I was a day one adopter, and got this cheap case as it was one of the few available:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N6N3J8D

It's not bad, and is protective enough, but is just a quick adaptation of existing cases (not super customized in any way for the Go. Is relatively cheap as the glue holding the netting compartment has separated a little.

If I had to do it again, these both look like potentially interesting upgrades:

I don’t know of any commercial alternative. I made my own halo style mount to have some relief from that annoying face pressure of the original strap (see image in previous post).

Sebastian from MRTV made a mod with the Vives Deluxe Audio Strap

A cheaper mod would use something like this welding headgear (one Go user posted that some time ago).
I purchased one of those myself but didn’t explore that solution any further. But the weight distribution would probably be much better compared to the original strap.

Pretty much everyone recommends the SteelSeries Stratus. It's a very well made Bluetooth controller and it's about $10 cheaper than the Xbox One S controller. Personally I wouldn't spend less than $30 on a controller. Quality is important, trust me.

Accessories like this usually takes time to roll out after a product does. They don't want to have a ton of accessories for a product that might flop. So I think this is a good sign that the Go is selling good (which I didn't have any doubt on anyway - This just confirms it even more), and hopefully we see more and more accessories released.

As for this case, I still recommend the one I bought over this to anyone looking, though. If we go by the German Alternate.de site and the UK Amazon site listed in other comments, it's around $45 for this case. The one I got is only $17, and holds more. Not only can I put the headset and Go controller in the case, I can also fit an Xbox controller, battery pack, mini wifi router, recharger, and all the cables in my case, which the pictures for the "official" case doesn't look like it can handle.

u/DickInYerMouth · 2 pointsr/OculusGo

Ah, OK. Well, since you said it hasn't even shipped yet,

maybe you can still cancel the Oculus order and get one from Amazon?

It's here if you decide to go [haha] that way: AMAZON-"Oculus Go"

Good luck!

An authentic Sandisk 256GB microsd card costs $90.00

https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-MC256GA-APC-microSDXC-Adapter/dp/B0752LHMXM/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1550630886&sr=8-7&keywords=sandisk+256gb+micro+sd

the size of a pinky fingernail...

You'd think with this being as small as it is, one could easily design a low profile usb-otg adapter that would snugly and securely fit into an oculus go with the intention of staying there.

Surprised Oculus hasn't implemented this yet tbh as it increases the headroom to install experiences as well which you would think be of more interest to Oculus...

The other approach hasn't worked thus far and I suspect it's because it depends upon other finicky android components i.e. "Move to SD" to be implemented/expose other components/elements of the native android ui to the user and Oculus is having issues with that for one reason or the other...

With adoptable however, it's management is automatic, done behind the scenes with little to none user input other than initial setup.

It’s $12.99 on Amazon. It goes on sale occasionally for $9.99. I think I got mine at best buy. The xbox one controller sits where the hump is and there’s a small pocket on inside top that holds power supply and cable. The go fits perfectly in the cut out area for the psvr. And it’s a hard shell case.

u/Toby1993 · 2 pointsr/OculusGo

The Windows MR headsets all support SteamVR, so you get access to all the same apps and games.

https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Explorer-Wireless-Headset-G0A20001WW/dp/B0764L8YL7It's so cheap too I'd really recommend getting the bundle with controllers - There are some really cool VR games out there :-)
The headset has two 1440 x 1440 displays, one for each eye.

Just finished a great book (The History of the Future) about history of Oculus (Palmer Lucky).

I thought it was worth a read and gave good insight into the founding of company and history between Oculus/Valve/ID Software and others in the early early days of VR.

Yeah, those moldings for the touch controller and cables are unfortunate. Without those there, you could probably fit the Xbox controller in there. At least there would be some flexibility. I have a similarly-sized case with no moldings. I flip the headset's strap around and can fit everything I need in there. I also have the original cardboard covering the Go's lens when in transport, just to be safe.

Hermit Shell for those of you who want a nice cheap zip up hard case that fits Go and accessories.

I got this one and have really enjoyed it so far. It fits a surprising amount of stuff in it.

u/vanfanel1car · 1 pointr/OculusGo

I just went to best buy and bought a xbox bluetooth wireless controller and it worked fine. (model 1708) I think it's this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LPZM7VI/

The wireless xbox controller that came with the original rift is not bluetooth and that doesn't work (model 1697)

u/JorgTheElder · 4 pointsr/OculusGo

Any name brand that delivers 2.1A at 5v.

I like Anker, but currently use one from Ikea.

I would invest in a good cable too. Here is the one I use at home, and the one I use when I am traveling (I put the battery pack in my shirt pocket when using the short cable.) The right-angle connectors are awesome, and reversible!

I have tried multiple magnetic cables, but so far I have not had great luck with them keeping the Go fully charged. That may just be because I really went low-bid on them.

u/jintsjason · 1 pointr/OculusGo

I got this one. Slightly bigger footprint, but if you have a large power bank, it's great.

I also scratched slightly the center of the lense of my GO and I insisted Oculus support to have support because their protection for glasses are insufficient (or the recommendations to protect glasses). And also on the fact that they do not provide glasses protection. So no support in warranty. We must fend for ourselves. I have on my side put a protective film for smartphone cut (two circles). There are also round watch protections https://www.amazon.fr/Montres-Circulaire-Diam%C3%A8tre-Protection-Protecteur/dp/B00H48H64E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527790047&sr=8-1&keywords=film+protection+montre . preferably thin films because the glasses are curved

There are actually two versions of the Stratus XL: one designed for use with Android and Windows, and one designed for use with iOS devices. There are some cosmetic differences and obviously some functional differences as well. If your current model works with your Apple TV it's probably the iOS version which doesn't behave correctly when used with the Gear VR platform (or Android in general).

I should have mentioned this but Android is everywhere in my life and iOS nowhere to be found so I'm a little blinkered (there's no philosophical stance involved, or misplaced devotion, it's just the way things turned out).

As for the controller you ordered it will almost certainly work it's just that some of the inputs might not be mapped correctly across all the experiences on the platform. Or maybe they will be.

There’s an electronic gadget you wear on your wrist called a Relief Band. They sell it on Amazon and private pilot shops. Prevents nausea without drugs. Here's the Amazon link, there are also other models and at least one other brand. https://smile.amazon.com/Reliefband-1-5-Motion-Morning-Sickness/dp/B00PG4NUOS/

Edited to add link.

u/Trinica93 · 2 pointsr/OculusGo

The battery issue can be fixed with two items:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005X1Y7I2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_hEg1CbAHT6JX1

https://www.etsy.com/listing/676488846/oculus-go-anker-battery-mount

Unfortunately, the Netflix and YouTube apps are less than optimal - I will definitely be attempting to sideload the apk for those to see if that's a better experience.

u/xadamadax · 3 pointsr/OculusGo

My wife and I just got Go's for a long flight, mostly to use with emulators and movies.

I'm using an xbox one s bluetooth that I had already and I just got her this one for only $12

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EO5QPN2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both work great, all in what you want to spend. Xbox one s is obviously more solid but there's nothing wrong with the other, it's actually made by the same folks who did the pads for Game Sir.

u/Calguy1 · 2 pointsr/OculusGo

I'm using a Metricom G-Pad XYBA Bluetooth game pad for $18 on Amazon. Works perfect so far.

u/Monkeylashes · 1 pointr/OculusGo

Buy this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0194WDVHI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's the size of a credit card and will last you 5+ hours with it plugged in. And it easily tucks away under the back strap.

u/firagabird · 1 pointr/OculusGo

Currently verifying with Oculus on Twitter if this user & Amazon listing is legitimate. In the meantime, I've saved this page on the Wayback Machine for posterity:

Anker Powercore+ Mini $16.99 (Also comes in Silver for a better match)

Velcro Ties $5.27 (Use reversed so they stick to the fabric)

Grand total: $22.26

USB cable is about a foot long.

Edit: Is it weird that before I even turned on the Go for the first time, I did this so I wouldn't have to plug it in during the setup?

Edit 2: Go battery is 2600 MAh and the battery I have attached is 3350 MAh. Estimated to last 4.5 to 5.5 hours combined.

Power output is 1 amp / 5 volt. Battery weight is 80 grams.

Edit 3: Something I'd like to point out about this mod is that it isn't permanent. The battery just slides out and the velcro loops will stay in position. I think some people are seeing this and interpreting it as a 24/7 solution of perpetually hot swapping batteries (which is of course an option), but if that gives you safety concerns this mod can be used sparingly as a stopgap to finish your movie or your game or whatever before your battery runs out.

Edit 4: To all the naysayers, What's the worst that could happen?

u/huasamaco · 5 pointsr/OculusGo

go with the 32 one.

optional: a little anker battery or a long usb cable to charge the Go with your pc.

install skybox to play media over network and you are set.

u/manicmachine_kmack · 1 pointr/OculusGo

I went with the JSVER Gear VR Case - I preferred not having the moldings - more flexible for the future

u/mrphilipjoel · 1 pointr/OculusGo

This is what I use Matricom G-Pad XYBA Wireless Rechargeable Bluetooth Pro Game Pad Joystick Controller (Samsung Gear VR, PC, PS3, and G-Box Compatible!) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EO5QPN2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bk0QCb6HZ89V9

u/BoxMacCary · 2 pointsr/OculusGo

Right, if you don't have a gamepad, you can't even get into the arcade room itself.

So I ordered the 2nd gen XBOX One S wireless controller from Amazon.

u/DJaye · 1 pointr/OculusGo

Here you go: VR Case

Lots of room and it doesn't bang around in there because of the straps

u/jungl1st · 4 pointsr/OculusGo

I bought Anker Power Core 10000

I haven’t tried it yet. It gets delivered today and I have a 4 hour flight on Monday

I’ll review it asap

u/ethan829 · 2 pointsr/OculusGo

This one fit my Go, touch controller, Xbox controller, and a battery bank no problem.

u/G-Ziss · 1 pointr/OculusGo

Thanks. Would these controllers work with the Go?

Edit: Apparently these won't work with the Go since these are not Xbox One S controllers specifically, but I can't seem to find any S controllers for sale.

Also, probably a dumb question, but how would I charge them if I don't own an Xbox One?
