Behringer UCA202 is a decent budget DAC and should work perfectly for what you want.

I have these. They work "ok". Very susceptible to external interference but a) I got them for free and b) they meet your criteria.

Take a look at what Edifier has to offer. They are generally not super small but they fill the room with very good sound. Like car engines there is really no replacement for displacement. Larger drivers move more air.

FiiO E10k is a little over your budget (could get one that's open box/used), but well worth the price.

    Hey,

So I bought a new pc about 6 months ago. And about 3 months ago I started to have sound issues.

I believe I have all latest drivers.
I have clipping on audio and a reverb burp when playing intensive games.

    See here :

    reverb - (4 second mark)

    Clipping - (constant) https://vocaroo.com/i/s1F42vvkMQMV

The issue has become worse and worse and now effects mp3 music too and sometimes desktop sound.
Mostly in games though when screen is busy.

I've reinstalled the audio drivers but it only stops it for a short while.

I was thinking of buying the above sound card or any sound card anyone recommends which is decent on a budget.

But it occcured to me that I think the pc is using the gcard for sound?
Via HDMI to monitor and internal speakers.

  • So would a sound card even help as how would it run into the monitor speakers?

Can anyone suggest what the hell these issues are and how to fix them Please as it's been months and my paid tech support doesn't have a clue...

    Thanks :-)

I'm curious, why use the Marantz for music only? That said, I've been using these since a couple years back and they are decent for the price.

This took me from too much noise on my integrated input to acceptable for online communication. If it just has to be passable, it might do the trick.
