Personally, I'd go with the Corsair H55. It has a really low, round pump unit which is ideal for the tight spaces in the back of the Shift. The pump on the M22 is taller, which will block a little more airflow - not much, but you don't have much in the first place, so it helps to min/max where ever you can.

The EVGA models have a square-ish pump unit with the tubing coming off the top. The Kraken G12 bracket requires a round AIO pump unit, so I'm not even sure the EVGA would work. And the tubing coming off the top is a problem, as it likely wouldn't fit in the space you have between the GPU and the back of the motherboard.

Bottom line, go with an AIO with a round, low-profile pump unit, and don't spend any extra on RGB since it will be hidden inside the case anyway.

One other thing I did was buy some heat sinks like these and put them on the MOSFETs and the VRAM modules. The G12 uses a 92mm fan to cool the PCB components, and I wanted to help it along a little. Don't have any benchmarks with/without so I can't promise it helped, but it sure didn't hurt.

Best of luck with your Shift! Be sure to post pics when you're finished with it.

> So... I think you're saying you don't need to drive anything but the LEDs built into the case, correct? And you specifically want to do it via software, not hardware?

Right. I was just asking whether the case lights (the 4 RGB strips and the RGB ring around the power button) can all be Y-connector-ed to one 12v header, or if that's too much to be putting on one header for voltage or current reasons. And yes, I want everything to be synced up in Aura.

> Generally, but isn't the JST SM connector 3-pin, rather than 4-pin? It is on my case, but it's possible you have something else.

The JST SM connectors coming out of the lights on my case are 4-pin, and Phanteks website (and Amazon) offers a cable that adapts this to the more standard 4 pin RGB connector. So it looks like I'll need two of those (the top cover and front panel lights are each already Y'd together, so you have one wire coming out of each) which I'll then Y together using a splitter with standard RGB connectors at both ends.

> I thought you meant general instructions for a wide range of hookups. If you just meant more comprehensive than they have now, I'd definitely agree with you.

I mean, even just a simple diagram of the RGB contoller's connections and a few notes about what the channels do would have been very helpful. I have no idea how this guy figured out what needs to be connected to what other than simple trial and error.

You will need a 90 degree riser cable.

Like this one: https://www.amazon.com/EZDIY-FAB-Express-PCIe3-0-Flexible-Extension/dp/B07D2CGGVZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1537794744&sr=1-1&keywords=90%2Bdegree%2Briser%2Bcable&th=1

But given how niche these cables are, I don't think there's any sort of standard to where the screws go... the one I linked to looks like Swiss cheese. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81Jk3nDQ13L._SL1500_.jpg

Will it work? Probably? Seems easier to buy off Phanteks. I checked just now and they now have both the 220mm and 600mm versions in their shop. I'm on the fence about getting the 600mm riser cable. I don't need it. ITX system will be a Plex server and streaming. GPU is not necessary. But Phanteks' price at $60 is actually really good.

I just bought the Modmesh Pro RT series (for Seasonic PSU's) kit, so they are all just standard length from their website. There is a little slack behind the cable cover in the back, but not a ton. The only one that's really too long is the molex cable for the pump, and to get the DRGB and the fan hub, and the two drives, and the temp sensor I have is 5 sata power, and the default one comes with a 4 and a 2, so I had to use both, the 4 is a little long, but not too bad, though the 2 is obviously more than I needed for the 1 extra sata power.

And then I bought a couple of these for cable combs as they looked the most like the Cablemod ones: https://www.amazon.com/Pieces-24-pin-8-pin-Gesleeved-0-13inch/dp/B0756XF5ZQ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=cable+combs&qid=1570029329&s=electronics&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExS0xMWExHMkhJMVlaJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUExMDQwNjI2MzY4Q0pBWDhDTjVYVyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTczOTg0MjdGWFRYRk8ySDZOWiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Okay, like you can see in my photos, I have the lux and the exact same Mobo. That adapter will work just fine.

If you want an adapter plus 2 LED strips that is another option as well.

u/Jaz1140 · 2 pointsr/Phanteks

Sure. Just like this 1. There are a few variants. Yes between psu and shroud.

u/TeaSwiz · 3 pointsr/Phanteks

I've only heard great things about the EVGA cables set. If i wasn't trying to save i'd be getting that instead of the Phanteks extensions.

EDIT: I got black and going for heavy white lighting and the cables are hopefully going to add a bit more visibility inside. Plenty of colors available from Phanteks and a few from EVGA too !

u/frostfiree · 1 pointr/Phanteks

Did the change the fab hub from the old Evolv ATX? If so, that's a shame. I recommend this one if you plan to use a different one or go towards the splitter route.

u/too_toked · 1 pointr/Phanteks

are you referring to this original one from Phanteks?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MW73HTJ?pf_rd_p=76bd99fd-409f-46a4-9ff6-b66b5703e95b&pf_rd_r=7FM0724ANQ3QVXCW177A

This one from Phanteks uses the original slots as well, without moving the GPU further inside the case as well as not using the 3 vertical slots in the Evolv X Case

u/KCDC3D · 1 pointr/Phanteks

Sure, it's this one from MountIt

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X9D7JWP/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_2bjXDbEFW9P3D

Looks like it got even cheaper than when I bought it.

u/ketoer17 · 1 pointr/Phanteks

Oh gotcha. The one I saw on amazon was without a case.

u/thefivetheory · 2 pointsr/Phanteks

If you buy this adapter you can control your case's lighting via Asus's software and the mobo's RGB connector.

I'm using a HUE+ with my Evolv TG and while the standard set of strips don't fully circle the window (they make a 'u' for about 2/3 of the total distance, I'd guess), I'm still pleased with how it looks (in that photo you can see on the upper-left where the LED strip ends, just shy of the top of the 120 rad).

u/FuntinSupport · 1 pointr/Phanteks

I recommend that you purchase our https://www.amazon.com/Funtin-Extension-Express-Flexible-Extender/dp/B07VJ5PB5Q, which meets your requirements.

And if it is not appropriate after you receive it, you can return it whitno reason.

u/fedec96 · 2 pointsr/Phanteks

In stock and ready to ship (Amazon, Italy): https://www.amazon.it/dp/B07GY355N2

u/Crashboy96 · 1 pointr/Phanteks

Same dimensions as this one I'd imagine.

This is the IPS version which is almost certainly what is optimal for this use case considering the better viewing angles of IPS — I don't plan to have my case pointing right at me.

You think these models would fit inside the PSU shroud but not the one with the case? I never bothered measuring because Amazon returns are so easy, but I got charged like $7 this time which is kind of a bummer.

u/Deanifish · 1 pointr/Phanteks

If you have a phanteks case with an LED controller then the halos can go in there. If not, you'll need an adapter cable to connect it to your motherboard which you can find here.

Edit: I should add, the halo lux rings come with the adapter I think.

u/1ezric · 2 pointsr/Phanteks

You’ll need this to plug into your mobo’s led pin, the other end will be used for rgb accessories.

Phanteks RGB LED 4 Pin Adapter, Specified for Cases with Multi Colors RGB Control (PH-CB_RGB4P) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BZIBJAK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rtgiAbYQEQ4DB

u/CattusKittekatus · 6 pointsr/Phanteks

You bought "wrong" strip and wrong halos.

These are standard strips and standard halos, the 12V RGB.

Your EVOLV X case is meant to be used with ADDRESSABLE lighting, so Digital halo this one https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Halos-140mm-Digital-PH-FF140DRGBP_BK01/dp/B07BGWLH14

And WS2812B addressable strip like this https://www.amazon.com/Programmable-Aclorol-Individually-Addressable-Raspberry/dp/B07BKNS7DJ

or this (if you want to overpay for Phanteks overpriced strips) https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-DRGBLED_Combo_01-Digital-Adapter-Compatible/dp/B07C1ZFRWW/

With these, then everything will check out. And you will be able to sync both your case with halo, strip and motherboard.

If you don't want your current purchase to go to waste (or can't return it), you need to purchase this https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Adapter-Specified-Control-PH-CB_RGB4P/dp/B01BZIBJAK/ and then you can connect HALO's and strips to your motherboard 4-pin 12V G R B headers but then, they wont sync with case, as case has to be connected separately to ADD_Header (5V data GND).

Check page 22 and 23 of case manual.
