Hey there, redditors. So, I've written a short children's book. Sure, it's no Green Eggs and Ham, but I'm kind of proud of how well it turned out. It's titled, "My Daddy, the Amazing Nurse!", and it's available for FREE on Amazon Kindle from 12/22-12/26. I would love any honest reviews via Amazon (good or bad) so that I can improve the reader experience for future editions and/or similar books that I have in the works, but a review is not required for the download. Again, it's 100% free.

Amazon's product pages are a little misleading for free books. To get the book for free, as long as the price shows $0.00, click "Buy now with 1-click". If you click the "Read for Free" link, it will ask if you want to subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, which you DON'T need to do to read this book!
Let me know what you all think (preferably as a review on Amazon, but I'll take feedback here too!). Thanks!
Do you have/are you allowed to use a care plan book? If so, that's going to be your best friend throughout school. Diagnoses, interventions, and rationales :)
This is the one I have:

I used this book, Mometrix Secrets study guide ! Very helpful to me. I used this and an anatomy book i already had for extra info on the science section. I reviewed for about a month and did pretty well on the TEAS. Good luck ! :) https://www.amazon.com/ATI-TEAS-Secrets-Study-Guide/dp/1516703839
Learn your vital signs for Peds. They sell little cards that you can clip to your badge on amazon for lots of different helpful things. Very helpful for a new student. The one for Peds vital signs is going to save you since you haven’t learned it yet! It has different age ranges with norms. I borrowed a book (this one: https://www.amazon.com/ATI-TEAS-Secrets-Study-Guide/dp/1516703839/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8) from the community college library, skimmed through the sections to see what was on the test, and took one of the practice tests in the back. I also had an app to do some practice questions on the bus, etc. I scored about 85% overall and did the best in the English/reading sections (high 90%), pretty good on math, and decent enough on the science section.
I have used Ackley and Gulanick nursing care plan books. I love both. Someone linked the Ackley one already.
Here’s the Gulanick https://www.amazon.com/dp/0323428185/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_g55RBb80N8R50
Littman lightweight stethoscope sells for $50. Definently the way to go. I had this one and others in my class had cheaper versions and they could not hear accurately. This is a very good stethoscope and will definently make your life easier in nursing school.
Here's one on amazon..... www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001CCINO0/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500524171&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=littman+lightweight+ii+s.e.+stethoscope&dpPl=1&dpID=31aD9SXXwrL&ref=plSrch
Saunders
It's supposed to be an NCLEX review but I used it all through school. It explains things well and breaks down what is most important for the nurse to know. Helped me on all my exams and then I used it for content review when I was studying for NCLEX if there was an area in my Kaplan questions that I was doing poorly.

That looks similar? If you have a store with a athletic section near you I would highly recommend trying it on before you buy anything to see how well it covers.
I've done a bit of research, this book is rated fairly high on amazon! You can check out some of the reviews. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0323322247/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_Y.VRBb1VNF70N
I'd buy a single serve coffee maker and maybe a good coffee mug
