Yes it isn’t an acid it’s actually sodium hyaluronate which is a salt. It supposedly holds like 1,000x its weight in water— thus being a good moisturizer because it sucks moisture in and locks it in.

Some HA products advertise 1% pure (which can be a good thing, I believe niod and heritage rose water have one) but no greater than 2% is good. Things that say 99% HA are a lie bc that would literally be a block of salt.

HA is good but you must have the moisture for it to absorb— which is why I often spray a toner before or after when I put any sodium hyaluronate product on, to ensure it won’t dry my skin out but actually hydrate. There is a fine line. Toners/mists are great that have a little bit in them.

My all time fave is:

• heritage rose water + glycerin (I like glycerin bc I live in the south and it’s humid. It sucks the humidity out of the air and into my skin. Glycerin can also be drying and have the opposite effect, dependent on the atmosphere). HG HG HG SUPER HG
  
• Michael Todd balancing toner evened out skin, moisturizing. Sodium hyaluronate/aloe/minerals and a ton of algae’s and kelps.
  
• thayers alcohol free cucumber toner spray spray is convenient. This is HG. Reduces redness. Moisturizes 3/5. The way it evens my skin and reduces redness is something I have yet to see another toner do.... for $10.
  
  I am currently hate panning Son & Parks Beauty Water. It’s supposed to be intensely moisturizing but it’s NOT. I keep Mario badusu Rose Water in my purse bc it sucks and I’ve been using the son and parks for 1.5 months bc it was my first AB product I fell for under Sephora voodoo and $30 down the drain. It’s so un-hydrating that I’ll spray it (decanted some into $1 spray bottle) on my makeup when I’m done to get a more dewy affect and it does not do a damn thing, so I have to go in with my Rosewater + Glycerin toner. Should’ve just ordered Hada Labo and been done w it.
  
  I am on a mission to use up toner by toner one at a time until I can finally just simplify my life to the few I really enjoy.
  
  
• pacifica rose water hydro mist (sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, aloe, vit b, allantoin, green tea, vit c, witch hazel, rose water are all the top ingredients). This is my next new toner to try. The ingredients look great but whose to say it will end up HG status. I’m sure you all will see it on here soon.

Six month empties check in! The link to my spreadsheet where I maintain my collection is above. The first three sections are empty/ gone from the collection, and are labeled as such. Below the "COLLECTION" banner, is my entire makeup collection, including the products that have been emptied or destashed.

Some things to note before we dive in:

I failed to keep some items, so there are a couple of gaps from the spreadsheet to the photos. Specifically, the Smashbox eye primer, I failed to keep, so for the purpose of the photos, used my full bottle.
A couple of dates might look odd-- specifically, finishing two highlighters within a day of each other. I was using them both simultaneously, topping Opal with Pearl. If any other dates look odd, this is usually the case. I’ve only recently begun trying to use a product from start to finish, compared to flitting between products as I felt like doing so.

not op but i struggled with mine for the longest time too. i bought lunch money and flexitarian and i felt like they applied horribly and always messed up my foundation. i just started using them again with this brush and a pretty light hand and i’ve found that even over powder they apply beautifully. i just kind of swirl my brush around in the pan and then just lightly apply it and it looks way better than when i used my fingers!

I used a beauty spatula to scrape out as much product as I could. Unfortunately the shape of the spatula didn't allow for me to get the product at the top of the bottles.

The e.l.f Flawless Finish foundation is actually the first foundation I ever bought! I've been using it since senior year high school and have continuously repurchased. It's really cheap and can easily be sheered out/ built up so it's a favorite :-)

The YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat was a gift, and the shade was too light for me, so I only used it in combination with my Lancome Teint Idole (which is too dark lol... I had no idea Sephora color matched so off). Mixed together they give a really comfortable, skin-like medium coverage look. This is a bottle of the old formulation, and I haven't repurchased because A) apparently the new formulation isn't as good as the old one? and B) I'm not sure if the shades are the same as the old ones. Now I'm stuck with half a bottle of the Lancome foundation that's too dark for me lol.

i think the spatula brand has a thinner one for concealers and looking back i would've gotten that one since i could've used that one for foundation and concealer

i bought the bottle i have in japan i think, but this is the closest i could find. it's great bc it's a vacuum pump

I found these on Amazon to help get every last drop of product! It works perfect for concealer. And then I cleaned what was left in the tube with a makeup wipe

If you’re really interested, I’d buy a makeup spatula. The one I have that I feel does best with wnw foundation (I always transfer it into an airless pump upon buying because I hate the built-in spatula) is:
