pack for 12.95USD & when coupled with their "intelli6p" coupon, means you can get 4 (2x2packs) for around £13 (gbp) delivered to the UK - http://www.intelliarmor.com/intelliglass-nexus-6p-the-smarter-real-glass-screen-protector.html

  • Spigen also do a TGSP but they don't provide an edge-to-edge version - I actually cancelled my pre-order as they changed the design without letting anyone know. I really wouldn't recommend this due to the fact that this will probably begin lifting off of the screen easily, and the fact that parts of the screen are still susceptible to damage - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016CBF5VO/

  • Ringke - I've never used their TGSP's but their cases are great so I don't see why their other products would be any different - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006MMHBNY/

  • Casebase - I have also never used these, but have heard good things on XDA - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016Y6RPR4/

    Hope this helps!
u/ornryactor · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I'm pretty minimalist in my preferences (and, more importantly, don't have access to a good printer). As an illustration, my regular case is the Spigen Rugged Armor. If I do get the Ringke Fusion, I'm sure I'll just use it as-is, put the adapter on it, and learn to not be bothered by it. In the end, a slightly-less-than-preferable case on a securely-attached phone is better than an ideal case on a smashed-to-bits phone.

u/lorwrin · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

For me it's pretty slippery so a case was necessary. I got this case and it's perfect: still super thin with barely any bulk and it feels nice in the hand.

I went with the slate/black colour and it never ceases to amaze me with its sleek design!

u/BenderB · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

2 best cases, in my opinion, are the Spigen Rugged Armor and the Spigen Thin Fit. They both fit perfectly (even with a screen protector) and look and feel great. Just depends on the amount of bulk/protection you want.

u/Nafoon · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I got the Spigen Neo Hybrid Ex a few months ago. For me it was the best balance of showing off the phone, protection, and comfort. The buttons are super easy to press, too. I have an intelliglass HD screen protector as well. Coming from an LG G2 where the oleophobic coating wore off after 4 months, this thing is still smooth after 7-8 months. I've never used a TGSP before this though so that might be common with any brand.

u/lexbuck · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I love this phone personally. For the first couple months it had some lag, camera, and battery issues but those seem to new fixed with recent updates. I came from an iPhone 5s and was nervous as I hadn't used Android for a while and last experience wasn't that great. But this phone is great I think and I actually like it better than any phone I've had.

This is the case I have and I really like it. Didn't add bulk https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016CBFBVI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_qHmxxbWNGBNH0

u/ihaxr · 0 pointsr/Nexus6P

This one is pretty close: https://www.amazon.com/Affinity-Premium-protection-material-Protective/dp/B015P62CBI

Personally I'm a huge fan of how minimal and aesthetically pleasing the Google Live Cases are. They also offer pretty good drop protection.

u/Deep4569 · 6 pointsr/Nexus6P

If you want a good case just get the carbon fiber spigen case from Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B016CBFBVI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OMdzCb67XW8Z5

I have had this case for about 2 years now and have dropped my phone more times than I'd like to admit and have no dents/scratches on the phone screen. As for a screen protector just get any tempered glass protector. The 6p is such a nice phone hope you'll enjoy it, I just changed the battery recently and probably going to keep this phone till it officially gives out.

u/Luomulanren · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I currently use a soft clear case and I like it. My general preference is to use something that hides the device as little as possible. I used to go completely naked when I was younger but now I'm older and have kids, I'd rather be safe than sorry. In fact, I've already dropped the 6P once and bumped it against hard surfaces a dozen of times and thanks to the case, it's not damaged at all.

I don't know if that's necessary the BEST look for the Gold 6P, but I did try the frost Adopted case I got for my wife's Frost 6P and it did not look nearly as good on the Gold as it does on the Frost. IMHO, the frost Adopted case makes the Gold too muted and washed out.

u/PrinceMeatloaf · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

I have This screen protector and it's amazing. Also this case fits it perfectly and looks great!

u/AJ_M · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Hey, welcome to Fi! I got my sim chip, but I have to wait until Feb. 22 to switch over because I'm still on contract. I'll join you soon though ;)

There is a great thread about a modular stand. Also, I just bought this case, it's on a 70% discount right now.

Have done hours of testing now.

Max amps recorded to a 6P has been 2880mAh. So far this has been the best of the chargers I've tested for the Type-C phones.

I'm was originally concerned with its output consistency, but it does charge at rates comparable to the stock charger and throttles appropriately.

The cable itself is very thin compared to the official cable, but doesn't feel poorly made.

The device itself is very nice, with chamfered edges, and a chrome bevel. There is a tiny white LED as well. It's not annoying.

This definitely beats out the "red chargers", even the Vinsic that Benson reviewed. I have tested that one as well and it cannot handle two devices, nor can it match this chargers consistency.

u/JonnyLH · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

Looks like a very flimsy and thin case. Would it protect the phone if it was dropped in a potentially screen shattering fall?

I purchased this clear case from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B016CBF3DE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Fits like a glove, solid plastic, quite thick but not too thick, and has already protected it. Definitely recommend. Unfortunately, I don't have a camera to take a picture of my camera.

u/Oh_helloooo · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I've had this one on for a few months after having the same Spigen problem. The clear back has developed a few small scratches that you'll notice if you look close, though. If that bothers you, I think they have a version that's solid throughout. Buttons aren't cut out but never give me a problem. Great option for the price. Hopefully you can still find it elsewhere.

Edit: The solid option

u/typhon99 · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

Update:

I ended up buying the YISHDA Battery off amazon (as recommended bu u/PoetmasterGrunthos) and just finished installing it following this Ifixit guide. Currently the phone says it's fast charging with 1 hr 40 min until full.

I did not buy or need replacement back parts and used a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive. I was very liberal with the hair dryers use around the back glass and continued applying heat while slowly pulling it off. When re-applying the bottom plastic cover due to the way my phone is dented a little I put curved edges in first and then pressed the center down to get everything to fit.I managed to bend back the other small (but noticeable to me) dent near the volume button's with a combination of pressing down on it and gentle hammering.

I would have included pictures however the 6P is my camera. Overall I can't say it feels like a new phone yet, however it certainly seems like it's charging to it's full capacity. I will update again sometime in the future with longer term results of this battery's life, but for the moment I am happy and can say the procedure is not too difficult.

I've loved the Spigen Glas.tR SLIM screen protector. https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Tempered-Glass-Cutout-Proximity-Easy-Install/dp/B016CBF5VO It has a bevel on the edge and is case friendly, and has all if the cutouts. Absolutely love this, no complaints, especially at that price.

u/oshinX · -2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Ok I have this J&D Case it's super slim and is more for small drops and cause this phone is super slippery. There is also this Spigen Rugged Case it's more protective without being super bulky. This Supcase Heavy Duty is even more protective. But the most protective case I could find on Amazon that didn't have bad reviews/none was this beauty.

u/TrevorX5J9 · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Check out either the Spigen Rugged Armor or the Unicorn Beetle Pro. The first one is more of a slim/sleek option and the second is more akin to an Otterbox. I own both and I prefer the Unicorn mostly because I'm clumsy and it'll protect from drops. It's a fair amount thicker than the Rugged Armor however. As for glass screen protectors, check out the Spigen Glass Screen protector. It's a perfect fit and I've had my screen saved once by it. Smooth to the touch as it should be.

I can't believe how many people are still bashing the Nexus 6P in this thread, if you have moved on from the phone please unsubscribe from the sub. Wow.

I really like this screen protector because of the way it goes on. Instead of lining up the bottom, or using the hinge method, there are tabs at the top and bottom and you line the entire thing up and drop it down all at once. It's the easiest I've ever put on by a wide margin. They also have great support. My first one had a chip in it out of the box and they had a new one in the mail for me within an hour of emailing them on a Saturday.

All I wish was for it to be a little less slippery. I have mine in a case so it's fine, but I pull it out once in a while to clean out the dust (and to marvel at it's beauty). Every time I do I'm sure it's going to launch itself across the room and end up embedded in the wall.

u/MrChow13 · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I have the same metal plate on my 6p and use this case with the magnet between the case and the phone. It may lose some of its strength but I use the mount in my car daily as well and it has never once fallen off even after abrupt turns and braking so clearly still has enough strength to securely hold the phone. Plus the metal plate is entirely invisible.

I am completely confused by AC Chargers. I have looked at the spreadsheet (not updated since 2015) that has links to Benson's reviews, I've checked this site: https://usbccompliant.com/ , and I've read a bunch of reviews on Benson's Google+ page, but I still don't get it. Seems like 99% of reviews are for USB C to USB A cables which I have no use for, and it is impossible to dig through them to find the less than handful of charger reviews.

I want a USB C charger capable of rapid charging that is not going to destroy my phone, but everything I read seems to have conflicting information. First someone says as long as it is USB C it is fine, then no, it's not fine because it has Quickcharge over USB C which is not spec compliant, people say it 'charges rapidly' then someone else says it doesn't... I see something through links/reviews on Amazon.com that is apparently a suitable alternative to the Google charger, but then big surprise, it's not available on Amazon.ca

I didn't want to pay so much for the Google chargers, but at this point I may as well have...

So what is going on, are either of these spec compliant, rapid charge capable over USB C, and not going to destroy my phone?

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B019FCIOI8/ :edit: nevermind, this one is apparently NOT good because it has QC over USB C

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B017I7EX46

I would have thought AC chargers would be something that people were commonly looking for, why is this info so hard to find?

Thanks

TLDR: Minimal case made of quality TPU, multiple horrendous drops and still in pristine condition. Give it a go, if not you can always return it.

I've been using a Diztronic case, it's pretty minimal, photos don't do it justice. Been using the same case since I got the phone in Nov.2016. I've dropped the phone many times, haven't broken it yet. It also provides a lip if you will for the front so you can put your phone face down if you wanted. Also the buttons are covered but they are easy to push and not mushy at all, you still get good tactile feedback.

Also I'm not sure why but every other TPU case I've seen usually feels cheap and grainy or its smooth glossy plastic which makes it feel even cheaper. Diztronic does a good job of making dense matte TPU.

Personally if there was any doubt about a product that will power your entertainment device on a trip, I'd get a highly recommended portable battery bank instead. You have Aukey, Anker, Amazon Basics, or EasyAcc (my personal favorite, last two products from them still really good almost a year later).

I have the 10,000 mAh one, but this one looks better tbh. Has 20Ah and 4.8A output.

However if you don't wanna have a converter cable as well as a normal type-C on you, get this Anker one.

I had ordered the graphite from Best Buy last fall. It turned up unavailable, so I went with aluminum. I'm glad I got it. The look is very elegant. I use this bumper case to show it off while protecting it.

I do use a case. I use the spigen ultra clear. I think it's their thinnest model. I hate cases, but this phone is just too Slippery for one hand use without a case.

Here's the one I have.

I use a Spigen Thin Fit case which is close enoguh to the natural profile that a DBrand Skin fits over it perfectly.

I use a black carbon skin with red carbon text and camera inlay. Looks fucking amazing, adds very little to the size of the phone and adds a basic protective value.

Check out the skins and see if there's one you like. Another bonus is you can get multiple cases and multiple skins and swap them with minimal effort.

Also if you're into wood grain Toast has some nice looking stuff, but you'd need to put that on the phone it's self since it wraps.

u/thehistorybeard · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I have a Spigen TGSP that I love. My buddy has the Intellliarmor and it's very nice too. Both are very fingerprint resistant, easy to apply, and both have been able to handle all the cases we've tried - Spigen Rugged Armor, Diztronic TPU, Spigen bumper case, and the official Adopted case.

u/mattmonkey24 · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

This one is from Ravpower, which is a pretty good brand from my experience. It works really well for me and will even let me charge the battery and charge my phone off of the battery simultaneously which I haven't seen and makes it easy for traveling since I only need 1 outlet.

https://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Certified-RAVPower-20100mAh-Portable/dp/B019IFIJW8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468082102&sr=8-1&keywords=ravpower+20100

u/Punkamonk · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I use the Orzly TGSP with the same Spigen Rugged Armor case. I put it on in a lightly steamy bathroom after air dusting out the case and putting it on with the case on. It almost fits perfectly inside the bounds of the case, you just need to make sure there isn't any dust on the inside rim of the case that will get under the glass. The oleophopbic coating seems to be decent and the glass is insanely smooth. I'm extremely happy with the results.

u/rednaxela · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Just wanted to share some photos of my 2 cases. I've been using the Supcase since shortly after getting the phone and have been very happy with it. Since I purchased the Diztronic first and have not been using it, I took advantage of the black friday sales on dbrand to try to dress it up a bit. I'll be giving the D&d combo a test drive for a few days to see how it compares.

u/Radon_22 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I personally use this one: https://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Release-Unicorn-PremiumSlim-Protective/dp/B015X90UJS

It's great protection while still showing off the Nexus back. If you're looking for something a bit more minimalistic, check out:

u/notmyname1 · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I have an Intelliarmor TGSP and love it. I also own 3 cases:

  • The Adopted from the Google store. This is my favorite case overall. It's minimal, adds very little bulk, and has grippy sides.

  • Spigen Rugged Armor. People seem to love this case, but I just don't get it. It doesn't add any grip, so you still feel like you'll drop it. And the carbon fiber absurdity on the back is humiliating.

  • Supcase - This is not an attractive case, and it does add some extra bulk over the Adopted. However, it does feel a bit more protective. I actually dropped my phone from waist-height onto a tile floor and my phone escaped blemish-free. I was trying this out, and will likely leave this on for now.

NOTE: All 3 of these cases work great with the Intelliarmor TGSP.
u/KentuckyHouse · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Yes, the Diztronic will work with a screen protector. I have a glass screen protector on my 6P and the Diztronic works fine with it.

An alternative suggestion for a case would be the Spigen Rugged Armor. This is the one I use daily and it's basically the Diztronic with a bit more style on the back (the inlaid carbon fiber accents). This one also works perfectly fine with a screen protector.

bear motion is my personal favorite and my every day carry case. I like the grip it provides with the textured backing. Lacks top and bottom coverage though.

Spigen rugged armor I use this one if I feel I might benefit from a little more protection. But prefer bear motion for the slim and grippy feel. Also prefer the uncovered buttons on bear motion.

u/nautimike · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I'd recommend this diztronic case;

http://www.amazon.com/Nexus-Diztronic-Slim-Fit-Flexible-Huawei/dp/B017DU6GMK

It's very slim, fits perfect, and is pretty inexpensive.

u/Swarfega · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

A fitBAG (pouch) as I dislike cases. I am careful with my device but managed to drop it in the bag the other day when carrying too much stuff and scuffed the top corner where the phone is exposed. Gutted :(

I also have a Diztronic for times where taking it in and out the pouch is a hinderance such as at the gym or when my clumsy wife wants my phoen to take photos. It's a pretty decent minimalistic thin(ish) case to be honest.

I also have two (they sent my order twice) Rhino Shield Crashguard bumper cases. I couldn't get on with it as the bumper just makes the phone bulky. If someone in the UK wants to buy this unopened white case and screen protector I will be happy to sell it.

u/mstrhakr · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I've always used this one:

u/Korinu · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I just got Diztronic's Voyeur Case (availability seems to come and go) and I think it does the best job of preserving the phones looks. It's slim and has awesome buttons and the clear plastic back is actually really grippy. I feel a case is more necessary for grip than massive protection because this phone is ridiculously slippery.

u/sirpaul589 · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

I really like the Anker USB C power bank:
https://www.amazon.com//dp/B014ZO46LK/

Only downside is that you have to click the power button before using the USB C port to charge your phone, otherwise your phone will try to charge the battery pack.

Funny thing is the power bank can charge the 6P faster than the charger it came with. Love it!

u/CoolJumper · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

To bad Otterbox doesn't makes cases for Nexus phones. But if bulk and looks (which is subjective) aren't a worry, this seems to be up your alley.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015X9UR2S/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1457219041&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=nexus+6p+supcase+unicorn+beetle&dpPl=1&dpID=51t8C4EcwTL&ref=plSrch

This one also isn't bad, but like you mentioned I'm seeing more about the looks than anything else. I have it and personally I love it, but I can't speak for its ruggedness since I haven't really ever dropped my phone (with spending over $600 I'm incredibly protective of it).

I would recommend getting a Tempered Glass Screen Protector. I have this Spigen one and it's been great.

I'm still undecided on a case. I tried the Microfiber one from the Google store and it doesn't work well with a glass screen protector and the buttons were kinda mushy so I sent it back. I may just go naked with the screen protector since I have Nexus Protect.

Also, I'm a Dad of almost 2 year old twins so I can relate to your lack of free time.

u/xFIJI · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Headphones: Jaybirds. Sweat proof. Lifetime warranty on sweat. Great sound for the price. Perfect for gym or just casual. Wait for x3's. I got x2 they have problem with battery completely dying (atleast in my case), but the company always down to fix them. x3 coming out around October ("Fall") I think.

Case: Google live case, because swag and scratch protection. You can totally get cheaper/better (less swag) on Amazon. Spigen Rugged Armor comes in mind. Looks good but doesn't really protect the screen, you will need a bulky one for that.

Also check out the Techmatte mini to C adapters on amazon. They are tiny and just slip onto your normal chargers you're used to. They won't charge any faster or anything, but they are Benson approved and they are pretty grippy when they go on, so you shouldn't have to worry about it popping off.

Charged mine last night with an older blackberry blade AC charger and the adapter on it. Worked just fine, no heat up or anything.

1500mAh is only a 1.5A charge. That's standard for most battery packs, nothing great. My old Motorola P4000 charges at 1.5A.

This Anker 20,100mAh on Amazon is $79.99 (not Prime) and supports up to 2.4A on standard USB and 3A on Type-C.

Here's a similar Anker 20,100mAh one without Type-C for only $45.99 (Prime). It is limited to 2.4A like all standard USB ports though. It does come with the wall adapter too however.

There's also this 20,100mAh one from RavPower for $55.99 (Prime) that's the same capacity and 2.4A USB and 3A Type-C capability (except it also supports QuickCharge2.0)

Or this RavPower 26,800mAh behemoth for only $49.99 (Prime) without Type-C that will charge up to 2.4A via stadard USB.

i live in Germany so I don't know how much good these links are to you... these TGSPs are pretty decent:

u/Wildperson · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I'm a fan of this one. Fits perfectly, doesn't block any sensors, and lets me take screenshots. It's also absorbed a couple decent drops already (waist height). Only downside in my mind is that the corner of the charging hole digs into my pinkie finger given how I hold the phone.

I got a matte black diztronic tpu case, it fits very well and has all the correct cutouts. I really like it and it doesn't add much bulk. Check it out.. Hola desde Honduras,

I was at the same dilemma as you, so I just ordered these:

They fit perfectly with my Spigen Rugged.

You just need a A to C cable for file transfers to a PC, and a C to C cable for charging. You can use pretty much any C to C cable with good reviews, but you need to make sure the A to C cable is compliant. For chargers, some regular chargers may or may not be able to charge the 6P, but slowly. You should get one that can rapid charge at 5V/3A. Here is what I use.

Very careful with my devices, so I just went for the good ol' TPU bumper like I did on my M8. Friend of mine uses the Spigen. It's a couple dollars more than the Pleson TPU (I got the Pleson for $3 at the time) and the cut-out on the back for the print sensor is a little off but not that big of a deal.

This is the one I'm using, and I've loved it so far. It fills out the entire face of the phone with small cutouts where they need to be. I don't really know how to describe it, but the edges of the glass are rounded and not as sharp as I've seen on other phones, you won't cut yourself dragging your fingers across the cutouts. And I haven't had to put it to the test, but it's apparently got a lifetime warranty, which is cool.

u/campbellm · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Yeah, I used my same cable with a micro<->C converter and it works fine. Running Waze and Pocketcasts it kept the phone at 100% during a 8 hour drive recently.

(edit: these are what I have: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0151RKYBG. Note that the wall wart with this WILL NOT charge the phone at "quick charging" speeds, but for my use they work fine overnight as well as the car.)

u/paulmike3 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I've tried a lot of cases, and for the past 4 months I've been loving the Diztronic Voyeur case. Dark sides, but clear back to show off the Nexus branding.

u/despoticdanks · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

This is the one I bought. I got really lucky and it was an Amazon Prime Daily Deal yesterday so I only paid $26.99 for it.

This was the other one I was considering. Note this one has a 5V/3A Type C port for both charging the brick and charging your device (switch input/output with the button on the brick). If it hadn't been for the sweet deal on the other one, I would have much more seriously considered this.

Anker is a very reputable brand for portable battery chargers and, from what I've heard, is the go to brand for most Ingress players.

The Spigen Neo Hybrid EX. It has alot of good reviews and you can show of your dbrand skin, And it also has some type of reinforced frame for good protection.

  2. https://www.amazon.com/Battery-YISHDA-3450mAh-HB416683ECW-Replacement/dp/B078B5P1LD

  3. See link it includes tools, in addition to that I used a craft knife (to get underneath the bottom and camera panels) a card (to remove glue under battery) and a hair dryer

  4. Battery ribbon was slightly longer, as mentioned in Amazon reviews u can kind of just fold it

  5. Great, 105% accubattery after a couple days use. Charging is slower though.

  6. N/a

  7. If you use a hair dryer heat it for a really long time (couple mins) I'm pretty sure it's not as effective as a heat gun as the glue wasn't always melting well if I didn't heat it for a while. And as others have mentioned when removing the glue from under the battery, becareful of the black ribbon (see YouTube videos) you can potentially rip it.

  8. No

  9. Thin cable
u/exxxidor · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I bought these two:

  • POETIC Affinity Series https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015P62CBI/
  • Spigen Thin Fit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AXPM36U/

This one should be here Tuesday:

  • Bear Motion Ultra Slim https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019BX454I/

The Poetic doesnt have the huge ugly "P" logo on it like the pictures and while it's an OK case, it's a bit cheap feeling. Also the grip cutouts along the edge make it REALLY grippy and really hard to just slide into a pocket.

The Spigen is fantastic except for how they made the lip on the bottom edge. If you're like me and rest the bottom edge of your phone on your pinky finger while holding it sometimes the edge on this case can really press into your finger and be uncomfortable. I got so tired of it that I took a sanding block and sanded off the whole bottom edge.

That may have led to an issue with the corners at the bottom becoming more brittle or stressed, but now one has cracked and fell off. I would buy another one, but I found the Bear Motion one and thought to give another case a try.

I want a slim case that makes the phone a bit more grippy and not add a lot of bulk. I really want to try to go with the Rhino bumper case and leave the back nude, but it looks way to lumpy to pocket easily.
u/legion02 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

This one, by all accounts, is supposed to be good. Cheaper than the Google chargers and legitimately capable of 3A charging.

u/TheBKBurger · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

A battery pack with USB C and Fast Charging. There are many on amazon and I use it every day.

I have this and it's amazing. It even has Qualcomm quick charge for other people who might use it.

u/bigceej · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Choetech makes excellent products! There cables and chargers are very high quality and affordable. If you want just 1 USB C port there is this

Or if you want a USB C and 2 USB A get this . Not usre why this is on pre-order again, maybe they just sold all there stock. But I preordered it the first time, they screwed up and accidentally sent everyone 2 USB cables they said I could keep them and they would still send me the charger. The charger is great, and the only one out there that meets USB C spec and has Usb A.

u/Honsou · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I have an Aluminum 6P, and I went with the black Spigen Thin Fit case. I really hate bulky cases, so this one is great for me. It's the bare minimum protection, so it doesn't add much bulk. And it actually improves the phone in my opinion. The power/volume buttons were so easy to hit accidentally, now they're recessed and that never happens. Adds more grip to the phone as well. And I've dropped my phone a few times since getting the case, and haven't experienced any damage. Protects the corners, lifts the screen. (though I also have a tempered glass protector) Can't recommend it enough!

u/bennett2043 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I didn't and wish I had... Had it in the same pocket as my keys and now has a small scratch on the screen... Went on amazon and bought a spigen glass cover for 9.99... Love it so far and can't notice the scratch underneath anymore.

This one is only $8 shipped if you have Prime. And honestly only slightly more expensive than if you paid someone to go through the trouble of shipping you one.

I used it twice when I had my 6P. Worked great, got scratched after a while, cheap enough to just buy another and replace.

I use this one from Pleson and it's great! Bouncy rubber sides, not too thick.

If you're looking for a simple, thin, and lightweight TPU case then Diztronic is great. I've been using them on my last three phones including the 6p. They're not the flashiest case out there, but they're high quality and withstand the test of time rather well.

Just bought an extra charger and got this one: USB C Charger, CHOETECH 5V/3A 15W Type-C Wall Charger [USB C Cable Included] for Nintendo Switch, Google Pixel/Pixel XL, Lumia 950xl/950, Nexus 5x/6p https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017I7EX46/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_s9A9UvEAgmXlK

Works well and does rapid charging. Nexus 6p displays that it is rapidly charging when plugged in. Hope this helps.

u/GamerKingFaiz · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

Is the only difference between the one you linked and this one that the latter has Quick Charge 3.0? Does the 6P support that to make the extra $19 worth it?

u/tluley51 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I prefer this over those 2: http://www.amazon.com/Nexus-Case-Absorption-Protection-Anti-Static/dp/B01637DS70/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449845171&sr=8-1&keywords=ringke+nexus+6p

It has bumper (TPU) edges and a more hard plastic back so it doesnt brown over time like most clear cases. I swear by this case, I have gotten all the people I know to buy this case and I have not gotten a single bad review on it.

u/Dalmigarath · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I would say go ahead and get a glass screen protector for sure. Gorilla glass 4 is easier to scratch than gorilla glass 3, but gorilla glass 4 it less prone to shatter, so I guess you take the good with the bad.

As for a case I just use a small thin one, I like it but it's really up to preference.

I actually had that same Spigen case and got a replacement case for the same reason! I went with another Spigen Case. This one is a different, more flexible material that won't crack and it wraps around the whole phone. The only thing I missed was the cutouts for the volume and power buttons but I've gotten used to this one now! I like the look of this one too.

u/productfred · 23 pointsr/Nexus6P

Aukey is a trustworthy brand, similar to Anker. I use their chargers and their 10000 mah aluminum QC2.0 battery (though obviously it doesn't do QC2.0 on the 6P). I'm waiting for a discount on this (below), since my philosophy is that if you're charging your phone with an external battery, chances are your battery is low. Which means you need a quick charge.
