Heya, if you’d like to get into drawing stuff like this I recommend buying a book like drawing dynamic comics. It gives really good step by steps of how to draw muscular characters in different poses. Once you’ve had a go at that I’d recommend getting a book on human form, or even just online resources. The important thing is to have fun, and not be hard on yourself if something isn’t right first time. Good luck!

I can only speak for fellow US of A'sians but here you go:

so you can get EVA in 2 forms-- treated and untreated. treated comes usually in smaller packs, but it's more commercially readily available. treated is when it's already been formed into a shape, like puzzle pieces for floors or something, and so it has a texture on one side and needs more effort to get rid of said texture. (picture here if you're confused)

you can get the treated ones (often sold as anti-fatigue mats and they'll come in rolls or in those foam floor puzzle pieces) at harbor freight or menard's.

and then the untreated version is sold as L200 (or L300 etc as they get harder but L200 is the closest hardness to EVA). L200 is slightly softer, but is easier to find in different thicknesses and most importantly, is smooth on both sides.
L200 is available mostly online and there's a few websites that sell it. I'd shop around a bit because some are cheaper

Some beginning store links (I wouldn't necessarily buy from these but it's a good starting point to help you search more):

L200

ATTENTION: IF YOU HAVE NOT PRE-ORDERED VOLUME 1 YET, DO NOT ORDER IT FROM AMAZON JP RIGHT NOW

This version has shot up in price overnight due to scalpers. They won't ship overseas so if you just want the regular version Bluray without the drama CD, wait for the description to say "fulfilled by Amazon" and see if your shipping address will then work.

If it won't work yet, just wait for Amazon JP to get some stock for sale so that overseas buyers can get Volume 1. For now, if you don't want to pay scalpers prices. you will have to pay MSRP via CDJapan.

If you don't know what the manga on top of the panel is, it's a french manga called Lastman. It's awesome and you should check out the english translation. Apparently Yusuke Murata loves it. It's been also praised by Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira), Naoki Urasawa (Monster, 20th Century Boys) and Tetsuo Hara (Fist of the North Star). It's now been adapted in a video game called Lastfight and an animated series.

You can also support the amazing artist Murata by purchasing them on amazon via kindle or the hard book versions. But these official versions are not as far along as the web translated versions.

I am, but i have my high school finals in march and the pre boards are starting this month, so i'm not getting much time to study what i like.

Apart from that i'm starting to learn what forms of verbs mean and how their ending affects the meaning. Like 'ita' means the meaning is related to past tense, and 'tai' means it's about wanting something.

Though i couldn't find any good websites for learning grammar* and don't really wanna spend money on books, even though i've found some good ones.

I wouldn't recommend sharpie for the line work. When the light catches sharpie it gives off a weird sheen instead of a matt black and can offset the painting. An Acrylic Pen will do a much neater job and match the rest of the paint.

Yeah, acrylic dries really quick so it doesn't take too much time. Make sure you paint in good lighting so you can apply the paint evenly.

Murata is working on a lot of other stuff. Some examples:

He made the volume cover for volume 12 and probably made a bonus chapter that is exclusive for the volume.

The art you can see here was made by him.

Season 2 of the OPM Anime is being made right now and he is helping them.

> Canvas looks like 18" x 24" which goes for roughly: $10-$20 depending on quality of canvas OP could have certainly spent more on a nicer canvas but let's lowball it.

Canvas is 16 x 20, cost 8 euro

> Paints (I prefer Gamblin) are kind of expensive: $6-$20 a tube depending on size and quality

Here's the paint I used

> but probably more in order to mix up the colors for the proper shading as you would rarely paint with the colors as they come out of the tube.

Spot on, tried to get as close as possible to Obama's hope poster

From what I've seen, he uses Mitsubishi Hi-Uni pencils to draw and Tombow Mono eraser . He usually uses g-pens and maru pens with other random felt tip pens for more even linework or filling in large areas. I think most mangaka like Zebra g-pens. I think when he colors he likes to start with Copic markers then go over it with either gouache or opaque watercolor. From his videos, I think he uses Holbein gouache paint and Sakura opaque watercolor with these cheapo Pentel brushes.

The licensed English version is from VIZ Media. The free versions you've been reading online are scanned from Japanese sources, cleaned up in Photoshop, and fan translated (known as scanlations).

Legend has it you can watch them all, along with all of season 1, for about $30 at Best Buy.

edit: ayyyy

Uh, the one you found on Amazon in English isn't going to be ONE's webcomic. That's just a webcomic that's online for free. They're all written by ONE because ONE is the one who writes all of it. You aren't going to find OPM not written by ONE.

This is what you're looking for.

I ordered them off of amazon Japan! If you're interested here's a guide on how to buy from that site and receive it in the US (http://cdn.halcyonrealms.com/japan/how-to-order-from-amazon-japan-a-detailed-buying-guide/). The one downside is you have to have a region free blu-ray player because they won't work on standard US players. Last, but not least here is a link to the what I bought http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B015ZAEIG6

The Japanese BD/DVD doesn't have Japanese subtitles according to Amazon, anime BD/DVDs usually doesn't have any subtitles at all.
